Can we please all respect identities and remember the correct pronouns here are bun/bunny/bunself? It’s very upsetting to me to read such wanton mis-speciesing and speciophobia 😢

Transbuns are buns.

“Not all people who have periods are women”. I think you’ll find they are. FFS, all of this messing around with language and pretending that men have periods Is ridiculous. As for non binary, I will never, ever get it.

Yes I had some bad experiences with smears too, some were really painful and others not too bad. It seems to depend on who is doing it. I used to dread it, but thankfully I've now reached the age where they don't think you need them anymore.
At my last one, she seemed to keep ramming the speculum against my cervix. It was agony.

I can’t find a thread for trans people, maybe I wasn't looking properly.
Doesn’t matter. I have other spaces to talk about my identity. I just got excited for a second and then realised the thread is not what I thought it was lol
The thing is, nobody gives a tit about your 'identity'. Your feelings are irrelevant. What we're concerned about is the physical body in our spaces, and in women's spaces, sports etc, that should be a female body.

Absolutely this.

Sports, crimes, giving birth, etc are not played out by "feelings" - they are played out by physical bodies. It is out bodies that make us vulnerable or not, not some strange feeling in our heads.

You were born with a pen? Then call yourself what you like - but keep out of spaces reserved for people born with vaginas. And vice versa.

All these women who claim to be feminists, but put the feelings of men above the feelings of women infuriate me. They are giving away the hard fought rights of women to men who likely as not have a sexual fetish. Even those men suffering from gender dysphoria are still men. How can anyone honestly claim to be a feminist, yet put the feelings of men first? Gender identity is so deeply misogynistic. It actually astounds me that anyone really believes that biological sex isn’t real ( when it suits them of course) and yet this weird concept of identity is. Why is the Supreme Court ruling so bloody hard to understand?

Just when you think this crap can't get any worse. Seriously.

The handmaidens are ruining it for us all.

If they want to share a loo with 6 foot 6 Shirley with a beard, crack on. But I don't, and I am not a bigot for wanting a space to feel safe.

On a positive note, here in Australia some of our large grocery chains have changed their aisle signs from "feminine care" to "period care" not to deny women use them, but in an effort to de-stigmatise periods and stop using flowery language.
Also, I REALLY don't get non-binary either, especially when most of those men and women identify as gay or homosexual. How does that work huh?! Do they even know what that means?!

Warning!!! You may want to sit down before reading further.

The BBC have an article on their front page about women that doesn't - I repeat, doesn't - interview a TIM. 😲

No woke language.
No references to TIM.
No references to TIF.
Talks about menstruation, pregnancy, menopause.

Maybe I read it too quickly and missed the inevitable trans shoehorning??

Yes to this!!! I do not like the words feminine and masculine, as they are gendered concepts. I think feminine care, as opposed to period/menstruation care, is so disembodied; call it what it is. We are female but that doesn’t equate to feminine.

Maybe all the drags queens in the UK were busy that day?

(I spotted this article too and was amazed that the BBC had been brave enough to publish a piece that was all about the implications of female biology in a specific set of circumstances without any pretense that there 'other kinds' of women who are also very very very important and must not be overlooked)

I was worried about my diminishing eyebrows plus potential need for botox but turns out this whole time I should have aligned myself towards vaginal steaming. Who knew! 🥴 Next time I discuss grooming with my man I must remind him to steam his balls. It's only fair.
