Thanks for all of the free gardening for years but now you can go home and stay there you dinosaurs
Idk if this about them/theys/t's but it's the same for every ideology and obviously the National Trust has sadly been infiltrated and is now destined to die a slow death like every other infected institution.
Nothing you say or do will ever be enough for them. It's all a game that you can never win. It will never be enough even if you snip in a badly cut inch long fringe with a pair of kitchen scissors and dye it blue and start wearing dungarees and Birkenstocks. You must be fresh out of university and be named after a garden herb and extra points for a double barrel surname. Just don't be white, old and straight.

Ok as a paying member of the NT I will be writing a complaint. I would be willing to wager 95% of the NT volunteers are over 50 an well meaning and have no clue about pronouns or rainbow lanyards or blue hair or taking responsibility for slavery etc. someone high up has decided to take this over. Membership has already gone up 30% in the last couple of years - it’s sad but it will be destroyed because it has gone this way.

eta membership price has gone up im sure in numbers it has decreased

Just playing a word game have a look at the question and answer asked other half the question and he gave the answer they said so I asked how does that work even without his nuts he is still male and he said no doubt gender you really couldn’t make it up. Whatever they've done or not done, this has been incredibly badly managed.

If you have issues with someone's conduct, you speak to that person individually, not send a mass email with no explanation, to people who have given their time and expertise FOR FREE.

They talk about values but what sort of values lead to you essentially dismissing people en masses without notice or explanation?

I have no idea what some people did that was so heinous but to my mind its just as bad to tar everyone with the same brush. I don't understand as well why no examples were given, surely if this rose to the level they're saying then it would be documented and available.

If I was these volunteer gardners I'd be filing a great big subject access request and potentially suing for defamation.

This is very weird as well,punishing people for being hesitant to raise concerns seems very victim blamey and not introspective at all maybe the staff members weren't approachable " Hesitancy to raise concerns or engage constructively with team members, including new staff, volunteers, and managers. I know nothing about UK politics (and barely anything about Aus politics for that matter) but I've always thought it was interesting of the fascist left to fight and protest for things like Gaza, muslim immigration, the right to wear hijabs and burquas, the building of more mosques, etc AND then also for the LGBTQABC...
They just DO NOT ALIGN!
Like the popular meme/saying pointed out, it's akin to "chickens for KFC".
If they do somehow get their way, I guess we can take some enjoyment in watching them all implode

We had our renewal reminder a couple of weeks ago. We've cancelled it. We'd seen the way the wind was blowing from snippets in the news. How long before they won't let you in unless you have blue hair, I wonder?

And when they won't give a reason, and shut down the conversation by refusing to engage, it's very evident that they know that their "reason" won't stand up to scrutiny and that they have no valid argument.

I've no idea what's going on here but surely these numpties are cutting off their nose to spite their face. The views of volunteer gardeners are now being censored! how ridiculous when they have been providing free labour. No gratitude for that here.

It just reinforces my opinion that when you offer your services free of charge, however competent you might be, nobody values your efforts.

'Don't work for free' is what I'm taking out of this sorry saga.

If every volunteer in the UK withdrew their labour the country would fold like an origami chicken within 24 hours.

But most people - especially most women - don't down tools because they care about the job they are doing, especially if people are depending upon them. And governments know this.

So freedom of speech is dead. Yes, of course there are things that shouldn’t be said, but policing people’s thought and feelings is wrong. No one is allowed a difference of opinion any more and the whole ”no debate” stance of the likes of Stonewall is bullying people into submission into accepting something that is unrational .

Again though, it’s just so one sided. Volunteers are told they are no longer welcome for not holding the right views. Although there is no clarity on what they have done to be banned, people are cancelled and condemned simply because they believe that sex is binary and real. We are yet to see any action being taken against TRA though who make horrible threats and violence to anyone disagreeing with them. Has anyone done anything against the masked blue haired hooligans who scream threats and have signs with threats to harm and kill women. It’s so unjust. How is it the worst thing ever not to go along with this ridiculous cult like ideology, and yet threatening people with violence and death goes totally unchallenged.
So where is the regard for women?
