So....to crowbar in an entirely unrelated subject....Please can I ask a favour? Can anyone recommend some good tv to watch?
I’m struggling a bit at the moment and want something to lose myself in and to laugh.
Stuff I have liked:

The Inbetweeners ❤
Parks and Rec
Plebs
The IT crowd
True Blood (but that might have been for Alexander Skarsgard ❤)
Funny, irreverent stuff but not League of Gentlemen weirdness
I loved Merlin (years ago I know) and GOT
Currently watching Lucifer but it isn’t immersing me completely.
I liked the Michael Sheen/David Tennant collaboration which I can’t remember the name of. Good Intentions maybe?

I love, love Louis Theroux, Adam Buxton, Joe Cornish stuff/podcasts.

Nothing heart wrenching. I need no encouragement to cry.

Thank you Fraus.
In addition to the great recommendations here already, can I add Green Wing? An oldie but a goodie!

As for the US Office, skip series 1 because it is cringeola. It gets good after that (but perhaps went on a few too many series in the end)

So for @heretoreaditall2019 and anyone else who's interested, I had my first go with the carpet cleaning this morning, I'm a little disappointed but I think the carpet cleaner isn't a miracle worker so I will just needto clean it on a regular basis.

Omg I love it, a rich coffee brown!

got two pages of this thread to catch up on which is unusual!

I've just started the second season of Riviera, which is enjoyably unbelievable.

Upstart Crow, a British sitcom about Shakespeare starring David Mitchell, is fun.

What are we all having fur lunch today? I’m just enjoying a pastrami and horseradish sandwich. The horseradish is so hot my nose feels like it’s going to fall off. Delicious :giggle:

@Passive_Aggressive_Lemon I love horseradish 😍 rare roast beef horseradish and yorkshire puddings are gorge.

There's half a block of halloumi in the fridge so I'm gonna fry that up and have it on a flatbread with some chilli jam homous and salad 😍 trying to wait until 1pm though as I'm always hungry by 4pm otherwise!

30 Rock! Probably my favourite comedy ever.
I've watched the whole thing probably 4 times and could easily do it again. I know it's a bit problematique but it's so so funny. OUR BASKETBALL HOOP WAS A RIBCAGE. A RIBCAAAAAAAGE.

I just scoffed a chicken caesar baguette from pret on the train as sadly there was nobody handing out bolognese in tupperware. Feeling bored...might do a chaos and tweet eurostar saying there are people getting up in my *niche* or else I start kicking shins.

That sounds so good! My philosophy is to always try and have an extra good lunch on a Monday. I find it makes the worst day of the week bearable.

I once got asked out by a (dishy) cast member of Green Wing. Won’t say which because triangulation is still triangulation, deep regrets not to have accepted

Oh also to add Good Girls on Netflix. I watch too much tv. Also Mrs America is ducking amazing. Cannot stop watching it

So far today I have eaten (if that's even an accurate description), the scrapings of a bowl of carrot cake batter. I'm on my 4th coffee. I really should have some actual food. I have halloumi in the fridge so maybe I should be inspired by you @Babysnark, but cooking=washing up and I've already done my quota of that today after carrot cake assembly.

I’ve just eaten my brunch which was supposed to be dinner. Spicy red lentil and spinach soup with a crumpet - making space in my freezer.

Oh, I loved Shrill! Sublime.

Love Peep Show - haven’t seen it for ages, but one of my favourite bits was when Mark has breakfast with one slice of brown toast for first course, and white toast for pudding: ‘Brown is savoury, and white’s the treat’ 😂
And then says something like “but I’m really laughing , I love brown toast “ classic 😂

I'm having steak for lunch. Dinner will probably just be a salad!

My morning of WFH has been made tedious by the workmen in the building opposite and their very repetitive playlist. OTOH, they've finished painting the exterior now and it looks great. My neighbourhood has suffered in recent years from lack of investment, and it's nice to see it get spruced up a bit.

Does two pieces of Warburton's small Toastie (toasted, obviously), butter, 2 coffees and 1 tea count?

There is no Marmite or Bovril in the shops and I don't do sweet things on toast more than once every 3-4 months.

