People can get a bit carried away with precision over direction and it takes a Feng Shui Master to actually work out the correct co-ordinates precisely Using a compass. So for simplicity’s sake if you hold the bagua in front of you standing in the doorway of a room this shows you where your wealth corner is, your relationship corner etc etc etc. So if you want a better relationship for instance place twos of items in that area. If you want more prosperity the SE corner is a good place for your money toad or coins. I have a gold bowl with chinese FS coins in mine for example. You might want to put your money toad there if you like it or a money plant etc.

Also you can overlay the bagua on each floor of your house so it could show you where to place children’s rooms or the best place for your own bedroom etc..

I feel I have to find a place to fit. I don't believe in the spiritual side of Feng Shui, but it surely is aesthetically pleasing and also in a way comforting. Like the thing with the bed opposite to the door. In my new place I am able to have the bed positioned not directly opposite of a door, and it's so much nicer and feels better.
Hello old friend. You don’t need to believe in it but maybe give it a go and suspend your disbelief for a short time and see what transpires. Openess at times like this can serve as a good ally...I’m so glad your new bedroom feels better for you. Good alignment can make a world of difference can’t it. 💛

My money plants have arrived! I ordered them online.

The three crassulas are tiny and the pots I have are too big. I will need to get some very small green pots for them or possibly repot them soon.

The ones with the leaves that look like coins are a pair - I put them in the romance corner until I get a third one (or should I rather move them in the wealth corner despite them being two, not three)? Maybe they will send me a wealthy man?

So far the little toad hasn't been as helpful as he could have. Lets see, it is his second day.
Twos are for relationship and money plants are for wealth corners. twos of heart shaped items good in relationship corners and symbols of money good in wealth corners. Your money toad may need more than a day - give him a chance

I have another question, please.

I would like to do up my relationship corner tonight. I have four storage boxes that are still unpacked currently stacked in this corner.
Could I build a kind of "unit" with them and throw a blanket over them? And over this blanket I could then decorate the relationship corner?

I am asking as I am in this flat temporarily. I don't have sufficient storage space for the boxes nor sufficient space in the cupboards to unpack them.

Any advice? What do you think?
Short answer is yes because you are dealing with imagery and intention. I maybe might not expect anything of great substance however, you may get a nice distraction until you are able to feel more settled. Really admire how you are really going for this - your commitment should start to pay dividends. Keep letting us know x💛

Can I ask what is the benefit of clapping and how
Clapping moves stagnant energy and clears the feeling in the room. You clap up and down in the corners of each room and you can actually feel an improvement when you do it. Its all explained earlier in the thread. You might find it interesting - I hope you do 💛

Question re Feng Shui and business;

Husband is self employed. I file his invoices to customers in a blue A4 ring binder. I also file his bank statements and VAT return in another blue A4 binder.
Would a different colour binder be more auspicious or a patterned binder or attach coins, etc?
Would appreciate any thoughts please.

I have silly question about the money toad. I see he does not work on the weekends and I have to turn him. I offten travel for work (in normal times), should I turn him when I leave, as I won't be home to turn him on the weekend?

Question, please.

Our oldest is graduating from high school this summer, which is a big deal in America. I was thinking of gifting her a money toad. I feel it's an auspicious time for her to receive her first one. Is it better if she picks it? Or can we get her the one we love best? Also, does the material of a money toad have any significance? I found a brass one that looks amazing.

I’m still working my way through this interesting thread. You all seem like such lovely people, I’m so glad I found you. Please excuse me if these questions have been asked before.... what is Lydia’s Thread and if I wanted to improve my health can you suggest something to put in my health area? I’m suffering dreadfully with the menopause, it’s beating me sideways, so any help would so appreciated. Also, financially we take three steps forward and two back and it’s been like this for years
💗😘
If you press search forum and type in menopause on Tattle - you will find it very interesting re feedback from Tattlers going through the challenges of menopause and products they recommend. I always find people’s experiences helpful rather than, for example, celeb endorsements. I went through it a lot earlier than my friends so I can say, hand on heart, it gets much easier. I had about five years of palpitations, hot flashes, skin issues and weight gain, and I don’t suffer from any of them any more. A friend recently went on HRT for mood swings specifically and it helped greatly. If weight gain is a concern, intermittent fasting is very effective. My concern was having to replace my existing wardrobe of clothes so IF to the rescue! Hope this helps ❤

I did clapping this morning after seeing your post about clapping the other day @Oops... But I think I was doing it wrong.😅 I was just clapping with no sense of direction. I would love to participate in group clapping. Sunday might work well for me.

