I love Tessa, she seems really down to earth. Much more than the passive aggressive mean girl twins.

Is it normal for bakeries etc to buy all their stock from supermarkets or should they really be going to a wholesaler? Isobel has put up a post with a trolley full of Easter eggs and other bakers have said they’ve done the same, I feel like it’s a bit bad buying all the supermarket stock, it so annoying going in and there being hardly any Easter eggs left! I remember trying to buy about ten for work before and was told there was a limit!!
I always find it weird they do this too. Always see them buying so much stork and just think why would you not get it at a wholesaler. Think they are just lazy tbh.

Anyone ever heard of the Hummingbird Bakery? We had a recipe book once and they had these brownies that were brownie, cheesecake and raspberry cream 😱🤤

I’m really interested to see what’s going to be in the book because they seemed to have created loads of new recipes just for the book which seems to defeat the object...is it going to just be stuff like ‘use melted spread for a drip’ and ‘the same buttercream recipe the rest of the world uses’, surely they’re not going to give away the actual recipes they use for their business? Jane’s Patisserie also has a book coming out and as much as I love her recipes I’m wondering the same, will it just be the same old stuff bound in a pretty book
I wondered if Jane was bringing out a book for people who don’t like/can’t print out her recipes and prefer not to use a tablet. I must admit I’m a sucker for a recipe book, can’t bear to keep touching my phone with dirty hands!

I quite like the name Alba and even Kit a little bit but it’s the middle names that make it sound chavvy , I mean pixie and wolf? Wtf? 🤣

I remember in a live baby Alba sicked up in the kitchen too. It wasn’t in or near food, but still not nice when it’s supposed to be a food prep area for customers

Thanks guys! Made those brownies this morning snd they’ve turned out amazing!
They look nice!

Are people a middle or an edge piece when it comes to brownies? I love a warm middle piece but a cold edge piece.

But a brownie is a brownie and I'd eat it regardless 🤣

Has anyone ordered cakes from ‘Ridiculously Rich By Alana’ ? She won the Apprentice a few years back but has bought out Alan Sugar’s initial investment . She has her core classic range and special boxes, she’s also really polite and professional as well and took time to personally reply to a message I’d sent asking if she was going to bring back her gorgeous Malteser tiffin. I’ve ordered from her for myself and also for presents, highly recommended.

They used to get really annoyed when people used to point out that they never wore hair nets and they said they were told they didn't have to

Seems she has removed all photos of him and changed her profile?
Oh yeah, obviously still reading here. I wasn’t even saying it in a mean way, he’s a cute baby! He’s just not curly like she keeps saying? I just find it strange that everyday she talks about his curls when he doesn’t have curls? Why not appreciate your children for what they do have

Isn’t food hygiene about the environment the food is prepared in? So not sure if where the food sits to be sold is taken into account? Everything out on display will surely not be allowed when they reopen? Even if Covid isn’t around i feel like people will be so much more picky about things like that 😂
I also can’t believe they harp on about ratings when there’s isn’t that great 🤣
Food hygiene in industrial and commercial kitchens is seriously thorough! They check inside cupboards, dates, fridge temps, under ovens and they also ask kitchen staff lots on allergens. I’m shocked they only scored satisfactory tbh 😬

think I’d rather eat out of a unregistered kitchen from a careful baker than them with their 3 stars

Ah good for tessa, I think it’s brave to start a new career especially going back in to learning at 28 not that 28 is old but it must be daunting the thought of going back in to full education after working etc
