I was intrigued by your post @Lionsden so I watched with the sound down to reduce irritation
I reckon that house is about £2300-2500 per month rent. A period house, 4+ bedrooms, right near the sea in Brighton!!
He’ll never get her to Costa Rica unless he builds the massive house first.

Yeah, the closest these two will come to living in a tree house will be a flat pack from the garden center for their kid.
You can tell Raya is already in love with the boutiques nearby and the £7 matcha lattes while Louis got his man cave for housebound adventures with his dad friends.

It looks like Louis made an absolute fortune at the height of his Youtube fame but spent it all and now he’s scrambling to get some back. We have watched him for years, it’s great to be able to discuss him finally!

The trouble is it’s different times, user bases don’t grow like they used to, and now he‘s with Raya he won’t be doing his ”lads on tour” travel, doing backflips in front of world sites. Positioning himself as an eco warrior won’t wash when his vlogs’ main subject requires taking loads of long haul flights. To be fair he does seem to realise that he should travel less and not brag about flying, but he still does it. When he flew to Kenya from Costa Rica for a few days and then complained about plastic packaging on the train food - that was outrageous.

Raya is out of touch as a Youtuber too. She really wants to be this beautiful rich girl that says how lucky she is and everyone envies her, but she’s not quite that, and if she was she’d face a backlash anyway. Mommy blogging is increasingly problematic, people are very concerned about the kids’ privacy now, so she should be careful with that route. Her best bet (assuming she wants to keep doing Youtube) is to go and be an earth mother in Costa Rica so at least they have the community and the scenery to vlog about, but it seems like something’s gone wrong with that.

It’s a shame that nobody ever talks about how Youtube doesn’t last for ever, even Casey Neistat doesn’t vlog like he used to. Like any sort of showbiz career, it comes to a natural end for 99.99% of people. Ideally they could take a break from it and get their family life started off thinking not about what will look cool to others, but what they actually want to do.

How about asking for some when buying takeout 3 times a day. Or at reception. Or anyone at the camp grounds.

Not even gonna waste any energy rolling my eyes at a 39 year old not being able to cook a meal for himself.

I get the impression that very few residents of their commune actually live there full time and a lot of them are just renting out their properties.
It must get old to constantly be surrounded by construction work with new people moving in and out and everyone just driving around there in cars. Doesn't feel like the eco heaven they're trying to sell.

Complete diva she is saying it’s not the end of the world but at the same time acting like it’s the end of the world. Should be grateful that she’s even able to get pregnant and carry a baby till full term. It's funny how they make out they're so adventurous and unconventional, so daring and free, and yet, when it comes down to it, they are as stuffy and bourgeois as the next person, maybe more so in Raya's case. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the baby is going to have a stable environment at least for a while, but it just goes to show how quickly they divert from their path and turn their back on everything they have been raving about for the last years. They are just tourists taking the scenic route, not trailblazers or adventurers.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Will be interesting to find out what they plan about their children's education. Are they home schooling them in that culty Costa Rican eco community or will they send them to the posh boarding school Raya went to?

Did anyone watch the latest vlog? The car basically died and he got a moving van to drive the rest of the way (guessing it was the cheapest option). He still seems so adamant about making it work, either electric or solar. It must drain money fixing everything!

I somehow got sucked into this series and I was with him until he decided to turn north in Texas towards Dallas, Memphis, Nashville, etc. to take a more northerly route.

At one point early on he was showing his route options and one of them was pretty much a southern route on I-10 and then up I-95. That had a higher chance of success since the drive would have been mainly flat. Other than hanging out with Kara and Nate for a day or two, I don't know why he thought going through the Appalachian Mountains was the better option. He should have just flown back with Raya from Nashville and left his van with Kara and Nate.

I don't know why anyone would watch Louis and Raya expecting anything other than consumerism, luxury travel and an enormous carbon footprint.

We're talking about two people living in a 3 story mansion at Brighton beach, who drive luxury cars and go on 3 Dubai vacations a year. That child will no doubt go to private school and later boarding school like Raya did.

Those dreads have looked hideous for years now. He would look loads better with a proper haircut. I always wondered how Raya tolerates it. I guess she likes the free travel enough to endure a few grievances.