Also is living under the stairs bad juju? My old apartment complex is 3 floors and my front door is right behind the stairs. I hated walking in every day because it felt that I am walking right under the stairs to get to front door. I got into a lot of arguments. We had to leave within 2 weeks of moving in due to legal reasons between the owner and the board of directors of the apartment complex. (this was all in middle of lockdown and we were only given a one day notice). Now this new place we are at is also slightly behind/under the stairs. Should we move?

Oh your poor girl! Kids these days have pressures that didn't seem to exist when we were their age. Or it feels like that anyways. I'm happy she's getting help. Therapy, when provided by someone that clicks with the patient, is invaluable. Anxiety and even OCD seems to be far more common these days in younger adults, and I can understand why. They have much to contend with. It must be terribly difficult for you. Parenting is so hard!! Ugh.

I tell myself we're lucky because both our girls are very responsible with their schooling, but sometimes I wish they'd be a little bit less extreme. They put themselves under extreme pressure to do everything perfectly. The times I've seen them rewriting something to make it just so, the perfectionism, concerns me. Life is sure to throw its curve balls and I worry about how they will cope since they lose their minds when they don't get perfect scores on one test.

The one that is graduating high-school has decided to start university within 1 week of graduating from high school. She applied for early placement without discussing it with us first. I'm a bit alarmed at the rush, although I understand and am trying to be supportive. I'm certain the pressure of uni will be far greater than anything she's known before.

Sending you and your girl hugs.❤
Loved your post. Congrats to your daughter on her uni placement and every success to her - it’s very exciting although I understand your reservations. Please, please keep us posted. I will be so interested to hear of her progress. ❤

I was wondering if you could try keeping a rose quartz very close by (or better still actually on you in a pocket etc) and maybe introduce the sound of running water playing quietly in the background. You can find recordings of this on YouTube. (I’m thinking the kind of sound that a fountain might make with a gentle trickling noise). The sound of running water can be very useful indeed for energising a work area. In addition I wondered if you had a living plant on your desk as this can be good placed to the left hand side. Have you tried setting your intention to be more motivated? That could really help you too. I know this might possibly sound a bit far fetched but give it a go maybe and then see if things feel a little better. Just doing one of these things can change energy quickly for the better. Love to hear how you get on :m.

Just a note generally for everyone. Plants with spiky upright leaves are not very good Feng Shui nor are prickly cacti. They are said to energise arguments and dissent. So when looking for indoor plants for your home its considered good to have plants with round, heart-shaped or oval leaves. Just thought I should mention that. Hope this helps :m.
Thanks for your tips! I have a gerbera daisy plant on my desk but I’ll move this to my left side. I’ve been thinking of getting a pink rose quartz for a while - maybe in a pendant form to wear around my neck 🙂 I’ll check back in to let you know how I’m getting on!

Do you think it's something that is okay to be done frequently.. say monthly? or would that be too much? Don't want to mess anything up, but there are just a few things I'd like to do different next time, though there is no need for me to rush into it.

Re work, it's a combination of different elements making me extremely anxious. The commute being one of them! But also being around people all day again and certain office politics/dynamics. I feel so much happier and at peace at home. I am enjoying my job a lot more and am far more productive. The question of working from home post covid, has already come up. Your idea of 'donating' my time is excellent and one I would have gone for. Unfortunately, the company I work for are rather backwards in that respect; very set in their ways and not open to change. Very odd considering the industry I am in (I work for a large American corporation based in London, maybe this has some impact!?) They've acknowledged that productivity has increased this last year, but they want to go back to having an 'office presence' as soon as this is over
Maybe it's time to find a new job!! xx
Well I found myself getting a little befuddled over that! If they have acknowledged your productivity has gone up why would they want to make unnecessary waves? It sounds a little short sighted to me. Do you feel able to write to them saying how much you like your job and that you are aware you work better at home (proven) and that whilst you understand they might wish to reunite the team you are in no way averse to remain working from home. Might you be able to say that you firmly believe it is because you do not have the considerable stress of the commute that you have enjoyed your job so much more? Then you might say that you fully understand if they might not have previously considered this and that you thought you should make them aware of the option you are suggesting in order to keep flourishing in the satisfying way you have. Naturally you will be delighted to return at the appointed time if they think this is something they don’t want to consider. You’ll get a definitive answer which might be the one you hoped for whereas if you don’t ask they maybe won‘t intuit it on your behalf. A nice polite notification like that may make them see you in a really good light and quite possibly reconsider. If all of your company felt similarly you would save the company shed loads of money on the rent they pay for their premises (providing they can assign the lease of course!) Just an idea. All you are doing here is letting them know the commute takes it out of you. Maybe focus on how it would feel to get a yes when you expected a no! I think the Ancient Chinese called this conundrum ‘Overcoming Obstacles’. The perfect solution on the other hand is to picture your perfect job right on your doorstep with a massive pay rise and no office politics to boot. So that might be ‘Drawing the Seemingly Impossible’...Did you change you home office round btw? Maybe read up a little on activating your recognition area in your office and your work area too. This is fairly easy to do with object placements and setting intention as you place them.