Was sleeping wonderfully peacefully this morning for a change, thanks to the lovely cool air from the rain.

And then my phone goes off. Medication delivery to book. Put head back down, cat joins and claims 3 pillows as his own. Just closing eyes again, phone goes. It's the hospital, checking that I am coming to my appointment tomorrow. Yes, I am. Put it down, head back down. And then the reminder texts about the various appointments tomorrow, Wednesday and the medication delivery start pinging through.

However, in terms of cutting down caffeine, it's definitely something to do gradually. It never used to affect me at all and I'd have a coffee just before bed and sleep for 9 hours - but these days, no chance; so with the things I had to keep on top of about 4 years ago, I drank more and more Diet Coke, Red Bull, stronger coffee, etc, just to get through the day - and then I was signed off work with a huge PsA flare.

Felt a bit weird the first day, bit headachey by the evening. And then the headache hit. Paracetamol didn't touch it, codeine didn't touch it. Proper, wearing sunglasses in the dark because a chink of a street light 30 foot away on the other side of the road got through the closed blind and felt like my eyes were going to burst, pain. Thought I'd done something horrid to my wonky neck because of where the pain originated. I was constantly clasping an ice pack to my head, taking decongestants in the hope that it was a sinus thing and generally wishing for a quick death.

I realised I hadn't had a single caffeinated drink since the Friday, so I sent Mr D out for three Red Bulls. Caned those, along with some chocolate (which I don't even like) and I started feeling better immediately.

The idea of being dependent upon anything really pisses me off (I'm one of those people who, if prescribed strong painkillers, asks how long before I can come off them again, rather than any other questions), so I drank enough caffeine to not feel like that again but gradually reduced it by firstly winding back the time I had the last one, then gradually reducing the numbers I have - I'm down to two coffees a day, never after 12pm and some teas after that.

I found out that green tea makes me feel sick and that some herbal teas are nicer than others, but the most noticeable thing is that, unless I am actually feeling ill and need a sugar hit, I don't miss fizzy drinks at all. I've always disliked water unless it was straight from a chilled and filtered cooler, so I still need drinks that taste of something - using actual fruit to infuse things is nice and I make an exception for fizzy elderflower and rose lemonade on the rare occasions we're out. But I don't actually need them. And yesterday's single glass of wanky orange juice was the first time I'd had that in months - was very nice, too.

I just had a slice of toast with some tuna mayo, didn't even make the tuna FANCY like I usually do by putting any capers or gherkins through it, I just wanted it plain on sourdough with plenty of butter. It was v. satisfying.
I haven't been to the shops for almost 2 weeks now, so I have nothing fresh at all. Even the last time I went, I barely got anything because my plan was to clear out my freezer. (actually, I don't want to get all up in Jack's niche, but I currently have TWO freezers, both pretty much filled to the max). My problem is, that in order to eat much of the stuff in my freezer I really need some fresh stuff (ie I don't want any moussaka / lasagne without at least a side of rocket, I don't want curry without coriander and yogurt, and I don't want my chilli without coriander, again, and sour cream or creme fraiche mixed with (fresh) lemon.) In other words, I have so much food in the freezer and yet none of it particularly appetising. POOR ME!!

I gave up "real" Coke years ago, and had full-on withdrawal for a few days - headaches, shaking hands, constant irritability. I do drink 0 sugar soft drinks, but nobody's perfect.

I developed a taste for sparkling water after I gave up the sugary stuff. Never saw the point in it when I was younger, but I like it now. I'm not a big drinker, so I'll often have it with a meal, and it feels a bit less spartan than still water.

In drink news, I've rather bizarrely developed a thing for lemon barley water over lockdown. Before I got it a couple of months ago, I hadn't had it in years, but it's really very refreshing!

I had a tuna sweetcorn & salad sandwich, was lovely! Went to the bakery after hospital & there were no yum yums, so had to compromise with a hugely disappointing iced finger.

Also after a crappy 2ish weeks found out I'm allowed to go to full term now so really happy! Would love a nap but our wooden floor man is here and using a circular saw, the cat is terrified underneath the duvet bless her :(
