Does anyone here have Instagram? I keep seeing recommended 'threads' posts (as in, Facebook/Instagram's version of Twitter), and almost always every recommended 'random' post is about trans and TRAs crying transphobia, you know those type of posters who write as though they are intellectuals? I don't search for trans stuff on Facebook or Instagram so technically the algorithm shouldn't be disproportionately pushing those suggestions at me... Just wondered if Meta/Facebook/Instagram/threads is deliberately pushing trans posts with often scathing attacks on women and 'cis' (🤢 hate that term) people, or, if it's just that the type of people who post on Threads are of the TRA brigade echo chamber. It seems like 90% of the recommended threads posts i see in my Facebook or Instagram feed are trans related. I don't post on threads so it's not like i am engaging with those buzzwords.

Just feels suspicious.

Keep blocking them . I've blocked hundreds of ads, posts , posters , even if they've been recommended.

I can recommend it! It takes 2 seconds & is very therapeutic 😎

I follow an increasing number of "TERF" accounts, maybe that's why I don't see so many "opposing views" but anything that appears in my timeline as an ad or a recommended account that has even a suggestion of TWAW, TRA etc is immediately blocked.

Editing to add. Just saw a recommended post from "womengetangrier" :

Lesbianism is a civil rights movement mistaken for a porn category. Transgenderism is a porn category mistaken for a civil rights movement"

Liked. Started following womengetangrier.

One thing I struggle to understand is how someone can have their actual birth certificate changed. Surely this shouldn't be allowed? It's patently an untruth

Yes I agree. Their descendents looking up their family trees are going to be very confused in 100 years time 😄
I guess it's fine to have passports or driving licences in your new name but birth certificates is stretching it too far.

Absolutely!

If they must have the right to change details on documents, birth sex (which is feck all to do with "gender") should remain the same, or at least a note should be made of it.

And sex offenders shouldn't be allowed to just put their pasts behind them and start again as "women" with new names. It is far too dangerous - but then it's only women and children who are suffering, so that doesn't really matter, does it? 😡

What next? We can have our GCSE/A Level/Degree certificates changed to reflect our *feelings* about what our grades should be?

While you are at it might as well put down on your CV that you have an Oxbridge PhD in Astrophysics or something. Well, if we can lie about facts, why not?! 🤷‍♀️😜

I feel like an Oxbridge Astrophysics graduate, therefore I am one. It's literal genocide to question otherwise.

Love, support and solidarity to a baying mob of threatening, aggressive males attacking peacefully protesting women. Do the general public have any idea how awful these MEN behave? Or do they imagine Hailey Cropper from Coronation Street when they think of TIM, not violent, woman loathing creepy bullies.
Hayley Cropper who was played by a female actress. I honestly blame Corrie a lot for making her the first face of a TIM - an actual woman. No wonder people were confused. If it has been Eddie Izzard in girl mode no one would have cared for that storyline.

Just seen
Lovely optics right there - white man talking down to a black woman. These misogynists are gleeful in their new rights to belittle and shout at women in power.

It is very true that Hayley Cropper probably had much more impact than any law changes given Corrie’s viewership, and it wasn’t a good one. Played by a woman and a diminutive one too, and interested in men and not in badgering women to validate some weird lesbian fantasy or “get over” their discomfort. Quite rare these days.

I was having trouble peaking my 70-year old father, who is a “live and let live” kind of guy, but Eddie Izzard has managed it. “Why is he being called ‘she’??” my father asked me, quite annoyed at the insult to his intelligence.

Tennant is the right sort of misogynist of course. Married to a much younger wife and what is it now, 40% of his children claim to be non-binary? That means he can be incredibly rude if not hateful to women of colour, he’s on the “right side of history,” don’t you know.
