River is only 3. Even when my kids were older than that, I wouldn't have left them, even for an overnight stay, unless abolutely necessary. And let's not forget, she's been abandoning River since she was a few weeks' old


Really? I don't. I see her put her kid in front of the telly - a lot. I see her jet off on trips whenever she can. I'm sure River wants for nothing materially, but Fleur is too selfish and self-involved to be a good mother.

Wow you guys are touchy! I'm sorry if it offends your woke sensitivities, but biologically yes, it is more important for the mother to be with her kids in the early years. Why do you think maternity leave is a thing, whereas very few men take paternity leave, and if they do, for a much shorter period of time?

I have to admit, although I find Fleur to be a bit of an arsehole and I hated her announcement this week (wtf was she announcing? Other than her new brand obvs. Dick move) I will miss her Vlogmas and random vlogs. Great mindless viewing, and a bit like Oatly: problematic but enjoyable and hard to find palatable alternatives

That seemed very emotional and heartfelt but actually was extremely calculating.

She announced is stepping back right before she launches her brand to increase interest. Why not announce it in the new year? It is because it is a marketing strategy.

She mentioned she has been working on her own brand for 10 months and that she choose not to go with a brand collaboration that had been in talks for a couple of years. Coincidence that this new brand came about right after Dubai? No, I'd say the other company pulled the plug on any deal.

It was edited but sill left in clips of her crying while being coy on purpose to gain sympathy. If you don't want to talk about it don't bring it up, she was completely comfortable to leave out the elephant in the room which is the Dubai trip and trolling.

Also River and Raven? Seriously? I don't actually think she would have used that name and it is just a name she liked but wouldn't use with River. She is tacky but I don't think she is matching names tacky.

Yep. I'd have respected her more if she'd done this in the new year. Now it comes across as she wants people to watch the videos coming up because they might be her last... but they might not. But oh hey! Watch them!

She could have just said it won't be a regular thing, she might pop up once in a while, depending on what she has to share. Which I assume is what will happen anyways. If she has jewelry to shill, she might go back and share some videos.

I don't know, this video said nothing. It's like "goodbye, but not goodbye, but maybe goodbye, perhaps, but I feel like I might come back, but who knows? It's not forever, but yeah," So, if she doesn't know... then what was the point of the video?

I do think she's right to step back, her videos have become super basic, she's basically a billboard for things she herself doesn't wear or things that are out of budget for most people, she has her fertility struggles, she doesn't need the money, etc. This just felt so... not like a goodbye or like a break or anything.

I don't want to defend Fleur, but with social media we only see what people want us to see. She might have been pretending to drink to keep up appearances when they realized how difficult TTC would be..

Even my own friends who have children have admitted to buying alcohol free wine to bring to parties and pretending that they're drinking when they first fall pregnant or are TTC.

I think both perspectives are valid. It is a struggle not to be able to have a second child and I often feel very sad about the fact that I can’t. But I’m quite careful who I do talk to about it. I have close friends going through IVF and also one who needed a hysterectomy young, so it would be really insensitive to talk about it to them. With Fleur, I think it’s fair for her to speak about this struggle and to be emotional about, however she should have acknowledged how lucky she is to have River, considering her audience will include plenty of people who are not parents and want to be.

She has spoken openly about struggling with her fertility and wanting another baby. I'm sure if she does become pregnant, and it is viable, she will shout it from the rooftops. Until then, speculating and gossiping about it not only triggers her, but could trigger a lot of women who have similar issues with their fertility.

We can talk all day about her dreadful style choices, or her blatant lack of regard for covid 19, but there isn't really a need to speculate on pregnancy.

Do you not see the double standard there - do you not think her “shouting from the rooftops” about being pregnant (as she did the whole time she was pregnant with River, when she kept telling everyone how easy it was to get pregnant and be pregnant) is “triggering” for many, many other people?

I actually think some of the pieces are beautiful, but I’m so over influencers and their brands that I actually refuse to line any of their pockets. I would be interested in that ring if I saw it in a little independently owned jewellery store, it’s a lovely ring but the fact it’s Fleur’s brand kind of cheapens it for me

AKA I don’t trust my husband with the kids.. a few of my friends are like this husbands are useless so they disguise it as “ a mother shouldn’t leave their kids” it’s actually really sad

Or when she feels confident enough to vlog her life again. She must know that Dubai really ruined things on that front for her. So many came back to tune in when she vlogged during the 2020 lockdown and seemed pretty open with her life. The way she was able to pretend to be in the same boat as everyone else (while living in a mansion with a park, pool, tennis court and whatnot) and to follow covid guidelines, is quite amazing in hindsight. One "secret" trip was the end to that (look at how even from Dubai she tried to pretend to be at home and feel with everyone who was affected by the latest restrictions at the time). She knows it. And she's been mad at her viewers ever since, which I think is the main reason for this weird goodbye/stepping back from YT thing, which doesnt even seem real.
