I'm sure that Fleur loves her children (especially doing mini-me stuff with River), but I think she does motherhood on her own terms, as she has always done pretty much everything. She was never the most enthusiastic about the pregnancy and infant stage (apart from the freebies, obviously), and I don't particularly have a problem with that – not every woman is suited to motherhood, and the kind of super-involved parenting that is considered normal now was never normal for rich people. Fleur herself went to a boarding school, and her family isn't even that rich compared to Mike's.

I don't have children because I'm not at all maternal (except towards my cat, who is naturally my perfect sweet angel baby :p), but I think it was expected that Fleur would have at least a couple, and she's said lots of times in vlogs that Mike wanted a son. I'm sure her children know that they're loved and have lots of family around them with the grandparents still being alive and various cousins, etc., not to mention the kind of lifestyle and opportunities in life that most parents could only dream of giving their children. Fleur has always been all about Fleur and I don't think that will change now.
I do think to be fair, that Fleur adores her kids. I think she also clearly wanted kids and would have been the one of the two to go for another. You can tell from her conversations with River that they do a lot together. And she think the little guy is the cutest thing.

She has a lot of time to spend with them, she does a small amount of YouTube & some work with the jewellery stuff.

She has the money & time to travel so why not if she wants to. The kids will be doted on by their entire village & she’s married to a nice, reliable guy who clearly adores them all so it’s not like her kids are missing out.

I think they have an amazing life. They still seem to be happily married, two healthy kids, very close wider family, well off enough to go on multiple holidays, have experiences, go on shopping sprees etc.

Yes, I agree with all of that. She just has the resources to mostly do the parts of parenting she enjoys and opt out of the bits she doesn't. And of course she can take much more frequent breaks than most mothers, while still knowing that her children will be absolutely fine.

You can really tell the difference in the general happiness/contentedness levels of influencers who do it because they want to, but don't have any real pressure to make money vs. the ones that need to be constantly competing for brand deals and followers. Fleur is most definitely in the first category.

She does have a dream life when it comes to parenting. I’d love to be able to send my kids to private school etc while still have an amazing quality of life myself.

I love her vlogs so I’m a hypocrite, but I’d hate to give up my privacy like that. And open yourself up to Daily Mail articles etc. If I was her I’d roam my grounds, watch my gardener, stroll into a courtesy of cleaner clean house & have my mates over to booze on the lawn. I’d hate to have to film any of it!! Not to mind worry about what I look like all the time!

Out of sheer nosiness on my part, I do wish she'd do a proper house tour, because that place is MASSIVE – way bigger than she's ever let on. She's let slip a few times in vlogs that there are rooms/entire parts of the house that she just doesn't ever go into and has basically no idea what's even in them.

See I don't mind whatever the hell she does with her life and her children's life.. it's the hypocrisy of her own comments about motherhood and sacrifices... During one of her London pop ups she talked about how she misses the kids and the sacrifice of working women. What the hell does she know about the sacrifices of working mothers? the woman is on/off planes all over europe all the time and compares herself to mother working 9to5 or more and missing so much of their children's life... Argh she makes me mad sometimes
I agree. Completely out of touch.

Me too. There’s quite a lot of it in the Covid vlogs.

I’d hate to live in it. I’d feel so vulnerable there alone with the kids. I love bits of it - boot room, cinema room, kitchen etc. Half the size of house with proper insulation would give her a better quality of life.

I’d keep the grounds though - yes please!

The property is owned by their family for generations, I don't remember on Fleurs or Mikes side though (I believe so were other houses they previously lived in).
Their parents used to live in their current property, but wanted to downsize in the size and also amount of maintenance work, so Fleur and Mike took over.
Ah the mortgageless life, a girl can dream 🥴

Well, just one generation. Mike's parents bought it and lived in it until Mike took on a bigger role in the family car business and I guess his parents semi-retired/downsized. I remember it all being very sudden and Fleur not seeming too happy to leave the lovely place they had before, but it probably made sense for inheritance tax reasons.

The house Fleur and Mike lived in during her early YouTube days was on his parents‘ property. The forever home they bought before they got married was their own, though Fleur insinuated that their parents helped out with the purchase (understandably; even with her YouTube money she wouldn’t have been able to afford a place like that).
And then there was the sudden move into Mike‘s parents place where they are now.

By the way, I think you can be jealous of (the curated version of) her life and still criticize her influencer shenanigans. She’s not any better in that regard than others. Her wealth and seemingly perfect life don’t exempt her from any criticism.

They had their wedding reception on the grounds of that house. You can see the trimmed trees. She did a Q&A and said the venue was "mikes parents house". It's not hard to find.. Newnham in Daventry

Am I the only person who thinks the new sofas are hideous? Haven’t seen anyone comment so far. They look so cheap & those thin seat cushions cannot be comfortable. The new rug clashes horribly too.

Awful. And why would they buy Ikea sofas? Even if the dogs sleep on them, they could have gotten something way better quality with washable covers. It’s also bizarre that she bought sofas that Mike didn’t like. He will have to sit on those every day for years.

I think they’re sweet but they’re more suited to outdoors. Also the new rug doesn’t match whatsoever

If they’re just glorified dog beds may as well keep the old set and put a blanket on them or something 🤷🏻‍♀️ the frill on the new ones is an interesting choice…

She strikes me as one of those people who thinks she's more important because she has a husband and kids. Like I could totally picture her at a brunch with her single friends (not that she would have any non-mom friends lol) and using a condescending tone with them. She just has this arrogance that is totally unwarranted.

Wasn’t Mike’s dad ill and that is why they had to move suddenly if I remember correctly?

If you google the property, it was either in Christie’s or Sotheby’s before. One article said that it was the largest for their area (acerage and square footage).
