Wonder if he has been pushed to it cos Alpine are better performing maybe they want a younger driver there.Apparently there was rumours that Piastri had something in his reserve driver contract that he'd have a seat in F1 within 2 years, meaning someone at Alpine needed to go. Hope Alonso knows what he's getting himself in for! 
The way I didn’t read the notification properly and said ”yeah that makes sense for him to stay at Alpine another year or two” and then released it was Aston Martin. It’s becoming the team where former world champs go to retire apparently.
Yikes I know Fernando doesn't seem to be retiring anytime soon, but moving to AM?! They will suck all life out of him. Surely he doesn't even need the money at this point.
And yet another shitshow from Ferrari... Binotto has lost the plot, saying the car wasn't performing well? This man refuses to take responsibility for anything and instead the drivers are the ones saying they need to speak to the team to figure out what happened. It's clear as day what went wrong! RB starting at P10/11 was a gift and Ferarri needed to capitalise on it to make up for France. I don't think Charles especially has any confidence in the team and I can see Merc finishing second at this rate...

binotto blaming the car when it has been consistently the fastest car on the grid is ridiculous. he never takes responsibility and never points out the obvious - that they completely messed up the strategy, the way he leaves the drivers out to dry annoys me so much.
they have a generational talent in charles and are just slowly destroying his confidence. especially given that he’s already a fairly sensitive sort of driver.
merc will absolutely finish second and max will win. weirdly he should probably thank ferrari when he’s thanking red bull, they helped him just as much!

Will we be chanting Jerry at our screens? But maybe he wants someone a huge fire in their belly and it must be about sponsorships and who they can attract now they’ve had another champion sign with them!
i know!! putting an infamously moody and impatient driver with lance (and in an underperforming team) is absolutely wild - i just can’t see how fernando’s temperament suits that kind of environment.
he may surprise us but i’m not optimistic!
I can't stand him (Binotto obvs). Someone needs to be held responsible for the duck ups and ultimately that person is him. I know we only hear snippets of the radio during races but we've had Toto jumping in to apologise to Lewis/telling George to keep his cool and focus... I feel like Toto gets it and protects his drivers, meanwhile Binotto will hang the pair of them out to dry.
I suppose I'm biased but they are so lucky to have Charles in the team, he's young and has the talent... and also a marketers dream, attractive and speaks Italian, you can't go wrong
I guess we'll see what happens after the break but I think the damage has been done so it's onwards to 2023 at this point...toto is a GREAT team principal (and i dislike him but christian horner is too) - they both build connections with drivers and clearly explain decisions. like you say, toto is always upfront on the radio and jumps in when he sees situations are escalating (like with george). they both also never let their drivers take the blame and seem a little protective of them, especially ch with max.I can't stand him (Binotto obvs). but you’re right, he’s the dream driver in a lot of ways and it’s been a shame to see that despondence start creeping in with him over the last few weeks. he’s definitely an emotional sort and i think knowing the team doesn’t truly have your back must be so hard. the trust just can’t be there anymore. i’m glad he and carlos seem to get on so well though as it’s good to have an ally. i just wonder what he’ll do long-term career wise when he starts getting other offers. i would love to see what charles could do/be with someone like toto or horner tbh. maybe one day we’ll get to!
I'm an Alonso hater (sorry) so I hope he'll learn a bit of humility and manners whilst being there. Good riddance, freedom for Esteban.
I'm so sad for Charles but I think this year won't be it. He's still young, as long as it doesn't get to his head, I'm sure he'll be champion in the very next few years. What a missed opportunity tho.
