My heart bleeds. . . .
Make up, you say?
And girls' clothes?
And yet they still could tell?
It's beyond comprehension.
My heart bleeds. . . .
Wow, fair play to Esther for being so straight up about all of this. I admit I'm quite shocked. The trans brigade imo used the murder of this kid to attempt to further their agenda. It sounds like the Mum is actually being very self reflective and realistic. Her son was an extremely messed up kid who needed help. I agree about the state of his social media, I saw some stuff that has since been erased which was horrendous given his age and mental state.Has anyone seen this? Esther Ghey is releasing a book next week and this is an interview with her for the guardian. Brett was a very troubled boy and it seems nobody was able to say no to him. It seems she knew the kind of sites he was accessing, his online behaviour and how seriously it was affecting him but just let him carry on because she didn’t want to isolate him? Is it really that hard to stop teenagers from this excessive phone use? My child is still primary age so maybe I’m a bit naive to this. I know social media companies should do a lot more to prevent harmful content but where is the parental responsibility? He was a child! She also says her own mum called social services on her when the kids were younger. Just so many red flags here. I said this on the last thread but you never see trans identified people with emotionally healthy childhoods. Brett was no exception. Wonder what people will think of her ‘deadnaming’ him throughout the book.
This is the thing. How many of us would deliberately try to enter a space that is specifically not for us? I wouldn't dream of trying to join a group for survivors of breast cancer, people fleeing war in Ukraine or for teenage dads. Those spaces are designed for a specific demographic - which doesn't include me - so I wouldn't try to join. There are plenty of groups for my demographic. Just stay away from spaces that aren't designated for you.Just stay away. Easy. Don't fit the criteria, don't go. It is not your space so don't even go near it.
Recently saw a TIM post a selfie celebrating his first trip to the supermarket without any make up on. I'm an actual woman, who has been to the supermarket without make up on more times than I can count. Guess how many commemorative selfies I've taken? That's right. When they say "living as a woman", they think we spend our days painting our nails and plaiting tampons or whatever. They truly do not think we're people with an inner life and they comprehend none of the work that we do. So male.
Oh, same! If I had a quid for every time some hard-of-thinking dipshit called me transphobic I could retire, but they have no answer and show themselves up when they to resort to name calling, so I'm happy to take it.I’ve been causing arguments in TikTok comments over the past couple of days. I don’t recommend it - too bad for the blood pressure - but my GOD the stupid brainwashed young women and their hot takes about the female only gym issue…
Sometimes I think we really are fucked if Gen Z all think like this.
I’m just going to post this anywhere and everywhere nowHad a comment I made on a TikTok about the women’s only gym for “violating community guidelines”
My comment: “unfortunately, trans women are men who believe they are women and biological women aren’t to know which men are safe and which aren’t, so female only spaces are essential.”
What has the world come to when you can’t even say the truth…
My husband never really got it until I waited for the crucial moment and then shouted, "I identify as a man! This is now gay sex because I have a male vagina! You can't argue, that would be transphobic! You can't dictate how to be a man!"I peaked my husband by telling him I declare myself to be a trans man and congrats!! You are now an out and proud gay man darling. And if he had a problem with that he was a transphobic bigot who refused to accept that I'm male with a male vagina and it was literal violence to suggest anything otherwise.
This is a perfect example of the misogyny. Men NEVER have to compromise any of their identity or being, while women are merely described as body parts and functions or as any random weird male that likes to get dressed up as a woman. It’s so fucking demeaning .'People with breasts are statistically less likely to receive bystander CPR than men, let's change that.'
Why doesn’t it say “'People with breasts are statistically less likely to receive bystander CPR than people with penises, let's change that.'
What angers me the most with a lot of stuff like this is it’s only ever one way. The misogyny is disgusting. They can’t even pretend it’s to be inclusive. What goes through their minds when they write this stuff? Do they even have a conversation about whether to change ‘men’ to ‘people with penises’? Or is their misogyny so ingrained they don’t even notice they are only erasing the word woman and men will always be men?
I had an early miscarriage, I hadn't long known I was pregnant (my period was two days late when I did a positive test, and two days later I started bleeding, so it was very early).Again and again, the NHS make monstrous fuck ups in maternity care and mysteriously “lose” the evidence of who fucked up.
There have been two stories in The Times recently about babies dying due to mismanaged labours.
In one case it was a hospital with an aggressively pro-vaginal birth stance refusing to do a c section even when all the evidence pointed to one. In the other it was midwives sneering at a woman who’d been in labour for about six days that she wasn’t in labour, and they weren’t admitting her. Both babies were stillborn.
What unites all these stories is misogyny, more often than not peddled by midwives.

He hanged himself. I'm sorry for his victims who will no longer get justice by means of a conviction - the updated story on the BBC notes victims aged three and five as well as the "under 13 year old". I might complain to the BBC about the pronouns, I'm sick to the back teeth of them mis-sexing rapists. That’s exactly what has happened. He’s escaped justice but it’s certainly no loss to society.
My partner works with PMLD people in a council-run day centre. The local authority wanted male members of staff to provide personal care to female attendees under the guise of ‘equality’. Normally men would care for the males, and female staff would care for the females. It just made sense. This makes me feel sick. The thought that you won’t be able to protect your child when you’re no longer here is something that is on the mind of every parent of a disabled or vulnerable child 24/7. To add this additional layer of worry for the parents is just cruel.
