It was the keys to the post box she needed to send back because she sent like 3 suitcases ahead of time (how she had so much tit I don’t know) and she realised they were in a jacket pocket or a bag or something (how I’ve got no idea)

I came back from my year abroad with 2 suitcases and that was all, how the HELL she had that much stuff is beyond me. Wasteful consumerism "influencer" lifestyle ring any bells?

When I studied abroad for my Masters (for the whole year) I took 3 suitcases (though one was a cabin bag), but to be fair I brought all the bedding, towels and huge warm jackets/jumpers (moving from Portugal to Scotland, so the difference in temperatures was too big not to go prepared)

Because my dad liked driving and flying was far too expensive back then and it was only (only!) a 14 hour drive each way, my dad drove me to mine so I took an entire car worth's of stuff. Eve has nothing compared to what I thought I'd need for a year abroad.

She's pissing me off on her journalism twitter, tweeting about the new Scottish lockdown to have a go at Westminster and again, it feels like she's just tweeting about things without considering that we actually have to go through them. It's just fuel for her to criticise people.

Why do all influencers living in England assume all of their followers do too? Seen so many people post stuff like 'we have got this' and 'hope you're all okay xx'. Other countries (even within the UK, Wales for example), have been in lockdown for ages but influencers seem to think everyone lives in England?

This!! Literally so annoying, are they that vapid they don’t realise there’s other countries in the U.K.

I know... I thought Eve would know better given how 'international' she is now that she has lived aBrOaD for sooo long?

Pretty sure Eve is aware that not all her followers live in England but that doesn't mean she can't address a message to her followers that do live in England? Not everything an influencer says has to apply to everybody.

Also, I imagine the vast majority of her audience is British and she's aware of this through analytics.

I think their point is that they might all be British but they’re not all English, and the way they say ‘you’ is like they’re talking to everyone

Scotland also announced lockdown yesterday so I think it’s pretty fair to say when something happened to the majority of a country on the same day?

Not saying it has to apply to everybody. It's a thing I have noticed her doing multiple times now, which makes her come across as selfish imo. To me, it looks like she only cares about herself and what she can do/can't do.

She didn't say anything after Scotland's announcement, and I don't think she would have said something if England hadn't gone into lockdown too.

To be fair, right after Scotland's lockdown was announced we knew Boris had an announcement and it wasn't hard to guess it might be a lockdown. I'm all for criticising Eve, but this feels a bit nitpicky to me.

I don't really see it as a case of her assuming that all of her followers are English? I think it's understandable that she posted something like this, as did many other English influences. A lot of her followers will be GCSE/A-Level/university students and last nights announcement will have a big impact on their education, and it makes sense for someone typically known for study videos to send out message like this. I don't typically defend Eve but I don't think she meant 'you' literally to mean everyone.

Yeh I tend to agree. I do find Eve a bit self absorbed and moany at times but I think it’s ok to be self absorbed in these situations that directly impact you and your family/friends.

I wonder if they'll bring back the Studytube Project since the whole purpose of that was to help people through exams. I never really understood it.
