I thought the same thing! But I suspect it may be one of many on the same subject so I’d rather speak to the teacher / head and explain that I don’t want my child being exposed to this. I suppose my question is how to word that and ultimately do I have a leg to stand on in this climate?!
Absolutely yes. I did that. Write a letter. Put in writing that you are concerned this book was given to your child and you don’t want her exposed to gender ideology as you think it is harmful. Mention that you want to confirm safeguarding procedures in school that they will provide single sex toilets and changing facilities. Threaten them with a safeguarding report if they do not conform this. Ask if this book was on the list of PSHE books they are supposed to tell you about and if not why was it given out?
You will not be the only parent concerned about this.

I'm not sure who I despise the most: The stinking bleeping creep Bow-Grace, the parents who let their kids within fifty feet of him, the Open University for sponsoring him, or the shitbag political classes who have made a career out of normalising this stuff
What the duck is wrong with the parents?! He has a two seater car so a parent can’t even go along.

Why does all safeguarding go out of the window as soon as people see a man in a dress?!

This is the freak that I mentioned when I first joined this thread. I encountered him at the Autism Show in 2023, parading himself as above but in a more revealing top. He was being paid as one of the speakers. There are so many vulnerable kids and teens at that event and he was wandering around holding that bleeping teddy talking to them. My son and I were so angry we had to walk out. I don’t care what anyone says, he’s a bloody groomer in plain sight. This is not normal and I don’t know why the duck the (captured) National Autistic Society are going along with this tit.

Just checked and he was at this year’s Autism Show as well.

Advice needed - I want to start HRT - I’m 44. In the last year I have not changed my eating and exercise habits except for the better but I have gained so much weight all around my waist. Sleeping badly, lacking concentration. I’ve done my research, I don’t see how I can battle my hormones with exercise alone. So how do o get my GP on board. I have a telephone appointment next week.

Our surgery has a dedicated nurse practitioner for this, although apparently you are supposed to see a GP first.
You might find they are already on board as there have been a lot of changes in recent years, particularly in the workplace with reasonable adjustments etc.
A few years ago we had an overzealous nurse who was trying to get everyone on HRT, including a woman in her 30s who had been told by an oncologist that she should never take it.

Thank you. I was thinking of raising the issue in the parents WhatsApp group to see if anyone else has had the same concerns, I just don’t want to get just labelled transphobic and get a load of grief. God it’s such a bloody minefield these days!!

I think going to the school first is a better idea. I wouldn’t want to get drawn into a discussion on WhatsApp, no doubt with some people who would insist that I was being “unkind” or a bigot.

I wouldn't do that - it's so hard to get a point across on a text and you risk all the sniping. I'd just make your point directly to the school as previous posters have said. Remember, you are right, you're not being difficult or raising something that should be controversial. It's child safeguarding - as backed up by the Cass report.

Selena has lupus and a kidney transplant. It wouldn’t surprise me if she’s been advised it would be risky. I also believe (because I’m 42 so not down with young ones) that she came out with this because her ex Justin Beiber has had a baby with his wife and people were commenting and asking if she’ll follow suit soon (which as someone struggling is understandably tough)

But as you say, the fact we think this first says a lot
Oh, I didn't know that about Selena, I feel bad now, though you are right that without knowing that's exactly where my mind went.
So many celebs do this.

I'm on there and posted.
It's madness, hopefully she'll realise what she's been supporting.

@Nettynoo without outing myself this was what happened with my complaint...
A charity came into the school to speak to the juniors. They tried to shock and frighten them in order to keep them from a life of crime. They were a small charity and completely misjudged their audience who were nice little children, keen to do well and still reading children's books. The children were very, very upset and so were the parents. The Head was absent on the day. She told me she was unaware of the content of the sessions, but they had been arranged by the local authority. I emailed them and got a snotty response. I then rang the D of E who confirmed this was inappropriate and gave me lots of info. I then complained to the local authority again, this time telling them what the D of E had said. The L A asked for a meeting with myself and the Head. The person that had originally fobbed me off came with someone more senior and...they couldn't apologise enough. They admitted that they had allowed these sessions to be rolled out in Primary Schools without checking the content. Myself and the Head were shocked. They then had the lovely experience of sitting there while I told them at great length exactly where they had gone wrong and explained how communication has to be pitched at the appropriate level for the audience. Both myself and the Head berated them for not checking the content.
I think the turning point was when I said that I had spoken to the D of E and what their response was.

It’s been alleged that her “lupus” is a ruse to hide the fact she destroyed her kidneys with drug use. It’s also said that the reason she fell out with the friend who gave her a kidney, is said friend was pissed off that she went back to unhealthy habits after recovering from the surgery.

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if she bought a baby one day.

What a badass you are 😍

It does not surprise me one iota that the content of the presentation wasn’t checked. I think it’s partly incompetence, but mostly driven by the naive idea that these charities, by virtue of their very existence, must be good.

On a lighter note and on topic...
Years ago, I was in a country park with friends. I ended up taking 2 boys to the toilet. They were too old to go in the ladies, so I stood at the door of the men's. When they went in, I called out "Is there anyone in there?". One of them replied "Yeah, there's one man, but he looks alright!"
You should have seen the filthy look he gave me when he came out - which made me laugh even harder. :ROFLMAO:
