That report is great. I heard some idiot on PM wanging on about how being prevented from wearing his Palestinian flag pin to work would definitely kill babies, and I was like, mate get a grip. Even if wearing your pin did have those magical powers, which it very much does not, as virtue signalling in a hospital in Bristol has absolutely zero effect on a decades old political war thousands of miles away, just wear when you’re not at work. Its very simple. That way, any Jewish patient you treat doesn’t have even a moments twinge of doubt or a clench of anxiety seeing it. Likewise with your progress lanyard. If you don’t have it, then when I present at hospital, I needn’t worry so much that you’re going to try to put a man in a female ward with me, or tell me that six foot stubble covered dude in a tight skirt is actually a female and will be doing my intimate care. Wear it when you get home. I couldn’t give a tit. Just be professional.

The bougie pet shop in my achingly bougie neighbourhood has gone all in for pride with a great big progress flag and a huge sign saying “EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE”. Bonkers- are you telling me that when a gay or trans person walks in to a non “progressive” pet shop they’re at risk of someone shouting at them “duck off I’m not selling you any lick-e-lix you degenerate!”, or whispering homophobic slurs when they put your dried pigs ears in their recyclable bags? Don’t be daft. And don’t put pride neckerchiefs on your dogs, they don’t deserve that humiliation.

I'm sick to death of hearing about everyone's politics and affiliations and I feel irritated when I see people at work demonstrating their activism with daft badges and lanyards.
I'm still a member of UNISON even though I can't stand them. I can't go into the reasons why at present but they are entirely financially motivated so I've got to stick it out for a while longer.
Every time there's a ballot I read the candidates promo blurb and make a point of only voting for people who talk about improving workers conditions and are not bleating on about their other pet causes. It certainly makes it easier for me to allocate a vote. Recently some twit wrote a page and a half of such drivel virtue signalling for trans rights and talking about how much they were against the far right and attended rallies to support Palestine obviously under the delusion that everyone thinks the same. These people appear to have no awareness that not all union members are on board with all of this and that many who are members probably have no intention of voting for Labour at the next election.

Have you explored whether Darlington Nurses union would be of any use to you? I don't think it's only for NHS.

I really don’t get the whole ally thing anyway. Why does any grown adult in sound mind ( though TBF I’m sure that excludes a high percentage of trans) need the virtue signalling patronising crap of a few weird flags to make them feel safe? I own a business, it’s not my job to express my feelings/ likes/dislikes and opinions anyway. I’m there to do a job. That’s it. I don’t care about my patients sexual orientations-nothing to do with me. It’s not something I need to know. As for someone going into their local Co op* for a bottle of wine and packet of crisps, does anyone in the store know or care about their sexual orientation?
*Talking of which, no Pride flags in any of the Co ops I’ve been in this year. Last year they were everywhere

This is a page from the book which was deemed suitable for under 12s. It is in public libraries in Ireland - in the adult section for some of them but in the 'young adult' section of others.

Apart from anything else, surely the bit about "douching" is an accident waiting to happen?

Anyone who has met teenage boys can surely see some risks in telling them that "some people squirt water into their back passage"?

Sick of patronising infographic posts preaching what I can and can't do, what I can and can't consume etc. In order to be an ally... etc

This idiot again. She really comes across as incredibly stupid. I thought studies had shown that gender reassignment surgery did little to improve mental health, and as often as not, actually worsened it. Plus how can you compare surgery to a diseased or worn body part to alleviate pain and loss of function with mutilating a healthy body.
She must have the hide of a rhino, as absolutely no one seems to agree with her.

They exhault themselves above everything. Painful knee surgery, get lost! Lifesaving heart op? Go away! Bodily mutilation to try to (and fail to) allieviate gender dysphoria, well, that's the most painful and brave surgery anyone can ever undergo...

Who has regret after a routine operation? I mean if it goes wrong then I get it but who is saying 'I really regret having my appendix out?'
