I need to vent.... the audacitiy of men.
So as I have alluded my ex was a professional football - not in the premier league now - lower down before anyone gets excited. Every year since he signed/ we were together ( 15 years) he would buy my season ticket, my home shirt and if I liked the training kit like one of the hoodies or the coat. You get my drift. Last night I get home from the pub on my doorstep is my season ticket, my home shirt ( with his name and number on the back ) and several items of the training kit with a note

"I couldnt break traditions no matter how hard I tried. The training kit is your favourite colour so got it all. Love Always"
1) You broke up with me
2) Youre dating someone else
3) Im mentally dating David Malukas and Pato O'Ward at the same time leave me alone.

Now just to figure our what player on the back of my shirt to get instead to wind him up even more!
Would definitely get one of his best mates on the teams name on my shirt if it was me.
I may be floating on a pink sky nowadays, but I still know how to be a little petty and get my revenge.

Or even better, if there is someone on the team he can't stand, go for that guy.

I am here to support whatever act of pettiness your heart desires under these circumstances. Every thing I see/hear/smell of men these days just makes me think more and more that staying single is for the best...I'm approaching a big birthday with a zero and I'm just like, the peace of existing in my own place with noone to be beholden to or to annoy me - who exactly is going to bring that much good stuff to my life to be better than that? Especially when you look on the terrifying offerings on the dating apps currently. Definitely team mentally dating a hot racing driver!

The Covid fever seems to have broken (was watching the football last night with a cold compress on my forehead and a fan on) so now I am just a walking snot factory. Had so many plans for my first full week of work sabbatical and instead I am just slumped on the sofa watching YouTube 🫠 And Carlos Sainz still has not made his mind up yet - what's his excuse!!

Have you tried an antihistamine for the snot?

Carlos Sainz with his new team, but not F1one 😅 😂 (it's been known for some time but I think this is kind of official announcement)

Now it's Junior's turn (but he is cycling with his buddies around Monaco so I guess not deciding yet as he said he needs time to sit at home with his team and analyse-that was the last version at least) Decide something Pobrecito!!

wonder if the medical clearance from FIA needs to take a step up - it’s not enough that they can get out of the car, but they should also be able to drive in a way that’s not a danger to others (if they risk their life it’s one thing but there 19 more cars on track, marchalls, media and the audience)

edit: that was race 7 after silverstone, and a bit over 3 months later 😳

fully agree. i would add lance to this list too. he clearly still has serious issues with his hands (even from his fans on twitter who watch his whole on-board for the race say so), and everyone was saying he’d come back too soon. i guess it’s tricky for the fia to overrule the driver and their team (and then the actual team itself) but surely well-being of the driver comes first? but then the calendar, and that they choose to race in places with high humidity, probably says they’re not bothered. i’m still amazed no one actually passed out at qatar last year.

sadly i don’t think lack of care for athletes is unique to f1 (coming from a rugby and ice hockey fan).

Add post appendix removal to this - Carlos recently mentioned how Alex helped him with seatbelts adjustments after his surgery based on his experience. I know keyhole surgery is lighter than traditional one but it is still a stomach area surgery where you have part of your body removed (and it was actually on the edge as well as he had appendicitis close to appendix bursting).

and he was back in the paddock with his hospital bracelet still on, and won in australia still bandaged up! i mean, the driver themselves is never going to say yes i should skip a few races until i feel 100% (competitiveness and toxic masculinity for the win) but there has to be someone somewhere who steps in and says no you shouldn’t do this.

lance racing after major surgery on both hands was absolutely insane and should never have happened. especially when you consider how long danny ricc (rightly) then took off for a similar injury.

How was he cleared to drive??
not sure but seems they only need to be fit enough to pass the „get out of the seat test“ and we all heard after Qatar that no driver will ever be upfront and say he isn’t fit to drive outside of Logon (well done fort that!!)

The FIA as sporting regulations should be the one who is able to say „no“ as they aren’t invested financially like the teams, driver or F1 Liberty and isn’t that a reason, we still have the FIA involved in F1 aswell?

think it’s easier in team sports as at least in the top leagues they have people to cover them, in F1 the driver will loose valuable chances for points - team wise it shouldn’t matter if we look at Ollie & Liam’s great results

so maybe drivers also won’t really mention how they feel to the team and relay on their personal (not team paid) trainer, manager & co
