How is it Eves fault if her dads with someone a lot younger? It's literally nothing to do with her?
It’s not her fault but she can’t be surprised when people talk about it. She puts herself online and people will talk about her family when they are on her channel. Obviously it’s not her fault but it’s quite shocking

Why does she make such a big deal about accents? I don’t think your accent changes that quickly, like when she’s at uni for a term it’s only a couple of months. You can have a phone voice but your normal accent doesn’t change depending on where you are. I have quite a strong Yorkshire accent and it doesn’t change when I’m at uni. Maybe if you moved somewhere permanently then accents may change over time. But eve makes it into such a big deal, I don’t understand it.

I haven’t lived in the UK for four years now. I have only returned twice for a holiday. And my family in the UK have commented that my accent is a SLIGHTLY different. A bit more American, but definitely definitely still English. And when I leave again people say I sound more English. But I would never say your accent changes just over a university term?!? When I talk to my family I do somewhat mirror their accent and go back to how I was before. I do sometimes laugh at people who go away on a Gap year to Australia for a year, and come back with an Aussie accent ...

It takes a long time for an accent to change, but according to eve it changes in a few weeks - I think she putting it on because a few years ago she didn’t have a really strong Birmingham accent anyway🤣

Have any of you heard about the new EU travel restrictions? No one from the UK will be allowed into the EU for a non-essential reason from January 1st due to how high our covid cases are.

Surely that means no Spain for Eve then? If I was her I’d cut my losses, come home for Christmas then do a Spanish language course remotely from the UK.

Probably. I'm a languages student too and I'm preparing to do the same at this point.

Imagine the 5-day test doesn't work and staying later in Berlin means she has to quarantine over Christmas. We'd never hear the end of it. -_-

well if the test doesn't work etc, it's 10 days from the 15th for her now, so she can enjoy Christmas Dinner in her bedroom

She should have come home once she was “over” Covid. At least she’d be home and quarantined before Christmas.

I literally have no sympathy for her at all. I'm glad she now has to quarantine until Christmas Eve because that's what she gets for going around Berlin like there's no pandemic.
Some of us can't go visit family in Ireland this year cause it doesn't seem safe so if she moans about this one more time I'm gonna scream.

She could have left Berlin weeks ago! This is her fault for wanting something to be prolonged

With her amazing journalism skills she should be aware of the shambles that is test and trace. Why would she leave it to the last minute to fly home when her internship was cancelled and she wasn’t doing anything?? And if she has to isolate why is she saying that as soon as she gets back she’s going to get a steak bake from greggs ????

I really struggle to have any sympathy with Eve. She's been so fortunate to be able to go to Berlin in the first place and she scarcely acknowledges how privileged she is. Why would you wait for the last possible minute to travel home? Travel restrictions can change so rapidly that it makes sense to leave when you know you can. It's not like she can never go back to Berlin again!

Tbh I haven't watched Eve since her GCSE videos but I knew she was doing languages and came here to see if maybe anyone else was in a similar situation with year abroads being messed up and everything.

I really can't explain how lucky she is right now regarding her year abroad. My university cancelled the first semester of it completely and I've had so many friends lose out on amazing internships and places at such great universities abroad. Some people I know even tried to go to their internships anyway whilst doing the online work but my university called their bosses up and told them that they can't take them on. The majority of us have been stuck at home receiving a mere 3 hours of tuition a week but we're just getting on with it.

With the way things are looking now, most of us aren't going to be able to go abroad for the second semester either. It sucks so much and we're all devastated as we've been looking forward to it for so long but there's just nothing we can do.

I know I'm not alone in this as many other universities are doing the same thing. I really just wish she could realise she's in such a lucky position. Yeah, covid has ruined a lot, but she still got to experience living in another country and she's had an internship that she can add to her CV. So many other language students have nothing.

Yes and let's not forget that the travel window for university students to return home was 3-9 December, but she thinks she's above that.

Tbf, I couldn't go home in the travel window - needed access to the library books as I have exams up until Dec 21. I wish I could have gone, but needs must:( Eve should have just sucked it up and gone home

You know she's not going to stick to that isolation.