Call me cynical but I think this is for an insurance claim.
They left £5000 worth of tech, including “irreplaceable hard drives” on a bus in a jungle in South America? Plus “my SoulCycle and our ebikes”, how many bikes for 2 people?

They left the bus with the dehumidifier running - surely not!! And nobody has keys….
If you have your car ransacked you think about who did it. Was it kids messing, or drug addicts looking for stuff to sell? Locals or disaffected youth from the “community”? But they don’t even mention it. “I think they probably just threw the keys aside” yes I agree Louis, I’m sure that’s what they did, oh look there are the keys in the bushes there, surprise surprise.

Louis is in trouble with the design committee about where the bus is…..Nobody in their incredibly caring eco-community could ask Jose to pull the bus over a few hundred yards to relocate it while he’s building everybody else’s guest houses and man caves?
And Raya just can’t bear to think about the bus….except the whole first part of the video was about how they are going to build and live in a multilevel structure that “comes off the bus”?

No, I don’t buy it. They are setting the stage for selling that plot and getting out of Coasturrrr Reekurrrr. They are out of their depth with proper wealthy people. Understandably in my view too, I wouldn’t want to be one of the few non multimillionaires stuck out on CR with that lot. Living in a bus and a car port while everyone else builds mega eco mansions and hops back to NYC in the private jet for 3 months during the rainy season.

L&R are coming across as very fake as they fabricate these explanations. Give it up guys. Settle in Brighton and take the dolla from the vegan and electric car lobbies.

Oooo yeah good shout. If it was kids / opportunists, I think they would have taken so much more stuff. Clothes / products / kitchen utilities. Everything has a value. And if they had ‘ages’ it would be empty. The millionaires have no reason to break into their van.
Louis knew he was leaving for a long time, there’s no way he would leave ‘irreplaceable’ high value (and relatively small) items behind. They know everything in the van is ruined, left too long, and mouldy. Staging it for sure.

She wants to throw parties when girls get their period. Because there’s shame around it. No there isn’t???? Who on earth is shaming girls for getting their periods! If anything you were laughed at for not getting it early/at the same age as your mates/ this just rubs in the stigma when you don’t get it ‘on time’ cos you won’t have had your party yet. How odd.

I definitely did not want a party when I got mine. I'm sure lots of girls would hate this.

I still don't understand how they are affording it. I can't imagine the YouTube channel is bringing in enough money to sustain building a whole new house? I also can't believe the bus is just in the house , rotting away. I get the feeling Raya is changing her mind about the bus being there. And why haven't they designed any kids bedrooms? Even if they're co sleeping now, surely when the kids get older they need a bedroom for their own privacy and to have a safe space of their own.
Very perplexing!

That's true, and I have no idea what their viewers expect or how they see them. But Raya and Louis seem to see themselves as some kind of eco-friendly pioneers, that's the narrative they create. I don't know if they really cannot see the problems with their lifestyle and lack of authenticity, or if they simply don't want to. Very often, they come across as naive, stupid even. But that would be letting them off easy. I'm sure they know what they are doing, I mean, they delete these comments for a reason, so they must read and understand them. They just don't want uncomfortable thoughts to spoil their easy life.

Watching him try and cook in the latest video is hilarious. He hasn't a clue and he's literally just making pasta and sauce.

He never has both kids together.
He never cooks dinner.
He gets snappy with her.
They just need to “push through and be a loving team”…

Why is their 3 year old constantly sneaking away to get himself food? In the last vlog alone, Louis finds him in the fridge snacking and then says he caught him eating nutritional yeast by the spoonful earlier. And we know he eats 5 bananas a day on top of everything else. Is that not something you would want to keep an eye on as a parent?

Also, it's crazy how much Raya and her sister look alike. Even their voices are similar.

Also interesting, that Raya has left to be with her family in New York while he's spending December alone with this nonsense. I'm guessing that means they've given up creating a livable space somewhere and she'll have the baby in NYC and they'll stay there in one of her parents' properties.
Also wonder, if they'll ever mention their dog again who they've abandoned for the last 6 months.
