Yes they can but the key thing is being able to express your views without fear of being arrested or other consequences.

My aunty doesn't believe in mastodons because apparently nobody can prove they once existed despite the wealth of evidence like bones and gigantic tusks.
She'll go to her grave as a mastodon-denying Jesus-on-a-dinosaur truther.

Sure, you can police the expression (or lack thereof) of a belief, but you can’t enforce a ‘compulsory’ belief, because however robust the legislation, it can’t control what happens inside someone’s head.

There can be compulsory compliance with an ideology, but no one can make specific thoughts compulsory (or, conversely, verboten).

I couldn’t loathe the SNP more. Never liked or voted for them, couldn’t stand “Wee Nippy” Sturgeon but this is even worse. How DARE you try and control what people believe, and I’m fairly sure the vast majority of Scots do not believe in gender identity. I only know one person who is pro trans ( and they’re English anyway). Wasn’t the whole pro trans issue part of Sturgeons downfall anyway? Politicians need to start LISTENING to voters rather than punishing us and trying to police our thoughts and forbid certain thoughts being expressed.

I also didn't think the Scottish Parliament had the right to legislate in such matters.

This is scary, I ddi wonder what the real story was, after seeing it mentioned so so many times on the news. Its tragic for the poor man to die, but he seems to have been a complete and total fantasist. !

It's one thing not discriminating against trans people in the work place etc but you can't make everyone believe in gender identity (just like any other cult or religion). What worries me here is the possible sanctions people might face if they say they are non believers. Will they be arrested for 'hate' crime, have their bank accounts frozen etc?
What penalties are they thinking of introducing for non believers?

I feel like we are regressing to the middle ages at an increasing speed.....

Ive just seen on my feed an article from the Metro, about a non binary mother, she has a 2 year old, who is married, to a husband, but who wants to be identified as gender neutral as she feels like a mother, but doesnt want to be seen as a woman.

She accepts either she or they pronouns, but would prefer to be identified as they, and gets upset /offended when anyone else refers to her as she! Well ....... Id almost say good for her.....but .......I get offended at someone who is obviously a woman, refusing to acknowledge this obvious fact!!

Why cant my feelings as a woman be taken into account?

I'm a non-binary mother and I'm constantly misgendered | Metro News

My immediate response to the headline 'I'm a non binary mother and I'm constantly misgendered' is NOBODY CARES. Why is this drivel in a newspaper? A non binary mother wtf.

I couldn't finish that tedious pile of rit. Non binary people always think they're special and unique but they all say the same spiel about not being like other girls or boys then having an epiphany and blah blah blah.
