Pi3rre. All I need to say!
Definitely wasn’t expecting that 😂 I’m excited for him. I know it’s very unlikely that he’ll stay in that position during the race, but it’s fun after the season that Alpine have had.

Sounds like it but what were the team orders? And surely at this point he realises Carlos is off to Williams so has no reason to be conceding and if he thinks Lewis was hired to play second fiddle to him he’s definitely in for a shock next year.

Is this Charl getting mardy as Carlos did not toe the line with team orders? God knows how Charl.is gonna be with a teammate like Sir Lewis next season 👀 certainly no favouritism
Have you seen his comment when he was told as he was landing the pit lane Carlos wasn’t to challenge him

“Maybe try in Spanish”

Yeah saw that too. "Toys outta the pram" come to mind. Carlos maybe just don't care and thinks f-it I'm doing me. Next 2 races could be interesting

What on earth were those penalties? Where is the consistency? In what other sport do the people at home have a better grasp on how the rules should be applied. Surely there is going to be some serious unrest between the teams the the FIA over the next week?
---
Awful choices by race direction and 5 laps left yet.
The race director does not set the pens, that’s the stewards, the race director should have got the safety car out earlier!!!

It’s time F1 had 2 sets of full time stewards because this is stupid now

Exactly.its like they sit there and think, well we need it interesting for next week to make sure there is some "interest" next week for constructors and 2nd place.yeah I'm a cynic.

And removing your race director with a few races left….. it stinks

Yeah, there has been too many recent "sackings or people leaving" the person in charge is obviously "showing who is boss" manual people who had experience now gone and no disrespect but new people don't have the experience so will be slower/more hesitant to make the decisions (like today)

Should’ve called for SC or something sooner before 2 drivers got punctures 😕

It seems it was his choice as he wants to do the test with Haas straight after the race. Not sure why that means he can’t do the Grand Prix for Alpine.
Naomi was going full on conspiracy theory yesterday and saying Esteban thinks Jack won’t be up to speed in the Alpine so won’t score points but KMag and Hulk are both in good form so could clinch the constructors place and more money for next year when he is a Haas driver.

I guess if they let Esteban go on and do the test with Haas, they can focus on the next race with a view to next year with Jack, without potentially giving away secrets to Esteban for what they plan to do next year? Not sure if that made sense, I'm working and failing at multitasking!

Not a nice way to end his time at Alpine and the timing is weird, but who knows what is going on behind the scenes.

I guess he agreed to it or had his hand forced if he really wanted to do that Haas test. Works for Alpine too to get Doohan in the seat earlier. Hopefully the rumours about Doohan being significantly off the pace are untrue and he isn’t about to be thrown to the wolves. He just need to get through this race without any major drama and not be miles off everyone else. Or at least that is what you would think to be the case, you never know with Alpine!
