Like it or not, as women it has been ingrained into our subconsciousness that we are ‘lesser’ than men. Even if you’ve had the most intellectually feminist upbringing, the way society is set up, the way men behave, the fact that they are stronger, the way their louder voices dominate, the emphasis on #be kind…

I am consciously aware of all those things, yet if a guy is walking towards me on the pavement, I still instinctively move out of the way, thus confirming his dominance. The times I have said to myself, ‘no, why should I move?’ and held the line, the blokes just don’t move over and will almost walk into you. Those that do eventually sidestep, you can hear them muttering under their breath or see them give you a dirty look. It’s so different with women, with both parties usually adjusting their trajectory way before hand.

I play this game all the time. Hold my line on the pavement and see what men do. My favourite moment was a man shouting abuse at me because I didn't move out of the way and we bumped arms as we passed. He saw no reason why he should have moved. I remember doing this when I was walking with my husband. I walked ahead of him and he was shocked at how often I was expected to move. He presumed men would have a chivalrous attitude and move out of the way for women. It made him examine how he walks and whether he does this or not

THE DAILY MAIL: The Church of England’s proposed school’s guidance will push gender identity ideology onto children.

The Church of England has produced an anti-bullying guidance document called Flourishing For All which is set to be issued to thousands of C of E faith schools. Supported by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, this guidance encourages teachers to dispense with so-called ‘outdated’ (ie factual) terms and pushes the language of gender identity ideology.

The document refers to a ‘transgender man’ as someone “Who was assigned female at birth but identifies and lives as a man”, and to a ‘transgender woman’ as someone “Who was assigned male at birth but identifies and lives as a woman”.

There are currently 4,630 Anglican schools, teaching around one million pupils. These children could soon be subjected to the C of E’s new doctrine of gender. This will conflict with the Department for Education's draft guidance which states that pupils must not be taught about the ‘concept of gender identity’.

Stephanie Davies-Arai of Transgender Trend commented, “Biological reality is not 'outdated', and it is worrying that the C of E thinks it is. Knowing that sex can't be changed is not an old-fashioned idea, but basic reality”

I'm an Anglican licensed minister (Reader) but I'll go over to Rome if this continues.

I wish Welby would just f*ck off and let us get things to rights again. The CofE still doesn't (officially) agree that gay people are acceptable to God - but they'll peddle this dangerous, child-abusive, damaging shyte!

Why is the BBC so obsessed with drag queens? The country could be hit by a nuclear bomb and they'd still be running articles like 'what nuclear fallout means for drag queens and 50 ways you can help'.

I don't hate drag as a concept (although I can see why people do), but we're so far now from anything actually funny or requiring talent. It just seems like 'become a drag queen' has become the go-to lifestyle choice for a particular type of woman-hating man so long as he clear the very low bar of applying makeup (badly) and yelling in a wig. Oh great, here's another guy whose drag name is Whoredry Hepburn caked in cheap foundation and calling drunk women bitches over brunch. That's really problematising gender.

I don’t get the intense focus on drag either. I genuinely don’t get how it supposedly promotes ‘inclusivity’; ‘drag’ is not a protected or innate characteristic, it’s a performance genre.

I know the “bathroom debate” hasn’t been discussed much on here of late, but today something happened that really brought home to me that we need to protect our spaces. I went into the loo at work, and a male domestic was cleaning the bathroom. It was just me and him. I felt very uncomfortable, I even asked him if I’d gone into the men’s by mistake, as I couldn’t see a sanitary bin in the cubicle. Nothing happened but I did feel uncomfortable. I had this debate with a typical trans ideologist friend on Friday night, and she accused me of “demonising a group of “Women””. I used the Darlington NHS changing room TIM as an example. She said that it’s just one extreme example. I said well what if women who have been SA’d feel uncomfortable, and she glossed over that and said well “people should be free to live their lives”. How is it so wrong to say that women don’t want penises in vulnerable spaces? It really blows my mind how people have been so brainwashed. This thread gives me hope.

The best way to deal with people like your friend is to tell them that in the UK women's rights charter, women are entitled to single sex spaces, sports categories etc. THIS IS OUR HUMAN RIGHTS.

Then empathise with trans people, but state it is fact that you cannot change your sex. Ask why can't they open up the male facilities to be sex neutral? This would appease everybody. (Surely?)

Then add, if this isn't agreeable then TRA's need to find another way. Forcing women to accept men in our spaces and making the women's sex category mixed sex is not an option. Women, must be the sole focus in women's rights.

