Yes, I can feel it during and after an attack, feels about the size of a tennis ball. I only notice it if I lay on my back.

Ahh okay, sounds very similar to the feeling I get but I can feel it’s the shape of a tennis ball, hopefully they can tell me straight away tomorrow!

yes a tennis ball! That’s exactly how I’d describe it! Phew that’s good to know, I was having major anxiety it was something more sinister!
Hope your ultrasound gives you an answer, I was relieved when they could confirm it was that because then I knew there was a fix.
I’d say mine feels like intense pressure in my upper stomach, not necessarily just on the right but the whole top area. Over time as the attacks got worse it radiated into my back, the tennis ball thing feels quite accurate.
Before I knew what it was I described it to my husband as someone was pushing their fist into my rib cage relentlessly.
So I’ve got definitely got gallstones, doctor said my gall bladder is full to the brim, the stones are more like specks but they’re are lots, makes me feel sick to think about it. He said from what he can see, it’s from where I was bringing up so much bile when I was being sick whilst pregnant, it was staying and crystallising in my gallbladder 
how vile is that! He has sent all that to my GP and recommends me getting my gall bladder removed!

I don’t know if your work offers a private healthcare plan but if so I’d recommend going via that - I’ve done that and it will be 4 weeks from me being diagnosed to getting it removed next week whereas dependent on area you could be waiting a while via the nhs.

Getting on okay, still having the attacks the day before a period which is a lovely thing to look forward to every month! Consultant appointment on Wednesday so hoping surgery won’t take too long after that!!
I was never told how many gallstones I actually have - I’m undecided whether I’d like to know or not!

Have you already had gallstones confirmed with an ultrasound? My letter for meeting an nhs surgeon said upper GI but this was post ultrasound diagnosis. I didn’t attend the appointment though as had already arranged surgery privately.
Hey, yeah already confirmed with an ultrasound. Just not sure what my appointment will be to do as there isn’t any details on what will be happening.
How many days to go now for your surgery?
I reckon it’s probably just to discuss if surgery is right for you, go through potential risks etc and make sure you know what to expect if you that route. That’s what mine would have been and what my first appointment was with my private consultant.
My surgery is on Thursday so not long to go! I just want it over with. Still going strong on the 800 cal pre op diet but will be glad to be off it.
Surgery tomorrow and I am SO nervous. Not for the op but for potentially being in pain afterward 🥲

You will be fine. Don’t worry. I had mine done two weeks ago and you’ll be surprised how well you will feel. Make sure to move every hour or so and in between, just rest. Sit still and relax. Don’t do anything strenuous.
I feel amazing now and it’s only been two weeks. In fact, I felt amazing about 4 days after. It’s not as bad as people say. I managed with just paracetamol for 3 days. But don’t stress, they will give you a whole pharmacy load of tablets in case you have a bit more pain. It’s there if you need it.
Food wise I’m still playing it safe but looks like I can tolerate everything like I did before. No issues at all.

Best of luck! It's the only surgery I've ever had so I didn't realise how tired the GA would make me. The gas pains for the first few days was the worst but I'd take recovery from the surgery over an attack any day! Now 4 years post op and I've never had a single issue since.

I am home, had my surgery at 8.30 am and woke up about 10ish.
I won’t lie, I currently feel really awful - not in pain as I’ve had quite a bit of morphine but the tiredness from the GA is something else. I’d had general once 9 years ago but apparently my body handled that much better because I felt fine whereas today I am taking a long time coming out of it.
For some reason my reaction upon waking was to burst into tears every 5-10 minutes for the first 2 hours. No reason as to why just couldn’t not… very odd.
Incisions don’t hurt right now but whole stomach very swollen and already large bruises have appeared. I have been prescribed morphine and have managed to eat a biscuit and a very small amount of mashed potato.
Fingers crossed tomorrow is better

start taking the peppermint capsules/tea as a precaution now. It will help.

I wanted my dad in to see me and they wouldn’t let him because he was a male and it was a woman only ward. I kept crying but I can’t have my mum because she died. Then went back to crying I’m alive. The GA does come crazy tit at timesGood to know others have had a bit of an emotional reaction, I felt like I was being really silly. When my husband saw me he assumed I was in loads of pain because of the crying but I was like nah I don’t know why this is happening haha.Goad you’re home safe and well.

They gave me a lot of fentanyl after which I’ve never had before so maybe that doesn’t agree with me.
Really well thank you - Today has been much better than the previous 2
sleeping better and generally no pain unless I move about so I am ok to just rest and not need the hard meds which is a relief!Eating again (very small amounts but normal diet) and all seems to be well so far
just took my first shower (they used disposable stitches and glue so had to wait 48 hrs post op) and that did really take it out of me so just going to try and do a bit more every day but seems to be on track!Those of you who were back to work 2 days after though are absolute troopers - even though I feel better today I still feel like I’ve been hit by a bus
