Her audience is largely made up of people who have experienced baby loss like she has, I would hardly call them sheep. If they buy her book which I’m sure many will it’ll be because the subject matter of pregnancy and birth after loss is something near and dear to them or someone they love. What’s your issue with her, the fact she chose to take some time for her and the baby rather than be on Instagram? The critics would have been out in force on that one too
I dont have an issue with her, am delighted she now has her baby and understand why she has taken a break. i just think these instagrammers arent our friends, they use their followers for their own means and basically to make money.

She has replied to someone on one of her photos saying she has no plans to share the face OR name of the baby, as she wants her page to remain a safe space for bereaved parents. Which I do kind of get, and don’t get me wrong I really like her and have just finished her book, but lots of people very invested in her story and would be overjoyed about her baby news. There will be lots of bump photos... then no baby :(
I’m starting to feel the same. I’ve loved her page as a bereaved parent, but she has allowed people to invest in her story through all the highs and the lows, even announcing her pregnancy means that it isn’t a safe space anymore (especially in the very raw period.)

I can understand completely not sharing images of baby or at least not their face because a lot of people don’t want to share their children on a platform where they have so many followers. But no name, a fingers crossed to announce they’re here safely? That doesn’t sit right with me when you’ve allowed people in then you’re going to slam the door on them.

Just don’t get why everyone is gushing over her page. I don’t follow her by the way - just know from what I’ve read here. I’d probably have done the same if I were her! 🤣

She writes so beautifully about loss. Her experience captures what many other women have sadly experienced but can’t articulate.

She hasn’t grabbed at all the freebies being offered her.

And now she finally has her happy ending. It’s difficult to find fault with her.

Elles blog post is heartbreaking 😥 it just shows that people shouldn’t assume they know everything about someone’s life from a picture on their grid.
I hope and pray she gets her happy ending, as happy as she possibly can be after all her losses.
I truly pray she and Nico get their take home baby and all is well for them

If you read her book it will make you fall in love with her even more. She’s an incredible strength and the amount of women she’s helped through her writing and awareness is huge. I absolutely love Elle and can’t wait to see the news that she has her longed for baby in her arms and an incredible happy ending 🌈

Well, isn’t it a bit ironic that her book is named after asking her deceased sons name, but she has said she won’t reveal what her (hopefully) rainbow babys name is 😕

If I put myself in Elle’s shoes, may be she doesn’t want to share because she doesn’t want to jinx it. She doesn’t have to, she owes it to no one, her baby her choice and all that. I can only imagine having an IG like this takes a lot of work, I struggle to get time to post a pic of my kids on there once a month or so!!! I see it that she’s taking time out, in her little bubble, everything she’s been through and struggle to have a rainbow baby, she deserves, like any parent going through this, some time out. If she posted pics of her baby, then got sent stuff people would judge her. She’s been upfront about this, so I think good for her. The pressures enough for parents with newborns. Unfortunately she never got to take Teddy home, I think she wants to take this baby home and enjoy every precious moment and good for her! She owes nothing to any of her followers, it’s her account, her platform and I’m pretty sure she will carry on supporting all these charities like she has done, but she’s entitled to her own maternity leave and if she want to leave her baby out of the lime light then good for her. Again if she didn’t a lot of you would judge her, she may be different once babies here but it’s her choice because it’s her child, not instagrams!!
🙌 couldn't agree more. On other tattle threads parents get slated for showing their kids, now it's the opposite 🤷‍♀️

It’s amazing how many people fell into Elle’s charms. Oh dear... if you truly believe she’s an Instagram saint, you must think twice. I’ve met those insta mums many times in real life and oh my!
theyre very privileged white ladies preaching about women support, but in reality they’re calculated business women. Just look how they support the same instamums or businesses. It’s a real mean girl club and it’s nasty.

She absolutely wasn’t. It’s been sent out to select people and there’s a covering letter to say they’re looking for feedback on it and it’s very very top secret.

I think working class women are very rare in the insta world in general though, not just the baby loss community. People root for Elle so much because middle-class women are seen as more deserving than working-class women and they can afford to add that aspirational sheen to their lives even if everything is shit. Sad but true.
You are bang on. I’ve said on Tattle in the past, the only reason the two Clemmie’s managed to get themselves such enormous Instagram platforms is their privilege and white middle class marketability. If they’d been called Kerry-Ann and came from crappy comprehensive schools it just wouldn’t have happened for them.

Privilege is everything in the Instamum world. It’s what makes them aspirational.

As for Elle, I’ve never followed but I’ve known of her for years. There is something quite contemptuous about announcing you won’t share a single detail of your impending birth. She has thousands of people rooting for her and invested in her story.

The knitwear is gorgeous but £30/50 for a tiny cardigan or jumper- how the other half live!

I only noticed this week. I cannot even see her profile! I’ve unfollowed now from my business account too. Can’t be doing with it tbh and I’ve only ever been positive about her. I’m not sure why it’s happened.
I think there's some sort of black list going round a certain circle of instagrammers. I posted something on @rvk_loves about her breaking lockdown then suddenly I've been blocked by @carasuthers and @thehomethatmademe now @feathering.

Maybe she knows how to express and write about multiple losses better than the rest of us who have experienced it can. We can relate to her struggles. We feel an affinity with her and the fact she hasn't sold this baby out to make a quick buck with sponsored/ads/afs and collabs when so many other new influencer mums have endears her to me even more.

Why comment on this thread then and post throwaway comments about her if you don't follow her? Baffles me.

The picture of them on the beach in her stories! 😭
I think it’s a great decision for her and their little family to enjoy what they have and not worry about social media for while.

Agreed, we’ve been through this before in this thread aswell yet people still continue to write those comments, it’s boring keep going over it. Always the same ones aswell, if you dislike her so much, just make a different thread 😂 I’ll be staying here, love Elle ☺

I think she needs to prioritize her mental health right now. I can’t imagine how anxious she much be about to have her second baby, she will have so many overwhelming feelings. She has every right to create boundaries right now, and don’t people complain when babies and children are shared on IG?
I’m sure she will share more details about the baby in time to come, I think she just means there won’t be a big photo/name birth announcement. She’s taking maternity leave, the baby will be part of her life when she returns but I just think she means her account won’t turn into a baby account. I’m pretty sure the baby is on the way if not already here by how quiet she has been.
