So the calendar has changed again. Turkey seems quite promising but when they moved the champions league from there this week I guess it was pretty inevitable. Not sure we need two Austrian races? I wonder if anymore will face the axe.

There are worries about quite a few of the flyaway races in October/November. Like Brazil, Mexico, Singapore, Australia etc. Whether due to high number of cases or the restrictions on people entering the country.

It's part of why they are stacking the calendar up now even though teams would rather not have 23 races, because F1 has contracts in place requiring a minimum number of races for the TV deals. So, like last season they will do multiple races at venues if necessary and pack them in Europe to make sure they hit the required number of races.

I think your spot on. I can’t see Brazil going ahead, although US seems to be doing better so I can see that one happening. I’m sure I read they only need 8 races to crown a champion so technically just need to get to Austria.

Yeah, it's such a small number of races they need for an official championship. But it's the TV deals that F1 are more concerned with, I think that's 15 races they have to have to fulfil their contracts. They don't want to lose out on any of that previous money.
