I'd assume not? I know someone who got turned away at Heathrow last weekend trying to board to Madrid, and that was just to transit through Spain.
You aren’t allowed to enter Spain from the UK unless you’re a citizen (have a passport) or you’re a resident (or if you can prove you work out there)

I'm not she why she's still clinging so strongly to the idea of going to Spain - I know it's disapointing not to be able to go through with future plans, but surely she can see how unrealistic it is that she'll actually get there? Or is it a case of her genuinely thinking she is an exception to the restrictions? Even if she does get there, what if she gets stuck and can't come home?

She's just delusional and clinging to the year abroad for dear life, which was dead in the water anyway. She's an entitled cat who probably assumes other students are making the same idiotic decisions because oBvIoUsLy the year abroad must go on.

She better not be travelling across the country in a national lockdown. She's bleeping disgusting.
Is this witch for real? She doesn't HAVE TO do tit, she is choosing to drag this year abroad thing and milk it for all it's worth as if there isn't a damn pandemic going on. what will she do in Spain with her student visa? Try to work in bars in a new lockdown? Violate more rules and risk people by flying in these conditions just to get her jollies off of having lived abroad? I cannot deal with these daft little girls, both her and Jade are spoiled to the core. Sit your a down ffs. She's like a toddler who's been told no, get a grip.

It is an unfortunate situation - but unlike many, she did get to do some time abroad. Spain isn't going anywhere and I don't think that she will be looked down on CV-wise afterwards. Life just isn't fair like that sometimes.

Why are none of these influencers/youtubers using their platforms for good? I'm like 80% sure I have symptoms coming on right now and all I'm seeing are them talking about or breaking rules and we're not even 24 hours into lockdown

I’d love to know what some of her Oxford course mates actually think of her - she’s coming across very very desperate to have fulfilled the “year abroad life” that she will continue to be very tone deaf, entitled and bratty just so she can say in years to come that she “did a year abroad”. Surely a lot of her course mates will have accepted alternatives such as online language school and are getting on with it quietly? I wonder if in Eve’s head that failure to go to Spain means she’s personally failed? I mean, the pandemic has failed us, we have not failed personally. We’ve all had to adapt... you know, for survival. No one is going to care in a couple of years time whether she went abroad for a full year or not...

Like other people have said, what gets me the most is that she seems to think her ~year abroad~ is the be all and end all of her ability to live abroad in general? Like obviously Brexit has made it harder for her live in the EU but there’s no reason she can’t take a year or six months out to move to Berlin/Spain/wherever after her degree and get a job in a bar or do an internship. To a certain extent I understand her initial disappointment but come on, the pandemic is hardly a novel concept now so I don’t get her continued obsession with having the perfect year abroad, just accept it, move on and make future plans!

I don't understand how working in a bar contributes to her oxford degree? even in germany she didn't seem to be doing any work, like how is this part of her degree?

I replied to her story where she was complaining about having to travel to sort out going to Spain etc (poor poor Eve 🙄). Surprise surprise no reply. How does she not see how tone-deaf she’s being to the entire situation?

She had internships with two (rubbish) German newspapers.

also, as someone who has a lot of knowledge in visas - those requirements seem standard for a student visa and don’t appear to have changed because of Brexit.

I heard yesterday that on average one in every 50 people has COVID in the UK. What part of ‘stay at home’ does she not understand?

This has changed because before Brexit she wouldn‘t have needed a visa at all 😅

They have some of the least strict rules about it, even on a single language degree you usually only have to do something stupid like 50 days in a place of employment etc.....

Are there even going to be lots of bar jobs going? I imagine if bars are only open set hours then staff who already work there will get the shifts. I know in Scotland any job that comes up is met with 100s of applications because people have lost their jobs.

Her obsession with Edinburgh gets me.
Get to duck, we don't want irresponsible bleeps like you living in our Scotland.
