Problem is for so many years we've been fed the line that transwomen are vulnerable and transwomen are attacked on a regular basis, transwomen are slaughtered in the hundreds of thousands ad infinitum from just about every direction. I'm not surprised some people think it's true and that they aren't a danger to anyone. If you see TiMs as being the stereotypical effeminate gay man - because that's the narrative that's pushed by the likes of the Guardian - which many do, then it's not a leap to assume they're harmless. And when you think like that, it's easy to write off big burly Dave in his baby pink ears skirt as either a figment of the Daily Mail's imagination or some nefarious bloke up to no good (rather than being the bleeping norm as we well know).
I just wish for once these people were held to account and actually made to look at the MoJ stats for violent and sexually motivated trans criminals.

Slightly OT (aren't I always?): My personal peeve at the mo is every time there's a story about a paedophile, the comments are awash with "And not a drag queen in sight" or "I'd leave my kids with a drag queen before I left them with a priest" Do they not see that having this kind a sacred caste is how priests were able to get away with the level of abuse they did for so many years? Create a demographic that are untouchable, and abusers will join them. Gah!

And when you think back to Hayley Cropper in Corrie. Yes, obviously a fictitious character. But why was an actual woman chosen to play that part? 🤔

They cast an actual woman so that she'd give no indication of being a man, given that she is, indeed, a woman. To give the impression that transwomen are indistinguishable from women.

Yes, it wasn't a real question on my part, tbh. Just thinking out loud. Also it made for Hayley being a very sympathetic character.

Because they knew fine well that if a male actor had been in the role, people would have gone crackers, or have mocked the storyline incessantly. Even Roy Cropper, social misfit as he was, would never have mistaken any of the coy little minxes we have seen on here for women.

Corrie and having Hayley Cropper played by a woman absolutely changed the narrative on the poor trans Woman just wanting to live her life. If a male actor had been used, people would not have been as sympathetic to the character at all.

I prefer League of Gentlemen.

Yes, absolutely.
This rit was nowhere near as prevalent back then of course. And Hayley was a very likeable character.

Also, Hayley was portrayed as a rather demure character, not a hint of any male traits and certainly not any male aggression or looking like a typical AGP.

Not just demure - she's small and of slight build. About the same height as me according to t'Interweb, which is 5'3". She took tiny steps, like a foot-bound Chinese lady of the19th century - men stride (or occasionally mince - either way it is a different gait altogether just because of the body proportions and angle of the hips)

There are very few men that height, and even those who are tend to be more heavily built than women. There is nothing remotely threatening about Hayley. Mr Mice is 5'5" and was a bit of a pocket Hercules in his prime (like me he has become rounder over the years . . . 😂 ). There is no way in hell that his silhouette would have ever been confused with a female one.

One more reason never to set foot in Lush again. I have shopped there years ago, but their staff seem to be trained to accost you while you’re looking round which I loathe.
Bugger off, if people start pushing me, I did my heels in not to buy. It’s always full of woker than woke but now they’ve got Letter Box Gob, that’s the final straw.
Given how beloved they are by woke quasi ND types their model of accosting people is strange. I keep my headphones on

Thoughts? Mine are if there wasn’t this permitted attitude for self id tall women wouldn’t be suspect. Also why was the guy going into the bathroom himself. All very odd
Thoughts? I'd love to know what actually happened. I'm pretty sure that even in the states a worker of 7 years couldn't be "sacked" for being accused of being trans. Much more to this than Pink News is letting on. It says at the end that Walmart have offered her a return to work. I wonder if there's a crowdfunder attached to this somewhere...🤔

Weirdly, I know an usual number of tall women I can think of four who are over six foot (and I don't have a massive social circle - because I'm not a fan of people). No one would ever look at them and think they were male regardless of how they were dressed, how their hair was cut or whether they were wearing makeup.

My son is small and slight, although he works out and has a fine set of muscles! But he's been chatted up by gay men, he's been told that he'd make a "lovely twink", but he's never, ever been mistaken for a woman. He has a photo on his phone from a night out in a gay club, with his girlfriend and their TIF friend, who is proudly showing her masectomy scars ☹. Even though they're of a similar height, it's obvious who the actual man is in the pic.

I always feel slightly cheated, and a bit embarrassed at being taken in by the Hayley Cropper character. Like most of the Corrie viewers, I was pleased for oddbod Roy, his happiness with his sex-change girlfriend was a lovely thing to watch at the time. I like to think that I accept people for who they are, and that I'm not a bigot in any way, shape or form, like most normal folk I guess? But I didn't realise that, way down the line, I would be expected to allow men into public toilets, into changing-rooms, into women's sports, and into women's safe spaces. We were all duped, and it's extraordinary how this ideology has taken such a hold over everyone, especially women.

Well - Pink News are obviously capitalising on this to show that there is no difference between "cis" women and trans women, but TBH I think there may have been more to the incident than we are hearing. They could well have fudged the meaning of "cis" woman now - just like Dr Uptnogood claims that he is "really female'. There is a lot more to this story IMO.

This quote: She reported the incident to a supervisor but a week later was informed that she had been sacked for failing to inform a “salaried member of management” about the interaction, which was deemed a “security risk”, she said.

How would she be sacked, and not also the supervisor that it was reported to, and who seems not to have informed the "salaried staff". Surely the supervisor should know who needs to be informed?

I don't know what this is about, but I doubt it's about what they are claiming.