That tends to shut them up.

Sorry if this is too sensible but how do they know the increase in suicides after 2020 is due to the puberty blocker stuff. If you’ve already got mental health issues (which seems to be common amongst younger people wanting to transition) wouldn’t - perhaps - a massive lockdown cause a decline in mental health which may lead to suicidal thoughts?

The pandemic worsened my anxiety, which I’d previously been able to manage, to the extent that I had to go back to therapy for a bit.

Or is this me being far too logical and not dramatic enough?

Actually, am old and can quite clearly remember this sort of behaviour on the streets from men who were born and bred Brits, I find all this blame the immigrants stuff quite puzzling.

Apparently, Mridul Wadhwa, the TIM who is chief exec of the Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre, has been put on leave since May after his appalling behaviour towards a counsellor with GC views and support for a male sex offender. Great reporting by the Times who accurately describe Wadhwa as ‘a man who identifies as a woman.’

Its a huge thing for anyone to say “actually, I’ve looked into this, there’s a lot more to it than I originally thought, and I now think I was too hasty in my initial opinion”.

So the Equalities and Human Rights Commission has issued updated guidance to employers saying that self-identifying trans women should not be considered for female-only positions. That sounds great, but then the kicker: transwomen with a GRC can be considered for those positions as their 'legal sex' is now female.

Given that Labour are planning to make it easier for transpeople to get a GRC, this is actually a very bad position. A man with a GRC certificate is still a man. I honestly don't understand why this is even an issue. Most transgender people don't medically transition at all, but even if they did, they are still biologically the sex that they are born.

So, we will still have situations such as the Edinburgh rape crisis centre being run by a biological man. And in fact they will be more frequent as this guidance endorses this if the person gets a GRC. What don't people understand about biological sex being immutable? Coming from the EHRC, this actually really depresses me as this is a body that is supposed to protect us and not throw us under the bus officially.

GRC were never intended for this purpose of allowing a legal fiction to be acted upon as if it were a reality. They were meant to be for a very, very, small number of people and for limited purposes. I don't believe that when the GRC Act was passed, it was envisaged that it would be used this way. i.e. as if having a GRC was really the equivalent of having changed sex. I'm really shocked and saddened by this interpretation by the EHRC. And imagine how bad things will be if Harriet Harman takes over from Baroness Faulkner: she'll probably overrule this and allow for self-id.

You have to be extremely stupid or a total ghoul or both, to think that the natural development of children and young adults should be stunted by medication on the basis of an ideology that has no internal logic whatsoever.

It’s quite something that those who support destroying a child’s future chance of various adult functions position themselves online as “kind, inclusive,” etc whereas those who say, “hey maybe this isn’t a good idea?” are derided as “bigots.”

Anyone who says puberty blockers are harmless and “save lives” should be invited to report back having watched “I Am Jazz” whether artificially restricting a child’s development resulted in a happy, well-balanced adult with all all adult function in that case.

I honestly think the people in favour of this (in addition to the vested interest parents of trans kids who can’t go back, as Helen Joyce noted) simply do not understand the medical consequences of what they are advocating. They think there is such a thing as “trans”, that some kids are this, and that there is “medical treatment” that would help the condition that kids are being “denied.” Rather than the reality, which is the horror of restricting a young person’s natural development with lifelong consequences and no proper way back.

Incidentally, I’ve noticed a real misinformation drive on Twitter lately, a lot more people claiming that puberty blockers are reversible. I assume a memo went out to all the idiots and / or ghouls out there to push that idea.

I'm unable to quote from last thread but the person who posted on the crime thread and here about all the different "men" had committed crimes as a woman. The one recently in Scotland where the girl was walking home and got a lift from a "woman" who turned out to be a man in a wig and he kidnapped her and assaulted her. She had to wait until he fell asleep to phone the police. Then don't get me started on the whole Isla Bryson thing, he is a man, should have never went to a woman's prison and the only reason he is trans is to save him going to a male prison. He claims he's been discriminated by staff and other prisoners and wants to sue. Mate, you are a rapist first of all so get off your high horse and be a man that you are.

I’m baffled that the CofE, or indeed any religion, would take the line that transgenderism is ‘real’, as surely someone being ‘born in the wrong body’ is evidence that ‘God got it wrong’

I have the same bafflement about anyone working in medicine. It completely undermines their credibility, and fitness to practise.
