His latest tour de farce at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant really highlighted a growing trend between him and Danny. They’re preconceiving the results of their “reviews” and this one really showed it off. He went for a “redemption arc” approach, made a point to show that an egg was overcooked and then when it happened again (after he said he wanted to do it straight away so no excuses) he then started making excuses because it didn’t fit the vibe he wanted the video to have.
It’s so much fun when he starts flapping and lying on the spot, he’s a bit of a dullard so he’s not very good at it. Then in the outro he feels the need to tell us again why the egg situation was totally different this time. Multiple takes, photography etc etc. Yet he said he did it right away and then decided it was fine? Which is it Gareth? One wonders if the management team has suggested a good review to keep doors open.
also this brain dead independent businesses thing is a load of hogswash. It’s a pre-built excuse for praising medicore businesses for other motives. Danny had a phase on rate my takeaway of going to dodgy independents that all looked the same, reeking of money laundering. (Who has the money to have full shop fits as an small operation? And they all had pictures of the joker and Tommy Shelby looked like a teenagers bedroom)
Danny came out and said that paid reviews had taken place at RMT, is it still going on?
Gary Lies has started pre-reviewing and dumping googled info on food before he even puts it in his mouth. Usually when there’s someone else on screen. Can’t let someone else have a say.
His behaviour with Si King was insane, what is actually wrong with him. Bit of respect for someone who has actually achieved something, but can’t have that because it highlights how low-brow he really is.
Lastly, jalapeno is pronounced with a H not as its written. Food expert btw

Did he ? I missed that and to think of his indignation and all his I would never do that it's disgusting when there were allegations of paid reviews on the Food Review Club channel.
Once someone admits to doing paid reviews once, I’d never trust they wouldn’t do them in the future. And i don’t believe for a second Gary doesn’t do them.
In his vids talking about leaving RMT the two that were using him to be the presenter had taken money, allegedly. He didn’t claim to have done it himself
Edit: starting 09:52 on his video “I reveal all about rate my takeaway” on Mr and Mrs Yorkshire. It was early on for a facebook video, £250 for travel costs. He says he didn’t know at the time.
Trouble is when they crow about these things it makes it look like they’ve got something to hide. Why not just get on with it without protesting?

Not just Si, I was literally staggered with how he acted with Aktar, joking around about his michelin stars etc like someone said earlier genuinely giving the vibe that he thought he was better than one of the widley regarded (also by other chefs) as one of the best chefs in the country. Literally mind blown, not to mention just generally acting a tit in one of the best restaurants in the country. Loved when Aktar blamed garys pallet when he was trying to joke around (for the however manyth time) about not liking what theyd reccomended) you can really tell they all think he's a clown.
And on the topic of his segment with Si you could feel Si didnt really want to be there, there was a blink and youll miss it bit where he gave gary a 'what the duck is this guy doing' look when he pretended to pass out behind him.
Place he went with whats his name and greeno looked genuinely god awful duck looked like the sole of an old boot.
Even Hannah said the place she took him wasnt very good which was baffling given it was her reccomendation (maybe just wrong food for the weather?)
And ive already said what you can tell the Fallow guys think of him.

I vaguely recall from my teenage years there was a brand called navy something that was the cheapest of the cheap. That’s right up his street.
I remember Players Navy Cut.
They stank.
I’m surprised he doesn’t stink of it. In my experience smokers are never aware of how much they reek. Also he can’t be a food critic’ while smoking. Messes with your taste buds.
Oh he did, I had to stand practically next to him to get sauces etc as they were on a table behind him.
Me too, I used to really like his videos but now he's became really unlikeable.
im still holding onto hope that when he makes this big change to only indipendent restaurants etc with his dreams of supporting them etc things will go somewhat back to how they were without all the bull ragebait and the kinds of people/ community that brings into his audience/ comments. Ill just have to skip the ones where he thinks he's oprah in a charity video making content out of those unfortunate to be struggling
