I don’t know what I think of the Alpine stuff. Pierre is my favourite driver. It is a concern that he’ll get unceremoniously dumped too at some point. Though dumped is probably harsh since Esteban has a seat for next year and ‘chose’ (though it seems like his it wasn’t really a choice) not to race in favour of testing. The whole set-up at Alpine is mind boggling. How much power does Flavio actually have? The whole Hi-Tech thing. What’s happening with their junior academy? Are they going to dump them all?!
That’s a lot of questions from me about a team who is currently fighting for 6th in the championship because of one huge result
Though if FP standings are representative, it looks like Haas will be scoring the points this weekend.From what I hear Pierre is fine, they're extremely fond of him and he's got good relationships with Flavio and Luca. Flavio is basically a TP in all but name. Ollie still owns HiTech but Alpine's juniors aren't running in his cars next year. Yuki must be well pissed off. Now has a new junior team mate too. It's a pity Yuki just doesn't leave the cesspit that is Red Bull.
I think at the end of 2025 he will. He feels like he’ll end up at Aston, when Fernando decides to leave
But will Fernando retire? He's happy about Adrian Newey joining Aston Martin and the new car he'll design so maybe he'll stay on to 2027? Dunno. As for Lance in the other AM seat, we he ain't going nowhere 🫤
He made a comment which makes me think he’s already planning his next step. He said I want to be involved in an AN car even if I’m not driving it into 2026. His managed driver is now on the grid, I think he’ll become some sort of development driver for them? He’ll be able to negotiate that with Laurence
