The parents are enablers and are funding the shopping because even if he got every benefit going he still would struggle to come up with the money he spent on this haul.

I do understand why/how his parents let it get to this point. I know some real life Garys but at his age it’s no longer cute and I agree with the person who said that it’s not 1980 anymore. There are work from home jobs out there that pay well. There are employers who will hire people who need accommodations. There is funding for education. His parents would need to be cruel to he kind and pull out the rug but tbh I’ve never known a family to do this. I image they fear for the “child’s” life in the short term. The big fear is that the “child” would melt down at being forced to pay rent/do a course/look for a job and they’d do something silly.
100% agree

Sadly in the long term they are making it worse. I think anyone in 40s upwards with parents knows how things start to come up with parents as they age. If one of them is taken ill or needs care the money (and their time) will dry up. And when they pass, I hope they have put a plan in place otherwise he is in for a very sad middle and old age

Speaking of care, if he is on disability, I wonder if his parents claim for carer’s allowance as his mum doesn’t work. Would that be a possibility?

Has he ever actually addressed his living situation or do we just assume it's his parent's/relative's house? I only started watching him during lockdown and obviously found out more reading these threads

He talks about it all the time. He lives with his parents.

It’s really quite frightening to see how strongly some of you associate societal value with productivity under capitalism lol.

If he was self reliant then he can get on and do what he likes. But he isn't.

And what societal value does he have sat in his room counting pins?! He isn't contributing to society financially in the form of taxes, or in any practical way such as volunteering.

I have family on benefits who are disabled and would LOVE to be able to work. In any capacity, even volunteering but sadly it's just not possible. I am not anti benefits at all, but I am pro doing as much as you can to help yourself.

Also, if no one had a job and acted like him there would be no taxes to support him

Oh sit down. You can’t take advantage of capitalism (by being heavily invested in a huge corporation and spending thousands of pounds a year with them, and using your persona for an ad/merchandise based form of entertainment) and not have questions raised about your contribution to society (in any way, shape or form).

I'm as big a socialist as they come in the US, but at a certain point, Gary needs to be doing more than bugger all sitting around his parents' home day in and day out and spending thousands of other people's pounds on disposable consumer crap and periodically complaining that he doesn't have any money (that started life belonging to other people).

And yes, anxiety can be a terribly debilitating condition, but Gary's not so anxious as to not be able to swan around WDW dressed as a parrot.

I came across this utterly annoying bleep from Adams videos, but seeing his background he’s an utter waste of space. Can spend others money and is able to go on holiday (more times than people earning a lot each year but are in the adult grown up world) but he can’t get a job.

If I was 42 living in my parents room(which frankly wouldn’t happen as one is dead and the other might as well be) I’d probably book a one way flight to Switzerland and visit Dignitas

He literally spends his life buying tat in theme parks. I’m struggling to see what societal value he has apart from being Twattan’s wankrag.

Honestly, when I first heard about Gary C, it was a post on here about how awful it was that he had to live at home and couldn’t work because of his mental health problems. I felt sorry for him too. Not to go into detail but I have a history of mental health and it’s something I feel very strongly about. I felt bad for the guy.

I do believe a lot of his followers hugely sympathise with him and buy into it too - it’s why they follow him and offer him gifts. They spend their time and money on him. They genuinely care about him.

But it doesn’t take long to realise, hang on, he’s 42, but can’t do his own laundry? Has his parents or Adam buy his food? Cant hoover his bedroom? But he can manage to buy $800 in pins on one trip with other people’s money? This is not mental illness; it is taking the piss.

He makes every single illness/allergy/insecurity his personality and people lap it u. I’m sorry but it’s pathetic and it’s borderline scamming.

If you want to talk capitalism, let’s not do it on a thread about a guy and his friend who leech and rip off a huge cooperation, call it a business and constantly push their followers to buy it

A theater kid with anxiety? More like no talent. I really think his parents did him dirty with enabling this behavior. There are so many remote jobs now. There really is no excuse. His legs hurt because he is a shut-in. It is called atrophy.

Adam seemed to be making so many more comments about Gary's spending in that vlog. Is he finally catching on to him being a grifter? Lots of "how much is that?" and snarky expressions.

Will still get him out on another trip though so I wouldn’t read much into it

Adam always makes snarky comments about Gary, like ‘this is why you don’t pay for your own food Gary’. Deep down he thinks Gary is a loser but he needs the views.

Happy Monday morning everyone! Wish I could plan my week around which photos of my toy Mickey Mouse I will post on IG before mum calls me down for dinner lol

I think Twattan's patience is wearing thin with old Gammy Legs Gary.

Tbf his reaction in the first vlog to that stupid "disposable camera" thing was entirely justified, typical Gary C crap. But yes they are both parasites feeding off each other, I think they need each other to survive at this point.
