When I was younger, AGP's were called transvestites. They were often asked to come onto daytime TV shows where there would be a discussion about how they liked to go out in public dressed as a female, they would often have their long-suffering wife with them, who would always confirm that they were still happily married and that they were learning to live with their husband's strange little habits. The audience would be split between those who shrugged and said that it didn't bother them, and it was no-one else's business, and those who thought they were perverts who needed locking up, or at least a few sessions with a shrink. Meanwhile, us viewers would point and laugh and would tell our husbands and boyfriends how they'd be kicked out onto the street if we ever came home and caught them prancing around in our underwear.

I honestly don't know how they managed to change public opinion so successfully and in such a short space of time. To oldies like me, the thought of a tr@nnie coming into our toilets with such a perfect sense of entitlement, is unthinkable, what man would do such a thing, even if wearing a dress? As for these men who compete in women's sporting events, words just fail me. It's like living in a clown world, where nothing makes sense and everything is topsy-turvy.
I know that we can sit here and blame porn, the Internet and whatever else, but honestly, women can be their own worst enemy sometimes. We've sat back and let men just take everything. We've mooned over men wearing womanface, we've given perverts like Eddie Izzard free rein to grope himself in our toilets, we've laughed as flashers show their genitals on mainstream telly, and we've bent over backwards to accommodate every cross-dressing weirdo who prances before us, declaring that he's a better woman than we'll ever be. Still, at least we're being "kind" 🤮.
Thank god for our few safe spaces. This thread. The good terfs on X and other SM. The women who are shouting loudly every single day to try to protect women and girls. The rare and precious celebrities who put their head on the block when they publicly support us. The lawyers who are upholding our rights and protections. There is hope. And light at the end of the tunnel (even if it is Trump holding the torch!) We've kicked mens arses before, and we'll do it again. I love men, I really do. But I'm never bowing to the demands of transvestites. Sorry, but no.
This was the case even in the LGBT community up until not that long ago. T was transsexual. They were accepted in the community and were a relatively small minority and generally same-sex attracted. There were drag queens, who were gay men, and there were transvestites/cross dressers, primarily heterosexual men, and tolerated but nobody thought they were women, they were just blokes in dresses and makeup enjoying the relative safety of the gay community. No doubt the existed on a spectrum from harmless character to deviant AGP, but the latter AGPs have pulled off a fucking staggering act of manipulation to manage to weasel their way into the mainstream like they have.

Lesbian bars existed then, and there's none left now. The rise of the AGP "trans lesbian" and the disappearance of actual lesbians from the gay scene is no coincidence.

Someone I once knew had a baby as a teenager. She was young and not prepared to make the sacrifices you do as a parent and her mother ended up raising the baby and when she eventually moved out she left the baby with its grandmother. Now, she’s “transitioning” in her late 30’s and all I’ve is everyone talking about what a wonderful thing this is and her not wanting to raise the baby is obviously because she was a man in the first place 🙄

The mind boggles…

I’ve just about had it with this shit. Women as collateral for men’s fetishes
I’m sick of this shit too. Just no! If a trans identified male only feels validated by being allowed to strip search women then he’s nothing more than a sexual predator and should be nowhere near women at all.

I saw this pop up on 'threads' - the book community can be self-righteous arse'holes always cancelling authors for anything that doesn't whiff of the blue-hair-double-think. I think I will buy this book out of solidarity.
They have a particular problem with Chimamanda, because they like to co-opt black people into the alphabet soup in an attempt to make terfs look racist. They really hate it when black women in particular disagree with them. See also: Kemi Badenoch, Allison Bailey. It's supposedly GC people who are racist, when it's the bluehairs who assume all black and brown people are a leftist, rainbow-warrior hive mind, rather than a large and diverse group of people with many differing opinions.

I had an early miscarriage, I hadn't long known I was pregnant (my period was two days late when I did a positive test, and two days later I started bleeding, so it was very early).

I called 111 and they told me to call the early pregnancy unit at my local hospital, which I did, and they were so, so rude. The woman I spoke to, who I think was a nurse, basically said "what do you want us to do about it?" asked something along the lines of, "were you going to get rid of it?" so aggressively I was genuinely lost for words.

I hadn't been with my partner long then and in all honesty I hadn't had time to get my head around it, tell anyone or even consider what I was going to do, which had become a none issue since was bleeding and in pain and it was fairly obvious it was over before it had begun. Obviously 111 advise hospital incase it's an incomplete miscarriage, you've got the dates wrong, it's ectopic etc.

I'm in my 30s and able to advocate for myself (and I work adjacent to NHS complaints so I know what's what) but what if I'd been a teenager, or someone more vulnerable or less clued in than me, who didn't know the signs of an ectopic pregnancy and I'd been totally put off going to hospital? In the end I was fine, but their attitude was just totally devoid of empathy. There are women who will have needed more support and medical care than I did and they won't have got it.

I wish I'd complained and honestly I'd slap that woman silly if I knew who she was. There are some absolute shockers working for the NHS, I wouldn't speak to my enemies with that piss poor attitude.

