You could try pickle juice too. What is the texture like? I also put chopped onion in mine and chopped celery if I have any. It’s a very American thing to do. I like the crunch. I do the same with egg mayo but not tried the BBQ sauce there.

Edit I just looked online and found something that said in their tuna flatbread recipe they put anchovies and capers☺
It's very soft and mayo-y slightly tangy. Really simple yet delicious, the baguette is really small and the cucumber is just on point! Such a tasty lunch.

Thanks for researching, i've been a lazy cow in trying to find out. I love both anchovies and capers so you bet i'll be making this for lunch!! When I've tried to recreate before I've added in lemon juice and blended it up - not quite the same :D

Egg mayo has to be one of the best ever too. I always use an American recipe I found on some rando website, sometimes I chop in some fresh Chives from the Garden 😍

Super hungry right now. Smoked Salmon bagel with cream cheese and dill is another <3

101 cookbooks site does a curried egg mayo recipe. Try the Paysan cream cheeses - they are excellent. I put it on a lightly toasted bagel and top with chilli jam. Attached pictures. I’m using the red one which is the mildest. I also do grilled cheese sandwiches American style and add kimchi.

Ahh see if I was making it at home I'd splash in a bit of Frank's Red Hot or even Tartar sauce. I can't seem to get the flavour and texture they use??!
The capers would help there. 😋

Oh wow. I'm not sure we can get that cheese in the UK but yes please that sounds amazing. I just had a bbq shredded chicken sandwich with coleslaw and wedges 👌🏻

Waitrose and Ocado sell it. Waitrose has three different versions inc a mixed herb one.

I love this thread 😂 if I was buying from a shop I’d go for ham, cheese, mayo and pickle but at home I absolutely love crisps in a sandwich 😂

Grated cheese and onion with salad cream in granary would be my No.1
Im also partial to a white bread ( well cooked and crispy) bacon sandwich with daddies sauce.

If I'm poorly/hungover I like a ham, coleslaw and crisp sandwich with white bread!

I think my favourite has to be a good old brie and bacon toastie sandwich, so indulgent and delicious!

This thread has made me so hungry!

Best shop bought sandwiches for me are either the chicken and bacon caesar from Pret or the M&S freshly made turkey ciabatta which was around for Xmas 2019... was gutted that the restrictions stopped them making it last year.

At home I eat a lot of fish finger sandwiches with mayo, capers and spinach. Grilled cheese with kimchi in it or a croque monsieur... fried egg crusty roll with chilli jam... also a big fan of a salt beef bagel! You also can’t beat a bog standard cheddar and ready salted crisps.

Basically I’m now starving and have no bread in the house.

Aah, I love a good sandwich.

If I buy from a shop I’ll get something like a chicken selection, like those that come with stuffing, salad etc.

Wrap of choice in a meal deal would be chicken Caesar. Wrap of choice from the sandwich shop near work was always tuna Mayo and cheese with salad.

Sub of choice is steak and cheese.

Sandwich made at home would probably be tuna Mayo, but I occasionally fancy egg Mayo. Adding crisps is always good too!

Also, how underrated is a simple slice of bread and butter?

Anyway, as you were... 😂

Brown bread with proper, unsalted butter is perfection.

Favourite sandwich to make at home is mature cheddar, beetroot and salad cream on any bread.

Also tuna with chopped celery, peppers, spring onion, gherkins, then mixed with mayonnaise and apple cider vinegar. Lush.

Oh love this thread.

OK favourites must be brown bread or seeded. Loads of lurpak. Then either cheese, cucumber and salad cream

Or
Tuna, peppers, spring onion and mayo

As a kid I loved salmon paste on open white finger rolls with butter, proper kids party food.
