I am an "oldie" and my all time favourite perfume is Azuree by Estee Lauder. I started wearing this back in the 70s. They stopped selling this in places where you could buy Estee Lauder products except Selfridges in London which was the only place you could buy it. I believe they have re-introduced it but I have read it is not the same.

Would you ask someone if you smelled a nice perfume on them? I did many years ago to a lady who used to get the same bus as me to work. Every morning I got the most divine smell of her perfume. She told me it was by Sisley and all these years later I could not remember which one so treated myself recently to two bottles one of Soir de Lune and one of Eau du Soir. It is very expensive though but got them on a John Lewis deal.

I also like Chanel No 5, Prada Paradoxe, Armani Si and Burberry Goddess.

One that would bring back teenage memories is Cachet. Used to drown myself in that before going out 🤣

I was doing a clear out of my bedroom and found a large sample of Commodity-Paper, i LOVE it!!

Please recommend a summer perfume that smells like coconut or sunscreen. I've got a few nice zesty ones so I'm looking for something different.
Next Has an Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess dupe called Summer Sun, its perfect for the beach, very coconutty. Super cheap to buy too.

Anybody else bloody bonkers when it comes to going away for 2 whole nights when packing perfume? 😄

Had to pack 3 perfumes didn't I 🥴

In my defense though the Jo Malone one is tiny and well Delina is practically attached to my chest at this stage...

I saw a reel on IG from a perfume influencer on how many seconds sprays she recommends for various perfumes. I was aghast at how many sprays she recommends, she said 40 for Billie Eilish, 25 for Good Girl, can’t remember the rest. No matter what I wear it’s one to two sprays max

Does anybody ever love going to weddings or parties etc where people are at their most glamorous and you end up smelling new fragrances or something you've never tried before on guests? It's a great conversation starter too.

I was at a wedding at the weekend and was shocked that I could only pick up on the scent of my cousin who wasn't even the bride. She smelled so divine even at 2AM after much dancing and of course I had to ask what it was. PRADA PARADOXE she says.

Definitely my next purchase for sure 👌
A male customer assistant at the station told me I smelt lovely a few weeks ago! I had JPG Divine on and was on my way home from work so sprayed it a good 8 hours earlier.

I bought YSL Tuxedo for my partner for his upcoming birthday next month. It's his main gift and I'm excited to give it to him as he is obsessed with the fragrance but can't justify the cash to buy it.

He has just been told he is getting a bonus from work for his team's major success in Q1 and is looking to spend it on YSL Tuxedo 🫠😂 Trying every excuse in the book to stop him without resorting to "if you wait for an extra week after payday then you'll have it for free you idiot!" 😂😂😂

I used to love Stella until I was wearing it one day and my lovely husband asked if I'd started smoking - I said why? and he said that I smelled of fag ash. Charming. Never wore it again.

I have a large collection and tend to wear a different perfume based on the time of year / how I am feeling . I have recently moved all my autumn/ winter perfumes into a box and left in the bottom of the wardrobe so using my spring / summer numbers.

today my perfume of the day is a freebie I received in a skin care order I placed last month. It’s the Replica - In the Garden.
I smell like a greenhouse - it’s very earthy and garden like. Not for me ( although I don’t find it hideous ) and won’t be adding to a to buy list. I should also say I’m working at home today so not inflicting soil smells on anyone.

I used to douse myself in Dior Addict in my 30s on nights out, but now I'm older I can't wear it - nor the eau fraiche version that I used to wear in the day.

I blind ordered Michael Kors Gorgeous as it was on offer but it's a dead ringer for YSL Libre and gave me the same flipping headache that that does! I'm 53, and my sense of smell has def not been the same since Covid a few years back and I wonder if menopause is about to bite me on the arse too. I am officially banning myself from blind buys, though it thrills my daughters to get them off me when I've worn it twice

A post no one asked but thought i'd share in case anyone had thoughts of trialling perfume parlour ( as i think they are good value and good copies of the original). I bought a few different perfumes to trial. Mostly bought the 13ml option ( £7/£8 as received a first time 10% discount ) but did buy samples too ( which were £2/£3) .

Valaya - Parfum De Marly copy

True to the original . Performed well throughout the day too. Loved the peachy undertone to the perfume ( its not as in your face as Bitter Peach - which I find overwhelming and artificial) . The dry down was floral ( again not OTT ) and a bit musky. Will wear this again for sure.