It's nothing compared to having a traumatic birth or losing a baby, but it massively impacted my trust in the NHS.
i had a similar experience. I wasn’t sure what to do so went to A&E as I was in a lot of pain. I was approx 9 weeks. Again a very “what do you want us to do about it?” attitude.
After examination the nurse showed me the ‘product’ as she called it, that came away during the exam. She then threw it in the clinical waste bin beside me.
I gave never cried so much in my whole life I was devastated. It was a very much wanted pregnancy. 😔

I spoke to someone yesterday whose granddaughter has to change and share school loos with 'transgirls'. Apparently when they're changing, all the girls are huddled, trying to keep themselves hidden.

I’m seeing this being posted as a massive win for the compelled pronouns people - that they just call men women now because we won’t call men women. Why is this a win? It’s just proving how fictional calling a man a woman is? I think I sprained my eye again.
Yeah, people have been calling JKR he/him for ages and I truly don't see how they don't understand that it's only proving that pronouns don't change a person's sex. Perhaps they're trying to hurt her feelings? But when you know that your sex is a material reality and your self image isn't governed by how other people refer to you, why would that be hurtful? It isn't even innately hurtful to be called a man, it's just factually inaccurate when applied to a woman. May as well call her a parrot, a guitar or a golfing umbrella.

I'm currently on the job hunt and had a rather promising "meet the team" yesterday. One of the ladies introduced herself as "living with my wife", which is obviously more than cool with me. At some point the conversation turned to books as I had mentioned I love reading and was asked who my favourite author is. I frankly didn't feel able to say JKR, even though she is, as I'm not sure how that would be received. I've learned this three weeks into my last job, first proper team meet, where I mentioned that I enjoy her books a lot and was prompty told that I can basically fuck off for "supporting someone who is against trans rights". One of the guys at the table mentioned he had never heard of that issue, I chose to not elaborate in that setting as I was so very new to the team.
Cue to a few weeks later, the same guy who never heard of it before told me that JKR is against trans people. I challenged him whether he had ever looked up what JKR actually said, of course he hadn't. He wasn't a nice person anyway, but it just highlighted to me how quickly some narratives are simply taken by people without any thinking, without any checking and further spread out. So, next time I'll have an interview like that, I'll come better prepared as I stumbled through some other authors.
I work in public service so I've found the best way is to keep your mouth firmly closed about anything other than work. Never tell your colleagues who you vote for or what your views are on sensitive subjects. If anyone asks me what I did at the weekend I just say that I went out with friends and leave everything as vague as possible. The only thing that it's safe to talk about apart from work is possibly a TV show you've seen but I don't generally bother with that either because I simply don't care what my colleagues think about anything.

I know there's people who will say this is cowardly but we go to work to do a job. I don't care if my colleagues think I'm the most boring woman on earth because I tell them nothing of any value. They're not my friends and I don't expect them to be.

Good luck with the job searching and if they ask you about books again just give a vague answer like you enjoy crime/romance or whatever. Don't set yourself up to let others judge you. Be really boring like me xx

And that's his attempt at being feminine. There's another pic I can't find now when he's not trying and the man is a unit and a half. I've got dinner plates smaller than those hands.

It might be on the Wings Over Scotland X account if anyone can look (I can't right now).
This one? I didn’t include it because it seemed so fucking INSANE that the NHS would possibly tell this ugly hulking bloke he can go into women’s changing rooms because he wants to

So it seems that an internal investigation into Upton‘s allegations against Sandie Peggie of patient neglect found they were entirely fictitious as it seemed in the tribunal. What a nasty nasty shit he is

How bloody dare he 😡. He’s a poisonous POS who needs sacking for his vicious and vexatious complaints, all made because his narcissistic personality couldn’t tolerate a woman not going along with his fantasy.

It's the whole "HBO are only doing this to make money" Erm, yeah, that's kind of the point. Honestly I despair of young people sometimes - for a generation who buys into the whole buy as much stuff as you can to signify your "tribe", they don't really seem to understand capitalism.

Sorry if someone’s already posted about this… Niomi Smart (usually great thread!) had the audacity to mention the word ‘womb’ in her IWD post. Cue comments about sounding like the ‘sort of rubbish JKR spouts’… I would hate to be a trans man reading that’ 😆😆🤦🏻‍♀️ So, a woman then yeh?! I just want to reach through screens and shake WOMEN who are so caught up in this GI bullshit. The ‘rubbish’ jkr is ‘spouting’ is helping to dismantle the whole movement. Those ‘trans men’ you care about are most likely fucked up lesbians. Women have wombs. Women use those wombs to grow other humans. I don’t think it’s offensive to be amazed at what we do, but of course we have to think about all the poor fucking trans people who do or don’t have wombs because they’re MEN or they’ve chosen to have theirs removed and they’re STILL women! Honestly just jet me off this planet.

Just seen this on Twitter - another court case. This time, an ex-staff member is suing Nottingham College - he says:

I am taking them to an employment tribunal after they fired me for informing a student’s mother that the college staff had socially transitioned her vulnerable 16-year-old daughter. They were actively withholding this information from the mother, and had told all staff not to inform her.

If I was the parent, I'd be LIVID at the college for this.

The full details are on his fundraiser page - more descriptive that his Twitter which is full of nasty comments.
