I'm going to keep an eye on this story and how it develops. The organiser of a lesbian speed dating event is in trouble for 'transphobia' for stating that the event is only open to 'adult human females'. She stated explicitly that 'if you're male, then you're not a lesbian', after she says that last year a person turned up sporting purple latex and an erection:

As is to be expected, members of an activist group reported her to her employer, and now the pub that holds the events is also looking into the matter.

This is madness. If you're a lesbian, then you aren't attracted to people with a male body. It's just that simple. I'm heterosexual, and I can state categorically that I would not be attracted to a transman - and most definitely not to one who hadn't had surgery. Does that make me transphobic? No, it just means that I, as an adult female, am only attracted to adult males. I don't care what you call yourself, if you're not an adult male, then for dating purposes, you're wasting my time and you shouldn't be in a potential pool of biological men if I'm looking for a date.

I feel so sorry for lesbians because they are at the forefront of this misogynistic inability to understand that if you're same-sex attracted, that generally means physical sex, and not the sex someone decides in their head that they are. Gay men don't have the same pressure from transmen.
Even if the organiser relents, and let’s erection purple latex man attend, he will scream transphobia if no-one “matches” with him. Which is highly likely. Because not only must he be allowed to attend, but he must also be the central figure and have the opportunity to date/sleep with any lesbian he damn well chooses under pain of ostracism.

How the hell did we arrive at this ridiculous situation? Haven’t we had dating events and websites that cater exclusively towards certain groups for years, without legal proceedings? It would never even enter my consciousness to try to register on a Muslim only introduction site. This is literally insane.

Some men do get breast cancer though it’s about 1% of new diagnoses I believe. I wonder what effect female hormones would have on the individual’s illness trajectory if it was a trans patient? I’m guessing not a great deal of research has been done as there is no money to be made from treating rare cancers.
I've always been led to believe that men with a lot of breast tissue or gynecomastia were at the highest risk for this, but it might not be true.

I was accused quite recently of hating Izzard for daring to wear lipstick in public. This annoyed me disproportionately because I loved Eddie in his funny, fabulous action transvestite days. I despair of how wilfully thick certain people are being about his timeline. For years, he said "they're not women's clothes, they're mine". Loads of GC people I know loved him for that, and his brilliant standup. Then there was a long period where he wanted to be taken seriously as an actor, grew a beard, did Bond villain parts and told everyone he was bored of the makeup and heels. His transactivist supporters appear to have forgotten that this happened and will accuse anyone who remembers it, or has basic YouTube search skills, of being bigoted and evil. It's denying documented facts.
The person who accused me claims that GC people have always hated Eddie and that is categorically not true either.

Does anyone remember the “Stranger Danger” campaign? All the literature about personal space and boundaries, telling an adult if you weren’t comfortable with a person touching you ?
What happened to all that ?
We are hurtling backwards at an alarming rate 😞

This is DISGUSTING!

This video should be sent to every news outlet, posted on every social media site - and there certainly should be a complaint against the officers involved. The attitude of the police to this young woman is atrocious.

TBF we have no idea, other than what her mother reported during the video, happened - but I can't think of anything which would justify a number (4?) of adult male officers manhandling a young woman who is obviously no physical threat. And that WPC looks a piece of work.

It appears that we are now in an age when fit young men can punch 70 year old women with impunity, and TRAs have sentences reduced for horrific, violent crimes because they are "struggling with their gender", and it is almost impossible to get a police response to ANY crime, even when it is one of violence against a person, and is in progress, but a highly distressed young person can be physically dragged from their home apparentlybecause of a casual remark to a police officer.

How the hell did we get here?

I look forward to hearing the police response to this video. Does anyone know which police force this is?

A group of men who can't control their boners at the thought of being able to wear bra and knickers and shower with young girls have convinced big pharma, politicians and most of society that they are 'stunning and brave' whilst building on the inherent misogyny inherent in society and we are at the point where we are a bunch of irrelevant 'Karens', persons with a cervix, bonus holes, people who might have bled at some point (or might not) and whose very existence is to assist in this fantasy and be servile and kind and face arrest, rape, attack if we dare to publicly express our worries. Meanwhile, said TRA's wander round in masks, pissing on statues and protest in public with their moobs hanging out and shrieking that TRANS WOMEN ARE WOMEN, END OF with absolutely no consequence.

