A rare common sense ruling in today's world :)

This one thread existing is the cause of so many death threats against me (being the most visible mod) and this thread is often called vile hate speech.

I'm so tired of reading that this ruling is "hateful".

Hate is women in Afghanistan and being denied in education based on their sex. It is the same women being denied access to medical treatment, not being allowed to drive or work or look out of a window or speak to female friends because of their sex, that is hatred.

Hate is the disparity between the population of men and women in countries like India and China due to baby girls being murdered at birth because of their sex.

Hate is 97%~ of men masturbating to videos of the degradation and sexual exploitation of women and girls with no concern about the welfare of the women and girls are whether those acts are consensual. Videos of women and girls being spat on, slapped, choked, of them crying while being ejaculated on, that's hate. Being seen as nothing more than a passive object for male sexual gratification is hate.

Hate is 70,000 men in a group Telegraph chat giving each other tips on how to rape their female relatives.

Women being kept out of the workforce, the arts, denied access to public life because of their sex, being viewed as intellectually, physically and morally inferior because of their sex for hundreds of years, that's hatred.

Female children being married (sold) at the age of nine to men four or five times their age, then dying in childbirth or suffering from obstetric fistula that results in them being cast out of their communities, that's hatred.

Girls having their external genitalia sliced off and sewn up, being forced to cover themselves from head to toe, iron their breasts, bind their feet, cover or uncover themselves at the whim of a man is hateful.

A third of women being victims of domestic violence is hatred. Women being murdered during sex and a court deciding they "asked for it" based on their sexual history is hatred.

Our grandmothers being kept repeatedly pregnant for a lifetime, irrespective of the risks to their health, by the men who supposedly love them, what is that if not hate?

At no point has any woman or girl been able to declare herself not a woman and identify her way out of the misery that has invariably been inflicted upon us because of our sex. And in light of all this, women being told that we can't even be the arbiter of our own experience and our own identity because some man who gets off on the idea of femininity and female oppression decides that he is in fact a woman, his feelings are more important... If that's not hatred, I don't know what is.

These men cannot even begin to grasp the female experience, but they know exactly what a woman is when the want to exploit us. Fuck the lot of them.

Today is a Good Day!!!

OK so it took 5 judges and ££££££ to declare something that our species has known since we first swung down from the trees (because otherwise, how on earth did we manage to make all those babies?) but it's still a major, major landmark for us.

Gender madness is OVER. No more stupid distorting language, no more 'extreme right wing' / 'transphobic' insults, no more hysterical oestrogen-poisoned men in PVC minidresses telling us what to say. (I might keep the word terf tho, I like it.)

Sandie Peggy better get her job back and loads of compensation. And people who've lost livelihoods, been insulted, Maya Forstater, Kathleen Stock, Julie Bindel, Graham Linehan....all deserve apologies and praise.

JKR is a huge factor in this vistory as she made it mainstream and did not stop even in the face of thousands of men and their handmaidens bullying her.

I appreciate that the Christian thing is to be magnanimous and humble in victory so I won't rub any TRAs faces in it...

NAH FUCK THAT I'M OFF TO LAUGH AT OWEN JONES, JAMES O'bRIEN AND JOLYON MAUGHAM ON TWITTER

I'm in tears. This is huge. The house of cards is falling. Here's to all the women, our mothers, our sisters, our daughters... Biological sex matters 💜 🤍 💚

As a lesbian, the relief that we no longer have to tolerate the idea that 'transbians' and 'girldick' are real things feels bloody brilliant!

I can’t believe I’m celebrating the fact that someone has had to make a legal decision that a woman is a woman and a man isn’t and never can be a woman.

What pisses me off about this whole thing is that it's only women that were being erased and dehumanised.

I never saw anyone shouting and protesting trans men are men, men's rights are trans men's rights or redefining men as people with prostates in official documentation. Yet all of this and more happened to women and people were telling us that we just had to suck it up.

Thank goodness for common sense. I still can't believe that in 2025 we had to argue biological fact and that there are people out there that want to refute science.

Self ID is dead forever, thank god. Things should never have got this far, but the Supreme Court have stepped up where cowardly politicians have failed.

Absolutely fantastic news! I couldn’t wait to finish work today to come read here, will be reading the judgement later with a glass of wine. I work in HR and one of my colleagues is a man who’s very nice, very caring and kind and we share many many same views (both pretty left wing). We’re always a bit wary of each other when we discuss sex and gender because of our jobs and because I’ve made it clear that I’m a bit (lot) terfy and and he’s a bit woke. It was just us in the office today and we naturally spoke about the judgement and he basically agreed with the judgement, admitted he doesn’t really think you can change sex and compared trans affirming care to prescribing mounjaro to anorexics! I was shocked! I think the judgement gave him the confidence to say what he’s thought all along but didn’t think he could say

Just to say, cheers everyone 🥂 This is massive. I really couldn't stop grinning today (except for when I had a little cry).

Here's to everyone who has spoken up in any small way - or even if you couldn't and just quietly refused to comply! Here's to us all ❤
