Well when the alternative vision of masculinity you're being sold is that rapist Andrew Tate and other manfluencers, you can't blame them. We need positive male role models of more normal guys!
Two cheeks of the same a when it comes to their view of women in my opinion. Both rely on reductive stereotypes of both men and women.

Now I've had time to go back and read @manual FYI if you're curious about something and want to ask questions coming in like gangbusters talking about yourself is not the way to do it.

Same for giving unasked for advice to women, if I can tell you one thing it would be not to go swooping into an established thread giving your opinion like we haven't heard or considered these topics before. There are hundreds of intelligent, funny and well-read women on Tattle so the least you could do is sit back and accept that we aren't unaware of how some men operate. Let Women Speak is a thing for a reason,
the problem is they don’t want women to speak, they just want to play at being women and see what our hard fought rights are about and to kick us back into the kitchen not all I Might add.

See Naomi Watts's son Samuel/Kai is now a model. Naomi quoted as "being so proud of her daughter". Trans nepo baby at 17.

"Watts also poked fun at the fact that Kai towered over her. "The height difference...it's just the heels!," she clarified on her Instagram Story."

No, it's not the heels Naomi, it's because your child is male and had a growth spurt at puberty due to his male hormones!
Oh FFS! He looks like a fella, because he is a fella, no matter how much he and his stupid mother might want to pretend to believe otherwise. My eyes are firmly stuck to the ceiling here. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

tit Moldy, I'm so sorry that some people are bleeps and chose to abuse you. I actually typed "took advantage of" there first. And that's why people who've been through what you have, minimise this sort of thing. Because of the coy, sanitised language that we use. Society as a whole need to get better at calling this stuff what it is. I hope that you've managed to repair Mini-Mold with the benefits of hindsight and your therapy ♥
Awwww you’re very kind. But my story is very common sadly: chaotic household and childhood abuse - become “wild” teen boozing and drugging - vulnerable to older men abusing you but you don’t read it as such - years of addiction and risky behaviour. We see women like this on the streets all the time and judge them. Many of the grape gang survivors have gone this path. You’re told your abuser is your boyfriend and you do believe it at the time. Also addiction prevents you from seeing things clearly. Very very common pathway sadly.

I was fortunate to find sobriety and achieve a good life thru a return to my religion and also therapy. But that’s rare, sadly many more fall by the wayside. I spent decades of my life in a dark place but I don’t call it wasted because I saw real Evil but also real human Goodness and I think that makes me live a fuller life today.

Whatever, it’s not unique. But this idea that @diamondthunder voiced, that vulnerable teens somehow have agency and can choose their abuse, is wrong and I’m saddened that it still exists. Because that’s how we get grape gangs, human sex trafficking and also, trans. I don’t think I’m reaching there. I think the idea that vulnerable children and young men and women have agency and can choose to be medically abused and manipulated- that is the EXACT SAME MISAPPREHENSION that leads to abuse. Transing kids and mentally ill young people is sexual abuse in my opinion. Absolutely. Straight up. That’s why I feel strongly about it because I recognise the same patterns and language.

Glinner knows this btw. I don’t know if he’s been abused or just spoken with survivors but he was calling it out from early and got ruined because of it.

I think we should bring back the heroes of yesteryear, I'm serious. People like Wellington, Nelson, Marlborough, von Blucher, they weren't just military geniuses but they also took their responsibilities to society very seriously, eg Wellington not only turned the redcoats from a rag taggle bunch of drunken crims into a well drilled high-morale fighting unit but he hung out with them, had bants with them, wept for those who died and did everything he could to minimise casualties. They called him Old Nosey (he had a crooked schnozz) and they bleeping LOVED him (it's one of the weirdest quirks of British history that we think we're so egalitarian now but there was WAY more interaction and mutual respect between the social classes back then than there is now when the working classes are all bigots and gammon. I don't understand that, tbh).

Seriously like these men were paragons of social responsibility, self-discipline, physical excellence and moral courage and therefore amazing male role models.

One of the great tragedies of our current timeline's rush to tit on all British history as being evil white supremacism is that we've also managed to discard some of the greatest male role models that boys could ever learn from.

Bring back our heroes sez I!

I am sure every country has great historic figures, and politicians. Not all of us on the thread are British 😉.

I personally think there are not many politicians now who are there purely for the good of their country. But unfortunately times have changed so much too. There are so many influences now, via the likes of social media, for example, that I don't think people would look up to the heroes of the past - even if we could bring them back.

But girl that's why I mentioned von Blucher?!

Also I dunno if I agree with you on changing times. In Greece we have the heroes of independence who pasted the ottomans like Kolokotronis, Karaiskakis, Diakos, these are men who kids learn about, talk about, admire because they fought for our independence from the Turkish yoke. And going millennia back, you will still have kids talking about Alexander and Greek Twitter was ON FIRE about Nolan's interpretation of the Odyssey. (Which I liked actually)

So I disagree with you, I think many countries round the world still maintain their heroes from recent and further back past. I actually think UK might be an outlier in resolutely not doing so. I'd be keen to hear from my fellow immigrants about this - tell us your tales of the motherland!

Although he apparently played it down, the Duke of Wellington was Irish.

This is from SM and google ai. I can't find a reliable source. But if true, it means "one rule for me, one rule for thee".

It's not unusual for any type of surgery to be cancelled, postponed or rearranged (for non-medical reasons regarding the individual patient) very last-minute. This can cause financial upheaval from lost wages, extra expenses etc.

These expenses aren't reimbursed. So why single out one group and reimburse them? (I think we know why  ).

My previous situation. Both parents elderly with health needs, supported by carers and myself. If one went into hospital, extra support was needed as I couldn't be in two places at once. Other family was supportive and stepped in, but had their own commitments too.

One parent had a surgery scheduled, so we paid for a lot of extra carer support for the other one. Cancelled services such as Day Groups for the first parent.
Surgery was cancelled too late to cancel the carers without us having to pay. Parent couldn't attend Day Groups so missed out on socialising.
A lot of expense and inconvenience, not only for my elderly parents but for the wider family too.

This happened TWICE (for the same surgery).

Sadly, this isn't an isolated incident. Many people, of all ages, are being severely impacted by these cancellations. Young families can have lost wages and extra childminding costs for example.

Yeah, as a straight man, would you happily date and have penetrative sex with a transwoman with pen still intact? How would that work? Genuine question.

Sadly it sounds like a modern way for a Gay or Bisexual man to pretend he isn't Gay or Bisexual.
Truly sad that some LGB are choosing to put themselves back in the closet.