I am terrified for the future and shame on politicians who assist in this farce and who refuse to provide an adequate definition of what a woman actually is. We are truly in the 7th circle of hell at this point.

I've just sent the following to my MP
I couldn't copy the start of the email but this is the body of it after the introduction

Scroll down to upcoming events and click for a picture of the Men using Female toilets as apparently is their right under current legislation. The picture was taken in 2022 but the same group were there on Thursday, one of whom was wearing a short skirt with a G String and his cock and balls hanging out.

This government needs to get a grip on this issue and properly legislate to get these Men out of our intimate spaces once and for all.

Young girls starting their period and getting to grips with using Sanitary products do not want to share an intimate space with Men.

Religious minorities can’t share the space with Men so will self exclude

Get off Twitter and get out and talk to your constituents for an actual reality check on how we feel about this.

I think this has to be the most egregious example of just how ridiculously unfair it is to have transathletes competing in women's sport. This powerlifter lifted over 200kg more than the second placed lifter. 200kg! How can you even begin to defend that? There is literally no point in the female powerlifters turning up:

As the female powerlifter says, it's bodies that play sport and not identities. I'm literally shaking my head at the absurdity and injustice of this. This has to stop.

The museum doesn’t seem to be a very professional resource. There is an article written by the same person published on its website dissing JKR and including a whole paragraph on ‘what can cisgender individuals do to support trans people right now?’ Something to give a wide berth to should one ever find oneself in Seattle!
Sounds like jealousy of JKR success to me...it "literally genocides" them inside that a woman who holds sensible gender critical views can be so wildly creative, successful and appealing to people from all across the human spectrum.

This is the problem with mangling language. If the document just said "male" it would cover everybody that "man and people who were assigned male at birth" includes and is much easier to understand for those for whom English isn't their first language. But the fact that you have people like India Willoboy claiming to actually be female just muddies the water.
I also think there are a significant proportion of people who think that "transman" means a male who presents as a woman and vice versa. Whoever it was who initially decided to start obfuscating the language knew exactly what they were doing. I almost admire it (or I would if it didn't have such dire consequences for so many people - mainly women & girls)
You're completely right about the confusion regarding language. There's an article in the Telegraph today (can't post it as it's behind a paywall), which says that 30 per cent of British people don't know that transgender women were born male. When the term 'transwoman' is used, up to 40 per cent of people think that this is referring to biological women.

I can't remember if we've discussed this before, but it was an issue when they looked at the results of the last census. They think that it overestimated the number of tranpeople in the UK. They realised this because the areas which seemed to have the highest transpeople turned out to be parts of London which have a very high number of people who speak English as a second language.

The census question asked something like 'Is the sex that you identify with the same as the one that you were assigned at birth'? Stonewall insisted on this language as they didn't like the original question which just asked if someone was transgender. Another indication that the question confused people is that the results suggested that something like 1 in 67 Muslims are transgender, which isn't plausible. So, clearly, people didn't understand the question.

That's what happens when Government departments allow themselves to pander to a lobby group, instead of just doing the job that they should be doing, which in this case, was to gather information.

So according to Mhairi Black older women should just shut up because we are all dinosaurs and 'Karens' who know nothing.
We live in such an ageist society now. Children are believed when they say they identity as the opposite sex (or even cats). There's no such thing as wisdom acquired with life experience because anybody young knows better than you.
Sometimes I really despair over the state of western culture. The degeneration of society is frightening to behold.

"Army sparks feminist backlash after first transgender soldier to serve on the front line takes part in panel discussion about 'women in leadership' at Sandhurst event"
  • Warrant Officer Deborah Penny became first trans soldier to serve on front line
  • Soldier took part in discussion on 'lived experience' of women in the forces
  • But campaigners questioned decision given she joined the Army as a man
"Former head of the Army Lord Dannatt said that by having a trans women it was 'a good way of reflecting all dimensions of female point of view'."

