What makes me mad when women say they don't want to change with men are comments smugly declaring "so what, lesbians exist?"
Men have sexually molested and behaved inappropriately to me ever since I can remember. When I was in first grade, a guy would wait for us and try to talk us into looking at his ponies, rabbits and guinea pigs. When I was 10, guys would touch me at the pool or try to catch a glimpse of me changing. When I was 12, a guy flashed his erection at me on an empty train. When I was 13, random strangers on the street would whistle and catcall me. At 18 I had an experience I'd describe as a date grape. And so on and so forth until now in my 30s when the most recent experience was being at a naturist spa in the sauna and some guy came and sat inappropriately close to stare at me in a sauna empty except for me and my husband on the other side. I didn't even notice, but my husband did, and sat up and looked at the guy until he left. I didn't feel threatened, but absolutely would have had I been alone.
I know for sure that my experiences are neither exceptional nor even especially bad when compared to the experiences other women have had. I thus feel confident in saying that every woman has had many experiences with men being inappropriate, violent and threatening.
Now I'm sure that in my many years on this Earth, I have come across lesbians in the public domain. I'm sure I've changed with them, showered with them, been in a pool, club or empty train with them. Not once ever has any woman behaved sexually inappropriate to me, grape me, groped me, flashed me, catcalled me, continued to aggressively "flirt" or push for more after I've made clear that i wasn't interested, etc
I have not once in my life been threatened nor even made uncomfortable by lesbians. Because they are women, and behave as such.
Men, on the other hand, are a very different story.
