Does anybody remember the US version of shameless where the gay brother ends up dating a trans man? He finds it super difficult at first and the trans men shows him all their “toys”. Talking like they had an actual pen with feeling, um no you don’t if you’re using dildos! They were talking down to the gay character like he was just also what’s wrong with the world like TERFs. Laughable
There have been a few articles about trans men going to gay saunas etc. and being made to feel unwelcome. I think it's something we're going to see more of as the first wave of teenage girls who've had surgery start exploring these places.
It’s funny because a gay friend of mine was talking about how he was becoming fed up with ‘lesbians’ ‘invading’ spaces almost exclusively patronised by gay men (gay clubs and pubs mainly). He was bemused by the sudden influx of females over the last few years. While he was talking I realised that these were not lesbians but trans-identifying (mainly) straight women who’d gone there to try and crack on to gay men - he’d read them as butch lesbians because of the way they presented.
The irony is that a close relative of his is a trans-identifying male and he actually said to me, “we always thought he might be trans because he wanted to wear dresses as a young boy.” So this young man was accepted by him as a ‘woman’, but the TIFs he encountered were only ever perceived as female.

Most men are trans inclusive in the streets, but terfs in the sheets.
There was also an advert / window display for a gay sauna in (I think) Soho featuring hot shirtless tanned gay men and… a doughy TIF in boxers and a bleeping binder.
So as much as we all think gay men aren’t interested in TIFs, they’re still having TIFs presented to them as potential hook up partners.
Whether any actually have the balls (pun intended) to waltz in with their binders on and expect men to find them attractive I don’t know.
Wish I could track down the photo but I can’t find it now. It was a few years ago and all over Twitter at one point.

I have a friend, a drag queen, who was hounded off the gay scene in Manchester for suggesting that there should be more suspicion of weirdo heterosexual men claiming to be women, and he always says that they're all TRAs in the streets and Terfs in the sheets.

It’s the most stupid argument. People’s homes and bathrooms are not open to any random coming along. Public toilets, changing rooms etc are open to strangers. I’m guessing most people aren’t allowing any random in to use their bathroom.

I don’t know if she’s still a thing, but I was in a bookshop this morning and I spotted a pile of her books under a table, pushed to the back and had a good chortle to myself! Hopefully symbolic of her relevance.

The moral of the tale of Ash Sarkar (and others like her, that SuperStanSki person, Otto English etc) is that the ability to come up with zippy zingers on Twitter does not make you an intellectual whose views have any originality or worth.

Believe whatever you want about the world and yourself, and I'll defend your right to believe it, whether that be Christianity or Islam or that the earth is flat or that men magically become women just because they announce it. Freedom of thought and the convergence of different beliefs is central to a democracy. But that's not enough for these people. We must believe the thing they believe, openly, otherwise we're bigots.
It's so individualistic too, like there's a generation of people who have never heard the word no, and think that they alone are the arbiter of acceptability and what is the "right side of history".

I hear that but I think you're understating it, because speaking as a practising Orthodox Christian here, I wouldn't want to live in a country where the government and judiciary were run on theocratic Orthodox lines. And I don't think anyone in Britain has thought that was a good idea since 1829 (although actually the separation of Church and State began a lot earlier with that mad large fucker Henry VIII. Britain is an incredibly forward-thinking nation and always has been.)
I wouldn't want someone to go to prison because they had a different view than me on the Nicene Creed or transubstantiation. But that's exactly what trans people were demanding, because if we accept that trans is a cult, then they actually wanted people to face legal censure or punishment for disbelieving or questioning the trans creed, which is a magical creed whereby words have power to speak things into existence.
So actually it's not about freedom of belief, which, bleepin hell, believe anything you like. (In fact I've even heard that there are some crazy people out there who actually believe Zack Polanski is a politician). It's like, don't make your dumb belief in genderism something from which heresy can get punished in law.
What about the lives of people who "can't or don't want to use services infested with people of the opposite biological sex" ? Do we not merit consideration? (Rhetorical question - of course we don't.)