I’m intrigued to know how this pans out for you! :m

I don’t think there is ever a right or a wrong time to do energy clearing since the best time to do it is when It feels right. So ask yourself when is the next time you would like to do it again and then do it. Its very clear you were very focussed last time or you would not have felt the rush of emotions you did. Hope this helps and dooooo let us know what happens xx

Astrology is actually a fascinating subject to learn about, most people consider it the horoscope you read in the paper and poo poo it.
It is far more than that, if you look up your birth chart and read about the planets and the signs they govern and what sign they was in at the time you was born.
You will honestly be shocked to realise your personality is far more complex and spot on than just being for example a Leo or a Scorpio sun and you will learn so much about yourself and how you tick like emotionally and love language and temper etc.

Astrology is also how the planets move and stuff, like now we’re currently in mercury retrograde until the end of the month, this happens 3/4 times a year and you should try to be conscious of that if you’re waiting on emails/letters and technology suddenly breaking down.

Their is a new moon lunar eclipse in Gemini tomorrow which is rather powerful if you want to set intentions in the hope they manifest.
You do this on new moons in general and if they’re meant for you will hopefully manifest by the next full moon in that sign which is generally a year I believe. Full moons are generally for releasing things that no longer serve.

Sorry if that’s a lot of information but generally I advocate for astrology as I believe in the process and structure of it ☺

Hmm, would secondhand books count? I recently purchased a box of them.

I'll give my house a deep clean this weekend. I've actually had a clear out of a load of my stuff recently, which is now all sitting in bags waiting to taken to the charity shop, so maybe I'll actually do that too this weekend.
Yes (sorry, not what you would have liked to hear!).

A deep clean - to get rid of dust, etc., - is a good idea, but also give your house a thorough energy clean/clearing. I like to use Palo Santo as I love the scent; others will suggest sage; some even just use a bell ...

---

@xxAprilxx Another thing you might like to check - if you have anything broken or chipped ... clocks, plates, glasses, etc., either get them repaired or chuck them.

What a lovely idea! Mine is graduating from school also this year. It has been a very difficult year. She is outstanding academically and a very hard worker historically. This year, though, she changed school to an Institute/Grind school that focusses on exam strategy and ultimate results, etc. Her idea, absolutely against my wishes. It was chaotic. She had a breakdown in August before she started and was in intense therapy until December (still ongoing) but remembers pretty much nothing from that time, let alone her education, and her results plummeted. She has always suffered from intense anxiety since she was a toddler.

Covid has removed socialisation and normality for these kids and, here in Ireland, the third lockdown presently, has been extended to end May. Extremely difficult to provide a healthy, balanced, environment for teens stuck with their parents all day.

Just to say, all the best to your oldest and the money toad is a lovely idea. Mine looked v gold in the pic but it is really nice - brassy colour irl. I got mine on Amazon (it’s lockdown, what can you do?) for about 30eu.

Hi there

Well-known member
Thank you ladies @Oops... and @Milking Keynes ❤ How wonderful to know there are people who you have never had the honour to meet can provide so much warmth and comfort. Absolutely needed these words from you two. I’ll try and find the book you recommended. Thank you xxxx
Yes, I had already decided to give each other space for a little while, I had told myself that if he wants to come and see Casper and spend some time over mine I wouldn’t stop him. He absolutely dots on him. Also, to give myself some reflection time till may be end of the year. Thank you for gentle but meaningful encouragement. So so touched and grateful X
