... you think two spin classes every single day is normal? 🤣

Her and Mike were both OTT about that bike for a while. To start with I thought it was to justify the ridiculous £££ it cost but then, that’s only a drop in the ocean for their bank account! They were basically taking it in constant turns.
If you look at any of the member groups, for Peloton on Facebook, you'll find thats pretty standard. Some people do it only for a short period because of the novelty and some people sustain that level. I think it was particularly common during lock down

I got so dizzy watching her latest vlog. All she did was film the floor for a chunk of it. I also find it hilarious and am insanely jealous that a three hour car ride is considered a long time for those in the UK lol.

You’re often asked to ease back the exercise if you’re trying to become pregnant and having issues doing so, particularly if you don’t have a lot of weight/body large to lose.

Someone like Fleur, who is on the smaller side of a healthy weight range, would have to be careful that she doesn’t experience ovulation issues or hormonal imbalances if she’s exercising too much.

I’m seeing a fertility specialist as I haven’t been able to get pregnant and was asked to cut back on running. I wasn’t doing what some of you would think to be exsessive (roughly 12 miles a week) but it was stopping me from ovulating.

The length of the hallway is insane!

Even though the vlog was mostly an advert for her campaign with Lancome, her vlogs truly are the best and I do appreciate that she continues to do them when so many others have given up.

While exercise is generally good for mental / physical health, it can tip over into obsession. I had a friend who was bulimic. She ‘recovered’ from the bulimia but really all she was doing was exercising every day in an attempt to control her weight. No healthier mentally that when she was bulimic. Orthorexia (obsession with clean eating) is another form of an eating disorder. I’m not suggesting that Fleur is/has ever dealt with this but it’s a sweeping statement to say exercise is always a positive thing.
In that case I will qualify my comment to say exercise is almost always a positive thing.

Over-exercising can definitely cause health issues. Romee Strijd, a Victoria Secret model, mentioned how her doctor said she was exercising too much the past few years and even though she ate a healthy and balanced diet, because she was already quite thin, it was causing her period to disappear and she was having reproductive health issues. She’s since slowed down a lot since the pandemic and is now pregnant. I don’t think two 30-45min spin classes per day like Fleur’s will cause this though.

Either way, miscarriages are always heartbreaking and I hope River will have a little brother or sister soon. Props to Fleur for sharing all this with so much class. ❤

x100. We all have our own definitions of "over exercising." I personally don't think thing there is anything wrong with heavy/cardio for an hour a day, and whatever surplus light exercise someone accrues over the day (walking, swimming).

If people are over exercising due to body dysmorphia that's a whole other mental problem separate to the point of exercising - to be mentally and physically healthy.

I'm fairly certain Fleur would've discussed exercising with her doctor if she thought it was such a concern for her health. I don't think we should speculate about any correlation between exercise and pregnancy/miscarriage because we are neither Fleur nor her doctor. It's really not nice to discuss another woman's pregnancy/miscarriages as it can be triggering. Also fairly certain that Fleur isn't bulimic or obsessed with working out so doing exercise really isn't an issue.

Once again, there was no speculation about correlation between exercise causing miscarriage. The suggestion was that her diet and exercise combined at the time seemed to be a bit intense and perhaps it was related to the trauma of less - which would explain why she seems to have calmed down a bit now, which is obviously positive.

Also, yes, she has in fact apparently had issues with food and exercise. This is the woman who used to restrict her diet and was open about it in vlogs, such as the time she filmed herself just having some broccoli for dinner and said that was something that she does. So it is topical and she’s the one that brings these things into videos/social media. She’s also the one that brought up her pregnancy issues. What exactly do you expect?

I’ve watch Fleur for years (since she started I think) and I’ve never thought she has issues with food. I have never had the impression that she restricts. Fleur and her family have a healthy and varied diet.

Yeah, the only times I've seen her eat things like just veg for dinner are when she's been out and had a big lunch. It's less restriction and more a balanced diet.

I've watched her for years. I think at times she has watched her weight and I think for this reason chooses healthier options in restaurants etc. I can't see how this means she has "issues" a word which at the stage I think is grossly overused. The three of them seem to eat very well.

I'm not saying spinning two classes consecutively is necessarily overexercising, but may I ask those who do, HOW?!

I always enjoyed spinning and felt like I really worked hard in the sessions and tried my best, I love it. But once I tried to do it the next day and I could not... maybe I didn't eat enough that day. Also I get terribly red and sweaty, and my hair gets basically 100% damp at the back. How are people doing this twice at different points in the day, are you just not sweaty people?

She puts her life online so is understandably weight conscious. At times both my friends & I have done different diets, gone to various exercise classes etc. My sister had an eating disorder. There is a vast vast difference between the two. My sister had issues, the rest of us were exhibiting completely normal behaviour. I've never seen anything to suggest Fleur had any serious issues around food.

Think it just depends on the person and where their strengths lie. I can easily do two spin classes but running? Nope 😂

I restrict my diet. I eat hardly any carbs apart from vegetables and fruit. I only eat 2 meals a day. I don’t snack or graze. I do it to keep my weight down for health reasons, I also exercise a lot. Aside from people with anorexia, bulimia etc why would this be concerning if Fleur also did something similar? I’m not asking aggressively just interested in opinions 😊

Exactly.

There is nothing wrong with having a daily caloric goal for either weight loss, gain or maintenance.

You’ve just said that the exercising being too much could have been a cause for her miscarriage so you are suggesting there is a correlation.
I don’t expect grown adults to speculate about other people’s miscarriages. IMO it’s disrespectful.

I would say that that could be a form of orthorexia in some cases. Do you allow yourself flexibility with your diet? Do you have treats/unhealthy foods every now and then? Obviously it's good to eat healthily, but there has to be a balance, I think.

Saying that it "was related to the trauma of loss" means that they think it was her way of coping AFTER the miscarriage, not that it caused it.

Honestly, am fed up with people saying pregnant folk/people trying to get pregnant should cut back exercise or not exercise at all, it is so outdated. It depends on the individual. I worked at a gym, and know plenty of women who exercised all through their pregnancy (weight/strength and HIIT), some up until the week before their due date and were fine. They did modifications if needed and discussed it with their gyne.

That isn't aimed at any one individual here but thought I would mention it as it is being spoken about. And in real life people voice their unwanted opinions too.
