Well technically it was if it was in November. What does it matter about the timing? It was a Brazilian podcast in Portuguese. Piquet isn’t popular in Brazil or the rest of the world for that matter so it would take some time to be picked up by the mainstream media.
Have to say I wondered this. Assume podcast was made available in Nov or Dec last year. But whatever he was wrong to say it and we knew it would "a translation issue" as I think this happened before not in F1 but football??? Not sure.

Max is a young Dutch man, son of a conservative Dutch man. Who couldn't stand being associated with their flemish side because they seem them as inferior to Dutch blood. I'm not saying he's a racist, but it's mostly the norm in his demographic. He probably doesn't care about social issues since he's been focused all his life on his sport, but if he hadn't, we would have already seen and heard some pretty nasty things.
