I didn't see that, but it's very interesting that the police ran with 'him' independently of what the missing girl's family said. It's very worrying. I mean, I know that more often than not there will be good reason for the police to take a different tack to that of other parties close to a victim, but this just goes to show how captured our public services actually are.
I think the mum was trying to use the "correct" pronouns and stuff but did say it was very hard when you've known someone by a certain name for so many years.
There was a bit where the person they suspected says that she told him she was called Emma rather than the male name she was going by and it looks like they'd been in a relationship. So she clearly wasn't 100% on her male persona. She was clearly a very troubled and vulnerable young woman. They found her at the end but I don't think I'd say she was safe.

Did anybody happen to catch a programme on BBC1 last night about missing people? I was only partly watching but it was about kids/young people going missing from care.

One of them was an 18 yo TiF and it was really interesting how the police dealt with it. The girls mother referred to "her" and made it clear this was a young female. When the police were putting out an alert they referred to "male 5'3"" and didn't mention trans status (very bleeping dangerous in my opinion) Keep talking about "him"

The search goes on for days (made me wonder if a young adult male was missing from care whether they'd spend that much time on them and behave as if they were very vulnerable) and at one point they have someone who they suspect of doing her harm - one of the officers says something like "I think this is sex thing" from that point it is pretty much accepted that she's female and they start calling her "she"

It was really interesting because you could just tell from the very start they recognised that being female put her at greater risk despite constantly calling her "he" If anyone else saw it or watches on catch-up, if love to hear your thoughts.

ETA some spaces between paragraphs to make it a bit more readable
I caught the last 10-15 mins of it and heard them say ‘male’ and ‘5’3”’. At first I was confused thinking I must have heard the age wrong and that they were looking for a 12 year old or something. But then they said ‘born in 2006’ and I was thinking that is very short for a post-pubescent male. I wasn’t paying 100% attention, but I also wondering why they were so concerned. It was only when they mentioned ‘relationship’ that I started to wonder if it was actually a female who was missing. When they showed the person at the end, it was clearly a young TIF (didn’t look remotely male). I agree it was very confusing and didn’t help the search that people were led to believe they were looking for a man.

I didn’t see it either but I’ve seen posts on social media locally appealing for a missing teen, and they are obviously the opposite sex from the description given. This has happened a few times, and the replies are invariably, “Thats not a girl….”.( Edit to add, it was a TIM)
To my mind that’s very reflective of whats wrong with the whole gender ideology. It’s forcing people to lie, and also to accept lies without question. Humans have evolved to be able to tell a male from a female, and being dishonest with descriptions isn’t helping anyone IMO

Skimming the Celeb thread, someone asked about Jessica Alves and every post after that was referring to him as 'she.'
I had to stop reading so I don't know if anyone has done the 'He's a man' post yet.

Usually also a lot of comments about people free to live their lives, not hurting anyone by calling them what they want to be called.

Ignoring completely the basic common sense that people being told to look for a blonde woman called Sue won't be looking at some ratty looking bloke and think oh that must be Sue.

Worrying that so many will slip through the cracks all because of the all trans pass myth.

A simple 'this person is a member of the LGBTQ community and may present as a member of the opposite sex' would in my opinion far more helpful.

I think that could say 'this person is a member of the TQ community and may present as a member of the opposite sex'. The LGB don't need lumbering with them.

Alves looked more feminine when she was a man before all the surgeries to become a woman trapped in a man's body. From the Celeb thread

Alves is a monstrosity and his appearance is an insult to women. Look at the size of his head, it's like a misshapen basketball.
Reminds me of when my old bulldog got stung by a bee.

I agree he looks like a grotesque parody but I can't help thinking this man is very mentally unwell. He appears to be rich and has the money to spend on these endless body modifications but what a pointless existence he leads. No real career apart from posing. He appears to do no good in the world and is entirely preoccupied with himself and his outward appearance. What a sad life when he could direct his time, money and energy into doing something positive. He must be a very damaged individual to behave like this.
The people who prey on him doing these awful 'treatments' are also evil IMO.

I feel sorry for him in a way, maybe one of the main reasons he wanted to transition was because he'd run out of options for surgery as a male?

Shopping in Tesco this morning when an announcement interrupted the music stating how they are "Supporting Pride this month/LGBT/being inclusive" etc., etc.

I instinctively mouthed "Oh eff off!"

Delivered to an address this week and as soon as the person opened the door I felt something was off and then she opened her mouth and her froggy little voice confirmed that my instincts were correct. Absolutely tragic that yet another young Woman has done this to herself.

For amusement, I sometimes read a pro SNP blog. It's written by a very misogynistic and pro trans man, so I won't name or link it.
One of the funniest things about it is how he and his sheep commenters are very anti Royal Family, and mock the idea of people having titles and having to be addressed in a certain way - however, in the next breath, they are all furious about using people's CORRECT PRONOUNS!!

In what way does going round a supermarket exclude trans people FFS? Ridiculous virtue signalling. I must admit that round my way, there’s been very little Pride stuff up in shops.
Theres nothing in any Co ops this year, Sainsbury’s has a Pride logo on the hand scanners, but that’s it and Morrisons has the original rainbow without the Progress monstrosity. It’s certainly a lot less round here than last year.

They have to wait in a queue like all the non special people.
Or even worse they might have to be age checked.

I can't help myself, I am so sick of this 'trans' nonsense and people going along with it despite knowing full well it's a load of old balls 💚💜🤍

People think they're being 'kind' but they never stop to think how damaging it is for women.
I'm fed up with AGPs, mediocre athletes and men in general, really.
Calling a man 'she' and 'her' people me to tears.
