Not one thing on the abuse of women of Ukraine, but has this reaction over some women meeting for lunch.

Who knew females meeting for lunch would cause such distress? lol

-------------

Also it appears Mads has upset some TRAs https://www.newsweek.com/mads-mikke...trans-comments-crazy-fantastic-beasts-1696818

While I'm sure he's for trans rights (in the proper diagnosis and treatment path) he's doesn't seem to be someone that would be saying TWAW anytime soon given the turning science into ideology part - At least I hope cause I do love him as an actor

Nah - it'll more likely be the other way around. I love that the internet archive exists to keep people's tweets.

I think we’re all on the same page in here on this one, totally agree with what you say. I heard someone say the other day that the best advice they had ever been given was that other people’s opinions of you are none of your business. It makes sense. However the trans thing is ALL ABOUT what others think of them, it is literally all about controlling how others see you and what they call you. That’s why pronouns are so important to them. It’s a control thing and they think by making you say the pronoun that goes against every fibre of your being is a way of you validating who they want to be.

In general as I’ve said on here loads of times, I will respect pronouns apart from people like Eddie Izzard where I literally cannot call him she. But for others that I do respect and say them, this doesn’t mean for a second that I think they are a she / he. I’m being polite (like the good girl I was brought up to be). If they weren’t so hung up on trying to control and convince others that they are something they are not, the world might be a happier place for trans people to be. I’d love if the world treated me like I was JLo but I’m not her so I’ll just have to make my peace with that and live in the real world.
Pronouns can only ever be a courtesy not a right imo. I'm harder on the feeling that I shouldn't have to therefore won't because of how 'be kind' gets weaponized against women. What starts with 'being kind' to your work colleague or friend has ended up with 'how dare you misgender your rapist.'

What is wrong with saying only women menstruate? There is nothing inaccurate about that statement. Not all women menstruate but only women do regardless of what they identify as.
I read a tweet last week where a trans woman was complaining of pms and period cramps. Apparently with all the hormones they take they get the same uterine cramps as women. Stop the world I want to get off.

Great point. We can’t ignore the self-hating TIFs in this movement because there’s a lot of them. They’re quieter and less violent but still there. They are the ones getting pregnant and demanding we change language for them. The ones giving interviews saying “when I was pregnant I didn’t feel feminine, I felt brave and strong” 🤢 Read Freddy McConnell’s birth story on Insta - shouting at doctors and midwives for saying “she” from across the room and the handmaiden student saying “I’m so sorry you had to hear that”. They are the ones cutting their breasts off and grooming others to do the same over Tiktok. They don’t make rape and death threats but you could argue they’re more sinister because they aren’t just full of hot air.
I totally agree. I know this thread talks a lot about TiM but I’m very concerned about TiFs - these are the people who have totally captured the birth and breastfeeding world. And it’s mostly women who are pandering to them and yelling ‘BE KIND’ to the rest of us.

It also concerns me as the parent of a young girl why so many teenage girls are coming out as trans.

Anyone else getting hacked off at m&s using that TW model? Every time I see an ad I see that person. With no hips and really tall. I’m an m&s customer as I’ve mentioned on here before and don’t understand why they think modelling clothes on a non female body is meant to make me see how it’ll look. I have child bearing hips and boobs and I’m under 5 foot so a tall skinny man modelling these clothes is just so off the mark. Look around m&s next time you’re in and you’ll see it’s full of women shaped like me. Someone at the top of M&S has lost their heads.

Out of interest, how many people here were on the other side before?

I certainly was. Really thought it was new gay rights and it wasn't a fetish etc.
I was completely on the other side before, moved in those sort of SJW circles on Twitter that everyone hates lol. Then I was like "Let me re-read JKR's essay so I can rebuff TERF arguments" a couple of years ago. And surprise, surprise there was nothing really transphobic, I was like "This all makes sense and I agree with everything" (which was my initial reaction when I first read it when she published it but then I saw everyone online and I was like OH NO SHE'S A TERF! and then swallowed all their nonsensical arguments).

And then after re-reading that essay I found a few GC people on Twitter and read their stuff and the more I read the more it made sense. I knew that something rubbed me the wrong way about "menstruators" and "cervix havers" but could never quite vocalise it. Anyway now I see how much the TRAs try to ignore science and biology and can't believe I ever followed all that stuff. I think it's because they use such emotive and guilt-trippy language and equate it all to being far-right and like I support Labour (not so much now because Keir doesn't know what a woman is) so I felt I had to follow their logic and arguments because being right-wing and sharing their views (according to the Twitter circles I moved in) is the worst thing in the world ha.

I don't understand how people get why women don't want to be around men when they're in toilets and changing rooms, women's refuges etc because of the risks (and everyone is fairly supportive of that), but as soon as men put on a wig and a dress suddenly it's okay and they support it??? Make it make sense!!!

