What is racist is assuming that girls from those cultures shouldn’t be protected because their parents are backward about womens rights. Rapists let off because they ‘ ‘don’t understand’ it’s a complete nonsense, I don’t care if they don’t understand, the punishment should be the same because the behaviour is abhorrent and must be stopped.

To go from criminalising FGM and raising awareness of girls at risk, to “actually FGM is fine” in a matter of years is astonishing.

Circumcision isn't without risks, but in general it still allows boys to enjoy a sex life when they grow to adulthood. It can also lower the risk of some UTIs apparently.
FGM has as its core purpose the PREVENTION of sexual enjoyment by women. It is barbaric both in execution and in intent. Some forms of FGM even prevent safe and hygienic menstruation, and easy childbirth. There are women who have to have their labia unstitched every time they have a baby, and are re-stitched afterwards.
Circumcision is a once-and-for-all operation. FGM is an ongoing horror.

All with masks and black brollies up if someone tried to take their photos. They’re so ridiculously paranoid. It can’t be good for your MH to feel like everyone is out to get you.
