I feel the same way. His stand-up was so surreal and original and I loved his image. He's not funny any more and for some reason, he's lost the ability to apply or choose lipstick properly.I loved him precisely BECAUSE, at the time, he said that wearing dresses and heels and makeup DIDN'T make him a woman. He was a man who liked to dress that way (still is). He wasn't, back then, saying that clothes and makeup are what women are. Quite the opposite, because look at this obvious man wearing that stuff and owning it as a man. And I know how stupid this sounds now, but he never SEEMED to be doing it because he got off on it. He truly just seemed to enjoy wearing it and didn't ask for anything more than to wear it in peace while he left women's spaces alone.
We couldn't have known back then what it really was. Stupidest thing of all is that he's actually said he doesn't mind being called he/him, so why do so many mats use the wrong pronouns when he doesn't even request it?
He always glosses over his beardy-man, bored of makeup, movie bad guy period.
