I feel the same way. His stand-up was so surreal and original and I loved his image. He's not funny any more and for some reason, he's lost the ability to apply or choose lipstick properly.
I agree that it's not good to use that word as an insult for men, but there isn't a male word that seems equivalent.
It comes from the Latin for "tunnel"! It's not Anglo-Saxon like a lot of swearwords.
I went to see him in 1996 and felt bad for not finding him funny when all my friends were laughing. When he kept going on about being a les trapped in a man’s body (and he mentioned this in his routine several times), it just made me feel uneasy. I think the people I went with thought I’d had a sense of humour bypass.
I spearlike a docker, too - except for that word. I don't know why but if makes me feel physically as though I've been punched. I did use it once when I was so shocked by something that it just exploded. (Can't even remember who pissed me off now - I did mention t on one of these threads.). Mr Mice, whio I have heard swear twice in 46 years (and then he just said "bloody"), and who is used to my 4-letter obscentities was shocked.

I feel the same @TheMiceInTheShed . I swear a lot too, but I detest that word. I never use it, I couldn’t even bring myself to type it, yet laugh at people who get het up over ”duck”. I think it’s just a word, but the “c” word I just find vile rather than even shocking to be honest. Hypocritical I know, but I just find it loathsome, it’s not for me.
I just think calling someone, usually a man, a bleep, when it's a crude word for female anatomy is derogatory to the female body. That's why we need an equally blunt word to call men. gob and wick just doesn't do it in the same way.
Yes, I feel like witch is used in a horribly and specifically misogynist way that bleep isn't.

Yes, there’s something vile about witch, especially describing a woman as a “stupid witch”. It’s really misogynistic. Not a fan of any female related insults to be honest (also stupid cow). Fucker is my go to, not that I’d use any to anyone’s face.
I feel the same re: witch and cow. Oddly, "cowbag" doesn't sicken me so much.
So very true. Plus qualities admired in men are seen as things to belittle in women.
