The saga started in 2021 but he only got possession back in 2025.

Similar to the Palestine flag badge, if you allow one symbol then you have to allow them all IMHO which sets a bad precedent.
According to the Green Councillor, having the national flag but not having the pride flag up will make LGBTQ think that the State plans to castrate them
"Green councillor Sam Jones also suggested the flag policy was "actually about eliminating all things Pride".
"We used to arrest and even castrate people for even being gay in this country, and we did it in living memory," he said.
"Raising the Pride flag is the promise that we, as custodians of this council, make. To do all that we can to ensure that we never return to those days when some people felt like they had to hide from the world.
"It doesn't take a genius to work out that raising the flag of the country that did the castrating and imprisoning and denying the raising of a Pride flag alongside it, doesn't exactly send the most welcoming of messages."
Apparently theres a lot of anger about the flotilla even including LGBTQ activists

Oh no wait, that still happens. To about 800,000 women a year. But yes Sam, you worry about your silly little flag waving that tells men they are safe to put on a dress to access women’s spaces.

He makes a good point. These activists try to co-opt every agenda to try and further their own cause with little understanding of what’s at stake for the protagonists. I’ve seen it myself recently on a protest against the reforms to PIP, with TRAs holding up trans flags as if that’s got anything to do with the point disability campaigners are trying to make.

'Queers for Palestine'
Palestine doesn't give a stuff about the queers.
It really is a cause akin to Turkeys supporting Xmas.
I personally roll my eyes at anyone who is part of the 'Queers for Palestine' cause.
Disability Rights UK who are spearheading a lot of the protests is overrun with TRA's. Disability rates within the Trans community are very high (though possibly a bit of a chicken and egg situation) so ripe to be co-opted.
It'll be all the cross sex hormones messing with their innards causing all sorts of disabilities.
Plus the incontinence from chopping all their bits around and using bowels for things they are not meant to be used for.
There was a really interesting article about similar in the NYT a few months about how the protests about Trumps immigration crack down had basically turned into a protest about everything, saw someone elsewhere refer to it as the Omnicause
