Unfortunately Beverley Knight thinks that any questioning of trans ideology is the same as homophobia. She clearly hasn’t given any thought to the impact on women, gay people and vulnerable children. #nodebate

How does she see the current battle for trans rights? “Oh that’s easy,” she says. “Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Human beings are human beings. The end, full stop. I think the moral panic that exists right now is a confection. It is red meat to a particular section of the electorate. They said the same thing years ago about gay people.”


And yet a couple of years earlier, she did partially engage her brain on Woman’s Hour when speaking about the Brit Awards decision to scrap male and female categories in 2022

The singer, a multi-award winner who received an MBE for services to music in 2006, also gave her thoughts on the Brit Awards' decision to scrap male and female categories for 2022.

She said that while she "understood the thinking" behind wanting to remove gender, she was worried the change could "fall for men".

Knight pointed to the greatest songwriter awards she was involved with at the turn of the millennium as evidence, adding there "wasn't a woman among them", despite the influence of Kate Bush and Carole King among others.

Interesting. So she's only concerned about women's rights when it might directly affect her. How disappointing.

BK is so disappointing! Some people need the money and exposure in these hard times and their agents are all encouraging them to get into wider circles, younger audiences, many things promoting 'queer' probably get funded from certain pots. It's a shame.

The real big money should go to experienced and older women performers to get out there and do their thing.
Show the younger women what a career in the arts can look like, what older women really look like, what skills a lifetime of experience looks like.
Demonstrate what a powerful woman over the age of 50, 60, 70, 80 in the arts and on a stage and making music looks like.

In fact, JKR if you're reading this... put some funds and grants out there for women musicians and female bands to keep performing so they don't have to buy into this queer and fkn even worse trans agenda just to get themselves out there and make their agents and managers happy.

I'm not sure we know what women in the public eye really think.

They're just going to trolley out the party line if it means they can be included in radio shows, get TV slots, get gigs, get arts grants funding, be invited to festivals and club nights.

It's sick.

Beverley Knight has a bi daughter - she may be conflating trans with LGB rights in her haste to #BeKind and supportive.
There is always/usually a vested interest for handmaidens I find ....

Public info about her states that she does not have any children due to undergoing a hysterectomy several years ago.

I like the sugababes too.
I wonder how committed these acts really are to the cause or do they just see it as another gig 🤔 some bands will take anything offered for exposure and the money.

I have a long and easily mis-spelt name. It’s annoying to have to constantly spell it, but it doesn’t “distress“ me!

As regards getting seperate sex based facilities for workplace changing rooms - it is sorted, the Supreme Court has clarified that this refers to sex at birth. Any employer having mixed sex workplace changing rooms is not following workplace regulations - surely a perilous position for an employer.

I don't think she meant "no debate" about the subject, just that she didn't want to debate it. Stating her POV then leaving the thread isn't the same IMO. "No debate" is screamed in your face not stepped away from.

I agree that the changing room thing must be illegal and really hope this gives her the courage to protest it.

As for Kimono-clad Fox-Killer's fundraiser I honestly think some acts will do anything to keep themselves in the limelight so I wouldn't read too much into people taking part. It's not like any of the acts mentioned are superstars.

Really happy that he talked about Lynsay Watson's antics as well. It's great for us to have Nick Wallis on our side with his high stock after his excellent, and well received, work on the Post Office scandal. And, of course, it helps that he's a man.

In other words, said poster has no answer to what 'living as a woman' is.

But then again there is no answer to such a stupid meaningless statement.

Does the man (oops sorry transwoman) do all the laundry, sending all the cards, wrapping all the presents, all the school drop offs pick ups, the meal planning, the juggling after school activities, is the one to leave work if the child is ill, continue doing everything above if ill. Have they taken a pay cut for doing the same job they did before because of the pay gap.

Oh is it he's just put on a dress and a bit of lippy.

Because plenty of actual women the real kind not the fake pretend ones don't wear dresses, they wear trousers,they don't wear makeup, they wear blokes hoodies and t shirts because they are longer and less form fitting for example for gym stuff.

Presumably actual females who don't adhere to those tedious pathetic out dated sex stereotypes from decades ago are living their lives as men.
