Also, there is a young lad on, Leyton something, played in a couple of West End Show. A bloody classically trained dancer! And in ballroom. And who is everyone (I know not everyone) shouting about? Amanda! Not a classically trained dancer with a massive advantage.

I was out for dinner last night with some mum friends and we got onto the topic of gender identity and I was so relieved to find we are all on the same page! Amongst the group were primary school teacher and paediatrician, so they’re definitely not all captured. It’s the first time I’ve discussed with real life friends and said to them previously I would have been too afraid to say anything at the risk of being accused a bigot and we all agreed the majority probably do feel the same way as us but it’s a very loud minority pushing this through.
This is so good to hear. People are starting to push back. Public figures are speaking out, sporting bodies are seeing sense. There’s a long way to go, but fingers crossed, the fight back has started !
Off topic, but also not. Did anyone see the footage of the absolute carnage social media streamer Kai Cenat caused in New York by announcing he was showing up?

Well, I'll do what I usually do. Vote for the ones whose dancing I've enjoyed the most.
I've no idea who is in the line-up and am happy enough to wait for the first episode to find out, though doubtless I'll learn in dribs and drabs, just like with these two. There is nothing wrong with having a classically trained dancer because the show would be tedium incarnated if they were all clunkers. Most of the actors on the show have a degree of dance training anyway - many of them are in musical theatre. That gives them an advantage over people like newsreaders etc, so Amanda may be at a disadvantage in regards to young Leyton, but will probably have n advantage over some of the others, if only age-wise. When you are young, fit and flexible, thee things come so much more easily to you.
One of my favourites in previous years was Lisa Riley - she is a big lady, but put her all into it an did really well. She didn't win, but she was a very worthy contestant and got to the semi-final IIRC, and I was thrilled for her.
I don't vote tactically. And I certainly wouldn't open extra accounts just to keep someone in, or get someone out - life is too short to try to behave like an @rsehole.

I agree that govt interventions need re:social media. Particulary porn sites and the like which are soo easily accessed by children.
I know that China and some other countries manage to block whole swathes of sites that they don't want, so I don't see why our goats can't do the same to protect our youngsters.

It’s been touched upon in previous threads and noted that the TikTok app is banned in China, and there may be a correlation why the app is pushed enthusiastically so much onto western youth whilst being banned in its host country, and who and what algorithm manipulations are at play.
I think most level headed adults are. I've said similar before but there are two main camps. Teenagers, and the wrong side of middle aged men. Other than a few others that are so mind numbingly chronically online, I think the rest of us are probably eyerolling behind closed doors.
So strange how this agenda seems to be led by fully intact middle aged men leading, guiding, and making laws to mutilate teenagers. All in the names of trans. Can someone remind me: aside from being related, what do teenagers have in common to be forced team with middle aged men?
