What I find amusing amongst a certain subset of left-wing people at the moment is that they're vehemently 'trust the science!' when it comes to the vaccine. But not when it comes to biological sex and the harms of puberty blockers.
Then some right-wing sorts trust science when it comes to biological sex but not when it comes to the vaccines.

I notice there are quite a few social groups, support services, and other such places that say they are for "women and non-binary people." Correctly recognising that most "non-binary people" are in fact women, but then that does leave the door open, what's going to happen when a "non-binary" man shows up? Do they let him in with the women or do they acknowledge that, in fact, there is a difference between men and women regardless of their "gender identity"?

I’m missing a work meeting today but on the agenda it says ‘email signatures’. I’m hoping it means making sure all our logos are the same but I’ve had that horrible feeling in my stomach about it being pronouns! I’m sure it’s the former but I’ll be ready to crack open that pronoun guidance otherwise.

I won’t EVER put pronouns in my work emails, it’s virtue signalling balls. It’s a bit of a trend, I see some forums have stated it’s an option and have added a field for people to type their pronouns in, but if you abuse it by putting “tree/bleep/person..etc” they will ban you for takin the piss.

I'm just thinking back to my early feminism days when I was 18 and I remember there was a lot of discussion around men who couldn't stand women having their own spaces. I remember a wee graphic going around on Tumblr, it was something like - women create spaces, men invade, women leave, women create new spaces, men invade, women leave.
And honestly, the males in the trans movement are those men 10 years ago who've now found a loop hole to not only invade women's spaces but be supported doing it because they are now the victim. It's an absolute con.

So so true. Even 20 years ago, I used to wonder why men joined female-dominated forums. I thought maybe they just wanted to wave their willies around and bask in the special attention (and they definitely did that) but I know now it’s because they can’t leave women alone to talk to other women. “This place looks to be full of women… well we can’t have THAT”.
Same with Mumsnet. Same with Tattle. I know none of these forums are supposed to be women-only (they wouldn’t be able to say so even if they wanted to - just imagine the trolling and DDoS attacks) but I don’t know why they attract men. I don’t mind the stealth men on Tattle, but the weird men who do nothing but post offensive, misogynistic and sexually inappropriate things about female celebs…

I do however support biological women for their rights, I feel very strong about this as I have several female family members. So I do post here and voice my opinion and views.
Trans people do have rights, so it’s a load of old balls when they start going on about how unfair life is for them. They can use the loos, hr departments bend over backwards to make them comfortable in a workplace.
These forums that pander to the pronoun thing, but won't allow what they consider to be pronouns that "go too far" are surely running the risk of being nasty bigots if they ban someone for pronouns that look stupid given that some of the neo pronouns are getting more and more bizarre now.

Was thinking about the whole "pronouns in email signatures" the other day and I just don't get it. Should we start listing out our sexuality, religious and political views while we're at it? What's the point of it? I honestly don't care about the gender of someone I'm emailing, I'm here to do a job and that's that. Christ.
Think I said it in another thread but I have a clearly Russian name and feel like adding female pronouns is yet another target on my back. You just get treated differently when you have a foreign name. So yeh. I'd rather not.

We had a bloke employed at a certain establishment, who came in one day in female dress, make up etc and announced that as they were now a woman , it was no longer suitable for them to work shifts and lates ( as per everyone's contract- shift work) and would immediately require straight Mon-Fri day work in terms of feeling ' safe ' ( had their own car sitting in the car park, and a huge fleet of pool cars available to everyone, 24 hrs a day ) .
HR had to comply.
