I’m going to be watching it a bit delayed so I’ve had to set everything to record on the virgin box up to about 10pm because it has a habit of not keeping up with the recording if the race over runs and just cuts off the recording when it was originally due to end. So annoying because sky just knows and keeps up.

That, despite everything, did have a feel good factor seeing a different constructor on the podium. Nice for alpine!

For all we talk about Max being a fool, I think we may as well talk about Lando's poor sportsmanship as well. He's said that the podium was down to luck, not skill.
Maybe he'd have a point, if the drivers on the podium weren't the only drivers (aside from George) who didn't have a silly off at some point today. Lando had about three of them!

I think when you listen to the Lando quote in its full context, it doesn’t sound as bitter. I don’t think he was specifically talking about the podium. However, there have times this season when he hasn’t come across well. Sometimes he is genuinely dismissive and rude. Other times, I think a lot of it has to do with his wording or more specifically his inability to always word things the way he means them and I’m saying this as a non native English speaker.
All that said, yes, the drivers on the podium got lucky with their free pit stops, but there were opportunities to overtake with two restarts and Lando did not do it.
I was so happy for Pierre and Esteban. It’s been a slog of a season for them.
He'd have a point if he wasn't so fine with weird rule quirks when things work out for him, like Miami or the red flag in qualy. And he really does come across as dismissive and rude, particularly towards Esteban and Max at points, so it's hard to give him benefit of the doubt. Particularly when he's talking about driver talent, it's just needless.
The free pitstops were strategic from at least the Alpine boys - Esteban was asked what tyres he wanted under SC, he said he didn't want any and wanted track position because of the rain. Pierre said straight out when asked that he wasn't going to pit because the rain was bad enough that it'd be red flagged soon.
Alpine's drivers were cleverer than Lando here. And it's potentially netted Enstone 50 million extra...
Tbf some drivers do ignore their teams, George and lando both did make claims to stay out but the their teams called them in, so they did it.
Lando didn't ask to stay out. He actually kept asking to come in if you listen to his radio, because 'it's raining a lot'. McLaren had to keep telling him Charles wasn't making progress through the field on the new tyres.
George did, but caved to his team where the Alpine boys refused.
So does that mean all seats now sorted for next year?

What they mean is contracted seats, as we all know checco won’t be in the red bull come 2025…. So the RB and red bull seat are to be sorted, Lawson will get one of them, but which one still remains the question
