No problem! Sorry it got so long-winded, nerd over hereAh I see!!
Thanks for explaining x
Very young indeed.Totally agree, she is still so young and there is such a difference in every year of your life in my opinion. And yeah, the message she's putting out is great, but I really hope she doesn't get lost in reality under fame and worship and keeps evaluating and evolving herself.
I’m sure she comes from Plymouth.I have a feeling she comes from Camden and definitely from a middle class/upper class family, so theres some wealth there which could explain the privileged arrogance she's got. Sounds peak but I'd never listen to anyone under the age of 25 for dating and relationship advice.
Did you see Slumflower calling her out on her stories for copying her book? I bought the slumflowers book and honestly its nothing new, a lot of graphics more than writing, and the things she was writing about are pretty basic and have been said a million times before. Way better as a coffee table book then an actual self help book. I think I learnt my lesson with influencer books...
I see she’s got the sex doll bimbo make over…I still follow herShe's all about tapping now.
What is her background? I know she is from Plymouth but not sure on much else in terms of her upbringing.Remember she’s achieved what she has largely bc of her background - if not purely because of it. She’s not a good illustrator or a writer so?…
It’s easy to achieve a lot when you’re born into such privilege.
Btw I loved her a lot when she first started out, and there’s many things I like about her but not so much anymore. Shes pretentious and thinks she’s better than everyone else and is also tone deaf about a lot of important and big things (that relate to women).
Exactly, it’s hardly a new tactic in publishing. Books are often advertised (if not always to the public but maybe in press releases) as “For fans of ....”.If anything she's making sales out of using Florence's name, surely? "If you enjoyed FG you'll LOVE this!" is literally a sales tactic lmao, it's driving traffic to her page so literally creating revenue for her. Why complain lol.
I have read Florence's book, it has some new angles I have never thought of before but most of the book is just nothing new.I’ve read both and the slumflower’s is more about self help and Florence’s about feminism- the aesthetic is similar![]()
We’re all ‘SeLl OuTs’I always come back to the same point. Florence NEVER shares the answers of straight white cis women in their 30s, married with Children. Feminism is for everyone.
Also, the dancing and singing whilst making coffee today on her stories![]()
Very much used to go for Princess Diana look with hairBeautiful looking girl but her hair always looks like it needs a right good wash. Blonde hair tends to show the grease less too, in my experience
I think Munroe is (understandably) staying away from the issue given everything she went through with L’oréal.does anyone know why munroe and megan haven't said anything about what's going on with FG and CE?
I saw a dm munroe sent saying something about only half a story being told but i didn't understand...
I'm a little confused, can you expand on what you mean here?Florence is back online. She's shared 3 fairly innocuous insta stories - all posts made by other people. One is signal boosting radamridwam trying to get their account back, one is a list of activists who help with navigating intimacy, and one is about coming out culture/ heteronormativity.
Tbh I think good for her. I don't think she actually did anything wrong with either her book or her statement and I don't think she deserves to be booted off the platform by the mob. Sure, she's quite annoying and up herself, but basically harmless. Let her and her fans have fun online.
RE Diving Bell, if I were them I'd be livid at how Chidera demanded they handle their own finances. I think they were well within their rights to basically say "and if we don't, then what?". Chidera got in over her head wading in and making demands and not being prepared to back them up and leverage her own power. It basically shows that Chidera didn't believe her demands (of DB making a BLM landing page on their site and donating £100/m to Black Pride) were really worth putting her own neck on the line for, she didn't really want to go as far as threatening to leave or go on strike.
It smacks of virtue signalling. I'm a trade unionist and one of the first things you have to understand when you're organising and trying to achieve an outcome from your employer is the bargaining power you have, i.e. what things can you leverage. That could be your labour (i.e. going on strike/ refusing to do any more work for the company til your demands are met), or your public endorsement of the company, etc. What assets do you have that this company relies on you for, that you can therefore hold over their heads as an ultimatum? To make such significant demands without being prepared to negotiate suggests massive naïvety and immaturity on Chidera's part. I can't believe she's still banging on about all this tbh.
Also they might have signed NDAs with Diving Bell as part of their contracts?Yes! You would expect them to say something, but then? Behind the scenes, who knows if they want to get involved/are waiting for things to clear.
I guess they might not want to feel like they HAVE to pick 'a side'?
I think this is probably it but I also feel they should then leave diving bell. Also they might have signed NDAs with Diving Bell as part of their contracts?