This was not a transwoman buying a dress - it was an intact male who was probably going to w**k over the dress and put it back on the rail (and film it for TikTok to show how 'stunning and brave' he is)
Updating my post with this -

These "trans women" are spoiled male brats who think that "womanhood" is nothing more than putting a dress on. So fucking ignorant. All they do is reinforce gender stereotypes about what men and women "should" be. They've grown up male with all the privilege that entails, and kick and scream and want everything their own way. They can't handle being told "no" by women. Their knowledge of what it's like to be a woman is zero. You can tell they've never dealt with oppression before.

Then they come out with shit like "there's more to gender than your genitalia!". But they don't want to hear about it when you try to explain to them that yes, the woman's experience on this earth IS very different to the man's, and not solely because of our genitalia.

I say ship them all off to Saudi Arabia, let's see how much they "identify as a woman" then.

What I don't understand is - if a white person decided they identified as a black person and said "race isn't defined by skin colour", all these woke idiots would be screaming racism. But yet it's perfectly fine for another privileged demographic (men) to decide they're the same as an oppressed demographic (women) and that they should be able to boss that demographic around and undermine their entire lived experience.

They think "identifying as a woman" means that they get a free pass for sexism and misogyny.
If a white person decided they "identified as a black person" does that give them a free pass to be racist?

You have a sex, and you have an idenity
Omg ‘I don’t get it’

what India is saying is ‘I don’t get it - these 2 women who maybe look a little more masculine than my perceived idea of what a woman should look like! How is that different to me!?’ BECAUSE THEY ARE FEMALE, HAVE GROWN UP FEMALE, LIVED THEIR LIVES IN A FEMALE BODY AND ARE NOW HAVING TO EXPLAIN THEMSELVES YET AGAIN TO PEOPLE LIKE YOU BLOODY IDIOT

I was sort of on the other side, but it was in simpler times, 10-15 years ago. There was a transwoman who used to walk around the town centre looking, frankly, ridiculous. Must have been 60ish, crooked wig, the lot. My parents said something about how ridiculous he looked and I said something along the lines of we should be compassionate, because he had chosen a difficult life (being out in public non-passing as he was) which must surely be a sign of how badly he needed to live as a woman. I also had an old friend transition and I was supportive in a “welcome to the girl’s club!” kind of way.

Learning about AGP peaked me. I felt so duped. Motherhood peaked me as well. Suddenly I felt like I’d learned so much about the female experience and vulnerability.

A woman on a Facebook page just tried to tell me that children singing a song about cliterises is exactly the same as them singing the Hokey Cokey because it’s “just about body parts”. These dullards are dangerous to society.

I wouldn't say I was on the other side.

I previously just never really thought about them, which I suppose is quite a privileged thing to say.

There were a couple of transwomen in my wider workplace (spot them a mile off as they are over 6ft, Adams apple and zero dress sense) but I never paid them much attention.

It was when women I know (and previously respected) started sharing "for my all my sisters not just my cisters" on international women's day a few years ago that I was like...hang on a minute.

Also drag becoming more in your face and the offensive names etc. reeeeally started to grind my gears. (I never had an issue with Lily Savage and Dame Edna, but then neither Paul nor Barry have ever claimed to be women) it seems every bingo or bottomless brunch or comedy is hosted by a drag queen these days.

They're always so violent and threatening, aren't they? It's all "Kill the TERFS" and "JKR should be in a coffin" etc, etc.

I've been on women's marches in the past, but I've never seen a woman holding a placard demanding death to misogynists, or that we should "kill men". ("Kill the patriarchy" maybe, which isn't the same thing at all)

It's a pity that these thugs aren't put right at the top of the news sites, and on the front pages of the papers. Maybe then, more people will understand what we're actually having to deal with.
And yet the same people say using the wrong pronoun etc is ‘literal violence’ 🥴🥴🥴🥴

And that's your opinion. You don't have to do anything. But you can't go and affect someone elses life because you don't agree with it. I don't agree that people should get tattoos all over their bodies the moment they turn 18. Some of my friends did exactly that, doesn't mean I stopped talking to them. You don't have to validate anyone, I hazard a guess that they probably don't particularly care what you think?
There is a man called D*vid P*isley who has called the police on several women because he didn’t like their tweets supporting womens rights. Trans rights activists enjoy screaming abuse and sending death threat pictures to any woman in the public eye who has an opinion that is not straight from Stonewall. It’s quite ugly online, so many women are tired of living and let living over this issue.

If you're a transman and decide to become pregnant and have a baby surely you realise that part of that is going to be attending maternity appointments and having medical professionals refer to your female anatomy by the correct names?

If you are so mentally fragile that a midwife referring to your vagina or breasts is going to be tantamount to literal violence then maybe you shouldn't be bringing a child into your life?
It things like this that proves all things trans, is an utter crock of shite. If you honestly believe you are a man, then why on earth would you consider pregnancy? Surely, if you are so riddled with dysphoria that you want to alter your life so drastically, being pregnant and giving birth would be horrendously traumatic and affect your bond with the child? (Not to mention the effects of synthetic hormones plus various other drugs, will have on that experimental child).
