I quite enjoy Andrew Doyle as Titania McGrath, but I can't get worked up about half the stuff he talks about in this clip. It sounds like the cat story may just be about responsible pet ownership. I think it's good that we are starting to think a lot more about animals own desires, not just their lives in relation to us. I don't have any pets, but I can't disagree that it's a good idea to learn your cat's body language and not just pick it up whenever you feel like having a cuddle. I'm also sure most responsible pet owners do this already. It's just the language around it, of asking for consent, that's silly.

I'm also not offended if Lufthansa now says 'welcome passengers' instead of 'welcome ladies and gentelmen'. I never particularly identified with the term lady. This is really not the same as erasing the word woman from medical leaflets.

The emojis are bonkers though. The man just looks like he needs a poo and I suspect that's how this emoji will be used.

In my opinion these silly side stories just cause division. I'd personally like to find more common ground with what I keep referring to as 'real trans people' (yes, I realise many people would find that transphobic), so more of them will stand up against those terrible men exploiting self-ID laws for terrible reasons.

yeah exactly, any cat owner knows that, you wouldn't go over and pick up your cat if they were hissing at you, that is common sense, equally many cats never like to be carried at all, you just get to know your cat and know their likes and dislikes.
Agreed, the lufthansa thing is such a non issue, had I not seen that video I woudln't even have noticed the change.
Totallt agree about the "real trans people"thing, and that is the problem, anyone stating this in public would be shouted down by the extreme fringe and as a consequence this common ground will probably never be found

I also love that this person is clearly not thinking about the many historical working class women who were either not home-makers or were home-makers and also worked out of the home. It reminds me of this video about how people often imagine women of the past based on the middle or upper classes.

I’m a loser so I know the reason. It’s a twitter joke as someone once misspelled sweetie as sweaty. So now it’s common to see people saying stuff like “sorry that’s not my problem sweaty”

Exactly, this is so ridiculous in SO many ways, the thing about the hair especially, it is also very christian (?)/western focussed surely? in lots of other cultures historically both men and women could have long hair? and so were slimmer women not called women then? and so when people were born and they saw their genitals there was no decision about the sex, they just waited until they were adults to decide who to define as women or not? jesus wept

Yes, throughout history reproduction was a mystery, and no one was able to draw the connections between penises, vaginas, and babies. It's a miracle our ancestors survived, isn't it?

(I've often seen them claim that gender is a colonialist construct, with native people living happily in a gender-free paradise until Europeans enforced the concept of male and female upon them. Which is so, so racist - imagine saying that black people couldn't figure out how reproduction worked FFS. Vile.)

Well this was a disturbing variant of AGP that I didn't know existed - looking at the person's twitter account it is a) sissy porn and b) commenting on photographs of Muslim women telling them how sexy they look in their hijabs or telling them that they would look sexier if they wore a hijab / other religious Islamic clothing.

I really hope that his wife is an imaginary woman and not somebody trapped in a relationship with him.

I’ve seen this one before. He’s gross. Seems like a clear cut sissy fetish, but the Islamic larping is something else. I think he views Muslim dress/female subjugation as “sissy” to the power of ten.

At a guess, around the same time that Stonewall decided they hate LGB people.

The thing is, at this point I vehemently dislike both sides on the WiSpa protest. I dislike the side that is increasingly full of people saying I'll go to hell if I don't suck fool and I dislike the side that says I'm a fascist if I don't suck fool.

The overwhelming majority of the people in America (and here in the UK) are not on either of those sides but it is hard to keep that in mind when (both sides of) the media hype things up in order to get as many supportive clicks and hate clicks as possible.

There used to be a saying in journalism called 'if it bleeds it leads' and in modern day it's 'if it enrages it engages' and I'm sick of it. I'm fine collaborating with people on the moderate left, center or moderate right on issues, but I hate that it is nowadays being framed as a 'far left vs far right' issue.
