The 'disguise' was clearly him taking the absolute piss. As for 'seeing if they had improved' - it's your standard tourist fast food place, they all call themselves 'world's best' or whatever, it's not a serious thing. I'm not at all surprised the owner threw him out. Gary was having a cheap laugh, clickbait moment at the guy's expense. I don't think Gary seems to realise the responsibility that comes with his platform.

As for roping in the Morgan guy and trying to goad him into saying the service wasn't good, that was poor form. As was Gary then later in the video revealing what Morgan didn't want to say on camera. Way to breach a professional confidence.

Stumbled across this thread by coincidence but feel almost vindicated reading what you've all put!

I subscribed to him years ago and rarely watch now, but I did put on the recent 'abuse' video wondering what it was about. I was instantly skeptical of his stories. I have no reason to be skeptical of him and before this, was completely ambivalent to him as a YouTuber (if anything slightly positive).

But people don't just run up to strangers, even YouTubing ones, in public and begin antagonising them - particularly men (and he's not small). At a basic psychological level there is no 'win', and there's the risk of physical aggression in return. He isn't a controversial figure, he isn't known for being extravagantly rich or able to grant wishes Mr. Beast style - and he simply isn't well known enough that his face is instantly recognisable. I just don't believe these examples happened.

And seeing the comment that @SwiftieNewRomantics posted - he clearly has the tendency to over-exaggerate. 'Where is your evidence' is not something I would describe as 'the type of things he has to read and put up with' - it's a reasonable question.

He should just leave to comment where it was and not reply - leave it for his followers to deal with.

I unsubscribed to him, Greeno and Hannah a while ago, they were chasing the money - not remaining true to themselves.

I have read in previous vlogs some commenters suggesting it’s his son answering in the comments anyway I’ve also been wondering if that person who he pinned on YT (ie. had the dogs set on them) is even real, I genuinely hope not. Cos I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes, but call me cynical

I generally like your videos but at times you are quite rude to your cameraman which I find very off-putting and not nice at all also please dont do the fold up table and chair outside it is so "attention seeking" and I have always thought you were not like this

Lastly. Anything you do like or just negatives? Lots of criticism but a lack of the opposite...

I dont watch a lot of him anymore and he is going to the same places that "he who wants to be famous" has been to the one with I review in someones house he went there last year I think

thats the rudest ive seen him be in comments, either the mask is slipping or being around danny is a terrible influence on him. And in reply to him 'the exact same way youve been doing it for years before your pal Danny started doing it?'

Gary has been driving me mad for ages. Clicky clicky bait recently. However, he’s redeemed himself with his new review and calling out these Tik Tokkers trying to ruin small businesses!

he's literally no different with the clickbait though, he just does it in long form content 'oh this is awful, oh is it worth the money? (100% is when you actually take into consideration all factors), 'HOW MUCH ?!?!?!', 'food poisoning ??!?!' (a review from years ago). I could go on

I have just watched part of his latest video, and frankly I am appalled. He was in Padstow reviewing a fish and chip shop, owned by the same people who own the two pasty shops. The same pasty shops which Danny v food reviewed.

The title of Gary's video, says he was "thrown" out of the fish an chip shop, because of their previous visits and comments about the food ect. He mentioned that TripAdvisor had been bombarded with one star reviews for the pasty shop, because of Danny's visit. He did at least say that this is the wrong approach.

So Gary puts on a ridiculous wig, and allegedly goes to the fish & chip shop, where he is asked to leave. This supposedly happened off camera. So he made a very poor attempt at humour, at the expense of the owners of the pasty and fish & chip shop.

I don't know if you or any of your cronies read here Gary, but since you teamed up with Danny, your integrity, if you ever had any, has plummeted. You have gone right down in my estimation.

The hypocrasy of it after not a couple of weeks ago trying to be a white knight for the whole Herdwick cafe thing is unbelievable, so scummy and shows a complete lack of integrity anymore

i was saying to my mate the other day, it baffles me how channels like this still get so many views.. watching middle aged men reviewing chips is surely something that's had it's day.. they seem to be constantly on my feed even though i never watch them, i saw half of a video he made with Danny about pie and mash and i had to turn it off, the chemistry between them was so awkward, constantly talking over each other or making weird snidey comments, I think they think it comes across as "banter" ... but it doesn't...
Danny is another one that looks he's getting tired, he had his day during lockdown, but it's probably time to move on.
I reckon they become slaves to the algorithm, and youtube in general
