I hope I’m welcome here. I don’t agree with every take in this thread. I do support people’s right to transition if they genuinely feel like they’re trapped in the wrong body- it can happen. And I probably wouldn’t really call myself a radical feminist either, so I’m not a TERF in that sense.
However, I think this “non binary” thing is a load of nonsense. All it is, is tomboys or camp men trying to give themselves a fancy label so that they themselves can say they’re trans without any of the plans to undergo a transition. Non-binary is not the same as trans, trans is short for transition. People calling themselves “they” as if they’re multiple people (I know some will say, haven’t you just used the word “they” in the singular with “themselves” and “they’re”? No I haven’t… I’ve used it in the plural because there’s multiple non-binary people)- it’s ridiculous. It reduces being male or female to a stereotype.
Because let’s say you were being attacked and the perpetrator was non-binary, if somebody around you said “they’re coming”, you’d think it was in reference to multiple people and be scared for your life, and then you’d turn around and see only one.