 :mad: Men masquerading as women know NOTHING about the "female point of view".:mad::mad:
I’m surprised the Mail didn’t use this photo from the actual event, which says everything you need to know.

This is so good to hear. People are starting to push back. Public figures are speaking out, sporting bodies are seeing sense. There’s a long way to go, but fingers crossed, the fight back has started !

It’s absurd! I’m a heterosexual woman. Only ever been attracted to men.

I would NEVER date, or be in a relationship with another woman. For the sole reason they are women and I’m not sexually attracted to women. Does this make me a homophobe? 🙄
I’m a straight woman and if I was single I wouldn’t consider dating 90% of the men about. Does that make me heterophobic as well?

People are attracted to those who they find attractive. I don’t understand why trans people think that by identifying as the opposite gender they will automatically be perceived as attractive by those who prefer that gender.

All mothers are egg producers, but not all egg producers are mothers. 🙄

You know what else are egg producers? 🐓 (oh the irony of there only being a male chicken emoji!)
I no longer produce eggs (post menopause) so do I now stop being a mother to my adult children? 🤔

Or maybe I get a delightful new title that emphasises my age too - Former egg producer?

Or maybe......

Just saw the appalling Mhairi Black article about older women and I wanted to humbly and sincerely apologise to older women on behalf of women in their twenties (I nominated myself). We're not all as pig ignorant as that twat, and I would hate for her bigotry to be thought representative of the rest of us.

See what coke does to the brain.

Thank you for saying this. Reading what Mhairi Black said has upset me. I used to think she was great as she’s was a working class girl from the safe area as me. At one point she was standing up for women my mums age and their pensions. But to say such misogynistic and ageist things is so disappointing. It’s just mind blowing how it’s accepted to say these things about women yet the slightest comment about trans and you’re a bigot for life. Make it make sense! I feel invisible and irrelevant enough as a mid 40s woman and reading that today just put me on a downer. I realise not all young people think like Mhairi but a lot have been brainwashed to think this way. Good for you for having your own thoughts and opinions. I can imagine it just be difficult to voice them with your peers though.

Well yeah they were pushing boundaries with makeup and dress which was great, but not claiming they were a different gender!

Owen Jones would stand in front of a transwoman raping a minor in a public toilet and express his disgust at the victim's inherent transphobia and that trans people ARE SUBJECT TO GENOCIDE and it's leading to 'unfortunate' incidents like this. Ditto Robin Ince, Mark Lamarr, Stewart Lee, Nish Kumar, Kirstie Allsopp and Sleaford Mods. They know EXACTLY what the problem is but are desperate to be virtue signaller par excellence. Pleased to see Stewart Lee and Bridget Christie have split - she's a TERF and deserves way better. Plus she's a million times funnier than this misogynistic cunt.

More eye-rolling needed. This trans identifying female museum exhibitions project manager has accused JKR as of “using 'racial stereotypes', 'fat-shaming' and a 'lack of LGBTQIA+ representation' in the books” and has removed all reference to her from the museum. Not being funny, but why should we accept the false premise that all books should have some kind of LGBTQIA representation in them? Should we not be allowed to publish or read books that don’t have a trans character (‘cause that’s what she’s getting at) in them?
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the museum said, “MoPOP is proud to support our employees and unequivocally stands with nonbinary and transgender communities. In an increasingly divided world, pop culture can unite, inspire, and spark important conversations.” How can they ‘spark important conversations’ if they only accept one point of view and obliterate any reference to someone (JK) who might prompt intelligent discussion when people are made aware of her views and why she holds them?

Peeped in here … somewhere to say women’s rights are being crushed daily …
My work is doing its utmost to be seen ti be ticking all the boxes and we have trans women in our workplace

no issue there, except they want ti have the conversations with you about trans in sports and how they face difficulties everywhere , all while coming across as passive aggressive

they can’t seem to choose what voice they want to use .. one minute feminine and girly!! Next they are yelling road rage like some dirty hells angel..
I’m confused .