Cherry Smoke & Electric Cherry - Tom Ford copies

Both similar to the originals.

Electric Cherry was nice but quite artificial cherry smelling (and a bit one note). I feel like this is designed for a younger demographic. Average performance - I think I got around 2/3 hours out of it.

Cherry Smoke - this reminded me of the original Lost Cherry. I didn't pick up any leathery/smokiness at all. It has more complexity and smelled a bit like a Cherry Bakewell as it started to dry down ( I picked up almond/marzipan which i personally quite like ) . Good performance ( it lasted more or less all day on me.) Just as an aside this version reminds me of Zara - Cherry Smoothie ( which i also think is a really good copy of Lost Cherry) .

Vanilla Fatale - Tom Ford Copy

Similar to the original .

I am wearing this today - starts off well. I initially smelled like Vanilla Ice cream, however as this has started to dry down I now smell like Mr Sheen.. Its lasting quite well - sprayed on at 6.45am and still going. Not for me at all. Glad this was only a sample as its unlikely I will try it again.

Cafe Rose - Tom Ford Copy

Of the perfumes I bought this one is my least favourite. When I first tried it I couldn't pick up any notes at all so tried it again a couple of days later. The second time I went mad on the sprays which sort of helped. I don't think this smells like the original TF perfume at all. I didn't pick up any rose, coffee notes but then at the dry down all I could smell was soapiness ( which I suspect was the Coriander note). Not for me at all. Wont be trying this a third time.

Apple Brandy on the Rocks - Kilian copy

As with the others - virtually the same as the original version

LOVE this . Its apple pie and booze mixed all together . It smells fruity and spicy/woody ( but not OTT artificial fruity). Another perfume that lasts well. Will 100% wear this again. I think it smells yummy.

Rouge Malachite - Armani Prive copy

Same as the original . This is my favourite of the bunch. It is a creamy white floral which felt like being wrapped in a hug. This is a weird thing to say but this is how this made me feel when I wore it. I cant say enough good things about this perfume. It is dreamy and the only one I am contemplating buying the original (before I do I think I would have to trial the original it as its very expensive ).

Hope this was ok to share - I am not affiliated with Perfume Parlour in anyway. But wanted to share my thoughts as for the most part all the perfumes I have tried have been lovely and I think are pretty close to the original.

I've got Tom Ford white patchouli on today, one of my absolute favourites but I have to get so close to my skin to smell it. Such disappointing staying power on me.
This is a rogue one and you may have also tried this already - have you tried leaving the perfume in a dark place for a few weeks? I had a Jo Malone fragrance that cost me a fortune that didn't last, I forgot about it for a few months in the back of my wardrobe and when I rediscovered it the longevity and scent was lasting soooo much longer on my skin!

I bought a few samples to test this month ( from sample scents uk) - thoughts so far:-

Jo Malone - Pomegranate Noir . Hideous. I smell like cough syrup.
Jo Malone - Rose and White Musk - this I liked. Wouldn’t buy a full bottle though.
Caroline Herrera- Good Girl Dot - a lighter version of Good Girl. Nice but wouldn’t buy.
BDK- Rouge Smoking - smelled of bubblegum which was pleasent. I liked it . Would I buy a bottle? No as longevity was dire ( I think it lasted 90 mins tops) and as much as I like bubblegum I don’t want to smell like bubblegum all day.
Byredo - Velvet Haze. Nice enough. A salty beachy dry down ( reminded me of beach walk ). Wouldn’t buy.

still to try :
Amouage - Ubar Woman
Maison Crivellii - Mahajad Hibiscus

Does anyone else have 3 perfumes on the go at the same time…the expensive perfume for nights out, the middle range perfume for day trips and the cheapest perfume for every day use?! Or is this just a me thing ?! Maybe everyone has 15 perfumes on the go at the same time but I then I worry about them going off 😂
I reckon I have 30 on the go! Some just don't work in certain seasons, some I don't wear for ages. I do have some ancient bottles that I probably need to be brave with and throw away.

Saw this post on Reddit about putting samples in a nice bowl for guests to use (even in the main bathroom) when you're having a party or friends over in general.

Thought it was such a thoughtful thing to do and I'd love to be a guest in their house!
